Attack paths have become visible and cost control is strong but application monitoring still needs work
In my opinion, the best feature of CloudSphere is the attack path analysis, which really helps me to understand how the path works, the misconfigurations, the vulnerabilities, and how they chain together to demonstrate the attack path system. The cost management feature in CloudSphere really helps me so much; it helps me to know the cost visibility, identify the unused resources, eliminate waste, and also helps me in my spending by service across my team and in my overall environment. Using CloudSphere for three years has really helped me tighten my CI/CD pipelines and also my risk-based analytics, understand my attack pathways, the vulnerabilities, and the misconfigurations in my system. CloudSphere's predictive insight really helps me to dictate attack pathway analysis, assisting in mitigating any infrastructure challenges. CloudSphere really helps me with cloud visibility, risk identification, asset discovery, and attack path analysis; they are doing very well in the market right now compared to other software.

Near-zero downtime has protected critical workloads and now simplifies hybrid cloud recovery
The best features of HPE Zerto Software are mainly very sophisticated and relevant to the current market. The data protection CDP part has real-time replication, unlike other solutions that have snapshot backups. We can set it up hourly, making it ideal for use with workloads. Another attraction is the near-zero RTO, with automated failover within minutes and one-click failover and failback. Currently, we are using a hybrid cloud solution, and HPE Zerto Software supports multi-cloud environments, making it easy to migrate between on-premises and cloud. Regarding the impact of HPE Zerto Software on our RTOs, we have near-zero RTO, meaning the system must be back online within thirty minutes if we measure the time. It is very quick to recover services. With HPE Zerto Software's near-synchronous replication, we have some CDP protection, so we typically write interceptions along with some asynchronous replication. There is almost real-time replication available.

Pros

"CloudSphere really helps me with cloud visibility, risk identification, asset discovery, and attack path analysis; they are doing very well in the market right now compared to other software."
"Provides multiple kinds of services for managing the clouds of multiple customers."
"The scalability of the solution is a godsend."
"What I like best about CloudSphere is that it has a lot of beneficial features, and it has a single pane for managing multi-cloud environments, which I find very helpful, and it's the main benefit you can get from CloudSphere."
"The product is helpful for the management, optimization, and utilization of resources."
"We do not need to install any appliances or any agents."
"For the customers I work with, it provides flexibility as far as storage is concerned, so it's security and access."
"CloudSphere is very mature and very effective."
"HPE Zerto Software has positively impacted our organization by allowing us to grow our business as an MSP, leading to a revenue increase of around 10%, and as a customer, we have not experienced any downtime for the past four years, achieving 100% uptime."
"We now have the ability to replicate critical data to a secure, off-site location that can be brought back in seconds if needed."
"One of the most valuable features of Zerto is its straightforward cost model."
"The biggest piece of advice I could give is if you want the best-in-class for failover and replication, as well as ease of management, there is no better product that I've seen so far."
"With HPE Zerto Software, when we achieve that scenario to fail over and stay there for a long period, and then come back and fail back to the main site, it has had a huge positive impact on our management."
"We can spin up our environment in DR without affecting production, which is probably the biggest feature for us. We have the ability to do passive testing. We can even test scenarios, such as installing software or changing software. We can make modifications without affecting our production environment. So, the test functionality of being able to test the failover solution and being able to bring up our virtual machines in a test mode is the biggest benefit."
"The core functionality is what's beautiful about it."
"Being hardware agnostic is nice in that we don't really need a 15 second recovery time. It's easy to use. It's always doing updates behind the scenes. These are the positive things. The setup is pretty easy. Building out the VPGs is pretty easy. And it works like it's supposed to."

Cons

"The solution must have a single management console for the resources and VMs."
"The next feature I would like to have full disclosure of what's being done with the data."
"When we start the scanning of, for example, 500 servers, it will not handle the scan. We need to differentiate the jobs - for example, one job for 100 servers, a second job for another 100 servers, et cetera."
"The main issue I experienced from CloudSphere was recently resolved, but an area for improvement in the solution is that it lacks the functionality of migrating resources from one public cloud to another."
"The main issue I experienced from CloudSphere was recently resolved, but an area for improvement in the solution is that it lacks the functionality of migrating resources from one public cloud to another. If CloudSphere could provide that functionality, that would be very beneficial to users and companies."
"There are quite a number of services that can't be deployed using CloudSphere."
"Their customer support leaves a lot to be desired. The standards are not that great."
"CloudSphere is not keeping up with the pace of the cloud and there are a number of services that can't be deployed using CloudSphere."
"We did look at the long-term retention backup feature of Zerto a few years ago, and at that time, it was limited. I can't say what it is right now, but at the time, its functionality was limited in terms of basically where we could save it and how we could save it. Offsite air gapping our backups is important to us to help protect against ransomware, and at the time, it couldn't do that. That would be one area that would be important before we consider using the long-term retention again. I haven't looked at it recently, and they may have addressed this in the meantime, but if not, this would be an area of improvement."
"I haven't been a super big fan of the support area. The support could really be better in terms of responsiveness. I've had some issues that took two or three days to get resolved. Once I got to the right person, they were resolved quickly, but it took a while to get to that person."
"The interface is the only thing that we've ever really had an issue with. It's gone through some revisions. The UI, it's not clunky, but it's not as streamlined as it could be. Some of the workflow things are not as nice as they could be."
"An area for improvement is the support because it gets really expensive. They need to make it a little cheaper."
"Needs better reporting."
"The only issue I've ever had is that I wish that Zerto would work more closely with VMware."
"They currently have a bug in their production versions that prevents their product from functioning in some scenarios, and we have hit a few of those scenarios."
"Some features are not up to what we need, although we have found alternatives and aren't really looking for Zerto to handle those items today."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is very expensive."
"It depends on how that model will be used. It might be anywhere between $4 and $15 per license per month. It’s less expensive than other options."
"The pricing seems fair."
"We're getting our money's worth with Zerto."
"I am not very involved with the pricing, but from my understanding, it is fairly expensive for us. This is why we limit its use to our tier-one customers. We have other disaster recovery solutions for our other customers due to the cost."
"The pricing is pretty competitive to that of other options out there. When we shopped around, it was in line with the price of other solutions."
"The pricing is very reasonable."
"There may be less expensive solutions on the market but with Zerto, you get what you pay for."
"I think everything can be cheaper. Pricing limited our ability to use Zerto as much as we'd like, but that's not why we haven't adopted it as our primary backup solution."
"I think the cost is reasonable for VM licensing. It's not outside the scope of an enterprise product."
