Experienced reduced alert fatigue with streamlined notifications
We use Blackpoint Cyber MDR for our higher-end clients who need a higher level of control over security I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real. This feature ensures that I am notified only…

Helps secure the infrastructure and control users with admin rights
There are many features that are currently missing. A customization option is required for certain policies. For instance, if we need to stop PowerShell scripting, we have to create a different policy for that. Being able to create a sub-level policy within a top-level policy would be good. Currently, no user-based policy option is available inside the EPM console. We can only create computer-based policies. The database is available, but there is a drawback in not being able to create local groups on the EPM console. We only have to depend on Active Directory. This limits infrastructure security as we depend on the Active Directory team to manage user groups. If they remove any users, we lose control. If we could create groups locally and block them or set specific policies, we would have more control. Local endpoint management is missing from the EPM site. Moreover, there is an issue with policies not running as expected when we make enhancements. We have to find multiple ways to whitelist applications or enhance policies.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Their SOC is phenomenal in not monitoring and responding and taking action."
"On my end, the most valuable feature of this solution is that I can install it and forget about it. After that, their SOC team takes over and they only call me when there's a problem."
"The solution also watches over Microsoft 365 and keeps a copy of logs."
"I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real."
"On a scale from one to ten, I would rate the overall solution as a ten."
"The solution is all encompassing and can incorporate email monitoring."
"You can use it to strip users of their local admin rights and, at the same time, elevate applications for them."
"It identifies the original source, and all instances of malicious applications in the environment."
"It doesn't affect operational efficiency. If you set everything correctly, the user doesn't notice that it is in the background."
"The biggest benefit of CyberArk EPM for our customers is control over privileged access for endpoints. Endpoints are often the starting point for attackers to enter and move within a network. CyberArk EPM bridges the gap between security and operations teams. Operations teams are happy because work isn't stopped due to admin rights issues, while security teams are satisfied that full admin rights aren't given to all users."
"The most valuable feature of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is its high performance, it's the best identity security platform. The security is good. It's easy to showcase the feature and capabilities and compare it with other competitors. It competes well with other solutions. Additionally, it is a complete solution."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is very easy to manage, which I like. The solution also has a dashboard where you can see which software is suspicious, which I find valuable."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager (EPM) 's most valuable feature is its ability to manage user application privileges and protect against ransomware attacks by controlling access to specific files and applications."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager has had a positive impact on my customers' security posture."

Cons

"While I am very satisfied with the service, supporting additional platforms, particularly Linux support, would be a beneficial improvement."
"The feature we keep asking for is a vulnerability scan."
"The interface could be more intuitive."
"The interface could be more intuitive. More transparency is needed in the interface as a lot of details are hidden behind the scenes, making them difficult or impossible to access."
"Some texts seem to report items as normal too quickly."
"The solution does not tie into other EDR products like CyberArk or CrowdStrike but that might be more useful."
"Performance could be better. We have a couple of problems with CyberArk right now. One of the problems is performance in our environment. Support also takes a long time to respond. If the user already has local admin rights, then I can't collect any events in the console from this device. There are also some options in CyberArk that are not working properly, and are not helpful in this case. I can't collect any information to create a proper policy for the device. I have to investigate everything manually, or even disable the local admin from the device. I can collect the events only after this, and it's very time consuming. In my case, it's a waste of resources."
"One area that has room for improvement is in managing the credentials for network devices."
"CyberArk is a pretty heavy solution."
"It was complex to introduction the product to the end-users and the technical team."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager could be improved by simplifying the administration process, specifically when setting up policies and applications."
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is not suitable for the current situation because when you compare it to OTP, OTP is the strongest password solution. You can use it as a one-time password, but you have to log into the password manager itself and if you don't change your password, it will be the weakest link in the security. In OTP, you don't have that weakest link."
"CyberArk is a pretty heavy solution. There are a lot of moving components and a lot of things involved."
"The product is expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is in line with other products."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"licensing for this solution is based on the number of APV (privileged users), and the number of sessions that you want to record."
"It is an expensive solution."
"The tool is priced high. I would rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"The cost for CyberArk is very high."
"I feel that the price of the product is nominal. It must be around 10 to 15 USD per installation. I rate the product price an eight to nine out of ten, where one is high price, and ten is low price."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable for customers."
"I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten since the price can be too high for smaller businesses."
"I believe it's quite a reasonably priced solution. It's not very common to use CyberArk because it's a niche solution, but customers who are willing to control administrative accounts are willing to pay this money."
