Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Integrates well, highly stable, and scalable
CA Asset Portfolio Management can improve the uploading of batch information. I have to upload large amounts of information and it can take a long time to finish. There are some other solutions that are better, such as Micro Focus. We have approximately 10,000 PCs that we are busy processing and we have to upload information to them but when we use this solution it is complex. When we use Micro Focus it is better.

Cloud storage with no hardware needed and great comprehensive reports
The software is cloud-based, so I do not need to store any data locally. It is a fully software-based solution, eliminating the need for investment in hardware. We have the capability to create reports as needed. It is good software to use, as there were no incidents where I needed to contact technical support. Additionally, it is free software.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has improved a lot. We could identify a lot of manual processes that can be automated for our customers. The scope of automation by using Automation Anywhere has become wonderful. IQ Bot and AI sense are the incredible features provided."
"It is quite strong in the unattended space."
"Compared to other RPA solutions on the market I have worked with, AA surpasses its competitors by far."
"We're able to create reusable components. We don't want people to have to rebuild things from scratch. In this way, developers can take the reusable components and complete their development processes more quickly."
"What I appreciate most about Automation Anywhere is the high degree of interoperability, and they have both on-premises and cloud versions, which allows us to ensure that we are properly following the protocols and ensuring seamless integration with our native systems."
"One of the notable benefits we've realized from Automation Anywhere is a significant reduction in errors when processing data, which improves both revenue accuracy and operational efficiency."
"It has reduced the number of full-time employees."
"There has been a great return on investment."
"With the CA Asset Management tool, we have the ability to very quickly find our software compliance, so now, as an ongoing process, we know exactly where we stand with software and the opportunities that we have in our environment."
"This product has added value to our organization by our increased ability to track assets, status, and lifecycle as well as being able to monitor assets when they are active."
"From an implementation standpoint, and what we've seen so far of what it can do, I'd say we're extremely satisfied."
"IT asset manager simplifies the management and administration of the life cycle of IT assets thus lowering the capital and operational expenditure."
"Gives better control over software and licenses and reduces risk from a software audit."
"Being able to determine the licensing position for existing vendors and future vendors. Also, visibility into our environment,"
"Reduces software cost. Reduces the risk of software audits."
"IT Asset manager is centralized inventory software for computer hardware and software asset of the organization."
"The software is cloud-based, so I do not need to store any data locally."
"The nice thing about Spiceworks is always it's free."
"If you're in the market for a low-cost service desk system, Spiceworks is a good software solution to start out with, especially when it comes to startups and those organizations that don't currently have any existing service desk software in place."
"Well at the end if you are new to the field of IT, and have a small to medium sized company, do not hesitate to give Spiceworks a shot, its real easy (with no steep learning curve as Nagios), with excellent features and support."
"We have taken this from a central location and expanded our reach over 8 different companies with around 1000 devices all reporting to one location, and I have had no issues and do not foresee any as we continue to expand and install SpiceWorks at our remaining customers."
"Customer Service: Spiceworks support is only surpassed by the baristas at Starbucks."
"The solution is easy to use and easy to manage."
"The price, as it's free."

Cons

"Their support also needs improvement."
"My main issue with Automation Anywhere might be the logging of bots and getting more detailed feedback of what my bot is doing, step by step. It is hard to track fine-tuning in larger codes."
"We would like to be able to directly implement automation for Word documents and XML."
"In terms of speed in Automation Anywhere, I feel it is taking a slightly longer time."
"The focus on usability and user experience is bang on. Addressing several personas and making it easy for every persona to adopt and embrace is the spot on focus. That's an area that has a lot more room to improve. In the absence of that, the skills and expertise in the industry are going to struggle and if you need broader adoption, which has maximum potential, the persona-based user experience is a focus and I'd say Automation Anywhere is already working on."
"One thing about it that we have not found to be exceptionally useful are the built-in bot analytics, the Bot Insights. From our own extensive experimentation, as well as from what we've understood from other people using this solution, we've been able to come up with better solutions using our own in-house analytics and our own systems than through theirs."
"Also, we're seemingly plagued with certain technological issues or bugs."
"Many clients use the Citrix environment but AA has very low functionality to automate a Citrix environment."
"IT asset manager is very complex when integrated with other systems like HR, help desk, procurement and supply chain systems."
"I'd like to see more mobile. I'd like to have it actually manage mobile devices. It really doesn't, and I'd like to have a mobile application just for asset management."
"I'd like to see end-of-life information on software products."
"As I'm looking into financial reporting and audits, new features to help with this would be good."
"I would like to see more control over audit trail features, where you can turn on and off fields."
"Accessing from roles can be effected adversely if searches are created and incorrectly assigned to roles."
"It needs stronger rebooting components and the ability to develop our own software metrics."
"Keeping the catalog updated and having more titles in the catalog is helpful, because the more items that are in the catalog, your process goes faster because you don't have to manually build all the entitlements."
"Yes, too many. We tried it on a VM, but we had to reboot every 2 days."
"They've also tried to integrate it with social logins, like Twitter and LinkedIn, and that type of login authentication has no place in a corporate application."
"The help desk ticketing system is functional but fairly basic."
"I think its monitoring tools could use some improvement."
"I would not recommend running Spiceworks on a desktop machine for long, I have had to reboot the services more often than I would like."
"It does, however, require help-desk and minor server/firewall config XP experience to set up."
"The devices keep showing offline in the dashboard, but when we check it, it's already online."
"It would be nice to have remote access to the solution via a tablet. They also need remote control from a PC. Right now, to complete the technical support process, you have to have a tool to access the PC, and check the problems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a free trial so that they can get an overview, and there are different licenses that are very affordable and can suit every business model."
"The licensing cost could be improved. It costs a lot. At the very least, the developer licenses and the control panels should be made free to enterprises, and the production environment licensed."
"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"Automation Anywhere is thought to be quite expensive, especially for smaller organizations."
"UiPath is exceptionally more expensive than Automation Anywhere. UiPath is far ahead of its competition, but in terms of finances, Automation Anywhere offers better value and is more effective for organizations seeking cost-effective solutions."
"Its usage is expensive for us because my user base is mostly in Manila and KL. The unit cost of labor is cheaper there than in the U.S. or Australia, which puts a bit more stress on how to get a positive ROI while continuing to use it."
"The product’s pricing is reasonable."
"It is reasonable, but it can always be a little bit cheaper."
Information not available
"The tool is cheap."
"It might be about $300 annually for a bigger company. If you pay annually, it's better and cheaper."
"Seeing that it is a low-cost solution, I would advise you to go ahead with Spiceworks and experiment with it to see if you can get things working properly, especially if you currently don't have any existing service desk software in place."
"It's free."
"The product is free! Get it now."
