Visual Studio Test Professional could be improved as earlier we had flexibility in automation testing with TFS, which became a bit difficult moving to Azure DevOps. Additionally, in Visual Studio Code, we have an agent mode for GitHub Copilot, which is very helpful in testing or development phases, while Visual Studio's GitHub Copilot is a bit tricky and sometimes does not provide my desired output. For future improvements, I would like to see prompt fixing, as currently, if something goes wrong in Visual Studio, the fixing options are not always correct. If that intelligence is embedded, it would be very helpful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Aside from speeding up our processes, it also allowed us to tie in our automated test scenarios and integrate our reporting tools to make the entire process efficient and hassle free."
"When developing new pages that have questionable functionality or coding, we will often use CBT to test it in a browser. CBT works with our testing environment and development site."
"It has increased the speed of our regression testing."
"The ability to choose from many devices is the best feature."
"We no longer need to have a full QA team, testing is more quickly and reliably reproduced, and scheduled daily tests assist in catching any bugs which fall through the cracks and make it to the production environment."
"The most valuable feature is that it gives us real OS devices that are available to test, and we don't have to ensure that all of the devices are up to date."
"CrossBrowserTesting helps a lot with the responsive testing in different mobiles and browsers and has good tools for our testing like taking videos and screenshots."
"It was the perfect solution that saved us time and money to perform web viewing tests on real devices, which allowed our team to correct multiple failures in devices."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the speed of the application, it is a well-documented, complete product, and reasonably priced."
"The performance of Visual Studio Test Professional is valuable."
"My advice to anybody researching this solution is that this tool is a must."
"Customization is the most powerful feature of this product because you can mold and design to your requirements."
"This product is a nine out of ten."
"Visual Studio Test Professional's most valuable feature is the rich IDE for doing code and test development."
"The initial setup is easy. It's easy to configure."
"Its initial setup process is easy."

Cons

"This solution would benefit from faster testing and support for more devices."
"I have experienced some lagging issues, and it does not seem like all of the testing environments are configured the same."
"Sometimes the testing is slow."
"I had some problems with the local connection, but there is someone that can help us always on customer support chat."
"Being able to test on real devices via the virtual connection is wonderful, but it can cause some lag and load time issues while testing."
"Elements of 'real' mobile/tablet testing could be sped up, as I still sometimes experience lag, which no one loves."
"The screenshot tool defaults to a screen layout instead of a full page test. I find it a bit cumbersome that I can't have it run a full screenshot as my default."
"Automated testing could be improved."
"The documentation is limited."
"It is not good in terms of performance. When you open Visual Studio, you have to wait for a while to process your code."
"The solution should be cheaper."
"The vendor must release a lightweight version of the solution."
"Sometimes, the solution hangs, so its performance could be improved."
"I would like to see more integration in the solution."
"It is hard to learn, and you need to invest time to understand it."
"The database administration could be better; it would be nice if we could do every design related task also in Visual Studio what is possible in SQL Server Management Studio."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"CrossBrowserTesting offered the best value for its price."
"It is worth the pricing as the product is supported on multiple platforms and browsers."
"A few intermediary pricing options for small QA teams would be nice, e.g., unlimited screenshots, "as you need it" parallel tests, etc."
"The lowest price point is very reasonable. It is also useful if only one person in the company needs to check on the browser display."
"SmartBear offers bundles of products that work together."
"We pay for the solution annually and the price could be reduced."
"I think that the pricing is quite good."
"There is a paid version of the solution as well as a community version that is free."
"Visual Studio Test Professional is a very expensive solution."
"The tool is expensive in my region."
"Visual Studio Test Professional is not an expensive solution."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee for Visual Studio Test Professional, which is expensive."
"There are two versions of Visual Studio Test Professional: Community and Professional. We are currently using the Community version, but if we start working on a commercial product, we will consider upgrading to the Professional version. We need to identify how we will proceed with our projects, and based on that, we will decide on our licensing."
