Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

An easy-to-manage and deploy solution, but it should provide open customization
You don't need a certification or great knowledge to manage and deploy the solution because it's not complex. It's a very easy plug-and-play solution where you can just enroll the devices and choose the features you want. Kandji doesn't require much customization because it has built-in features that we have to create manually otherwise.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The pay-as-you-go model enabled me to deploy quickly from the AWS Marketplace management account, scaled protection for workloads without upfront commitments, and reduced the initial operational overhead."
"CrowdStrike displays a threat score when it detects an infection. This is helpful because not all detections are the same. It will classify them as ransomware, malware, phishing, etc. This feature helps us prioritize and cross-check with other EDR tools."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"It has an extremely low footprint, so it has got minimum impact on the user end points in terms of CPU and memory usage."
"CrowdStrike Falcon has done an excellent job at detecting breaches. It has allowed us to stay in business and keep our systems up."
"CrowdStrike has improved our incident response capabilities."
"CrowdStrike Falcon helps with endpoint protection by having very low memory utilization and processor usage, so it doesn't impact the computer system performance, and the computer system works very fast compared to all other endpoint protection solutions."
"The malware protection is the most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon."
"It's a very easy plug-and-play solution where you can just enroll the devices and choose the features you want."

Cons

"If CrowdStrike can further expand its support for XDR compatibility, that would give it an edge over all the other competing new products."
"I want more ability to customize how you summarize the data. The default views are fine, but it would be interesting to be able to customize them based on the kind of data you want to see immediately. This can help the administrator gain an immediate overview and reduce the investigation time."
"CrowdStrike needs to quit making up stuff about its features and functionality to bash its competition."
"The performance could be better."
"CrowdStrike Falcon needs to improve their host management system."
"CrowdStrike Falcon's GUI requires improvement for user-friendliness."
"I would also like to see the endpoint firewall component produce some level of logging and feedback."
"Improvement is always possible. It's challenging to gauge how much future mitigation is provided, especially since we've only been using the product for about one and a half years. Every product faces this challenge because nothing is ever completely foolproof. So, besides relying on technology, we also focus on increasing our staff's awareness of security issues. Feedback from my colleagues suggests that the reporting and dashboarding of incidents could be improved."
"Kandji should give open customization."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our licensing fees were between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, which was pretty expensive for a small business."
"All I can say about the licensing cost is that it's negotiable."
"I would like them to further reduce the price, because it is quite pricey at the moment."
"The pricing could be reduced. If it was more reasonable that would be great."
"This solution has a very competitive price."
"While CrowdStrike Falcon offers significant security benefits, its high price point might make it prohibitively expensive for many small and medium-sized businesses, including companies like ours."
"The pricing of CrowdStrike Falcon is competitive."
"Different components are additional price points. We got the components that were right for us, but other organizations may require more (or less) components to suit their needs."
"Users have to pay a yearly licensing fee for Kandji, which is expensive."
