Consistent threat hunting and anomaly detection deliver valuable insights for network security management
In terms of improvement for Darktrace, pricing is the main concern. Pricing bothers me and this is one of the major factors when choosing a solution. When we get feedback from customers, that's the only felt need. When we factor in Darktrace, we do it only limited. We put it on where the perimeters and connections are, but still, some gray areas are left out, especially if we have multiple branches. We need Darktrace on each branch to get the data out, and I suggest having some kind of a centralized product that gets data from multiple sources to aggregate and provide the data.

Stable, scalable, and can be deployed on both cloud and on-premises
We usually need the solution to have extra protection against data breaches, as we have seen with our customers. The solution is deployed on the public cloud The solution works both outside and on-premises of the company, thus preventing secondary breaches from reaching the company's data. The…

Pros

"It is a stable solution."
"It is very easy to work with Darktrace once you know how it works and the type of permissions that you need to get related to the security over a network. The interface is awesome. I'm sure that you have seen Ironman, and you know Jarvis, the computer of Tony Stark. The interface of Darktrace is very similar, and you can see in 3D, like a hologram, the whole network, traffic, and all the traces inside the network. The interface is awesome, and it provides a lot of information. At least for us, it is very easy to handle this interface, get the reports, and do the interpretation of those reports. Darktrace also provides mobile monitoring. With an app on your mobile phone, you can view the information live, which is very useful for area directors and field engineers. Darktrace can be also correlated with any type of big data solution, such as Splunk."
"One member of staff is enough for deployment and maintenance because Darkforce is AI-driven. It does a lot of things by itself."
"The most valuable feature of Darktrace and the most valuable feature is the artificial intelligence module because that is the tool that determines automatically if there is any risk or not in the network."
"Darktrace impacts my organization positively by providing us with a better understanding of abnormal activities detected among users."
"The most beneficial feature in Darktrace is identifying phishing emails with the help of the AI engine and machine learning."
"We are able to detect a lot of things, actually, and see what is happening in our network."
"A very useful feature in Darktrace for real-time threat analysis is the packet inspection that analyzes the packet traffic in real time."
"The solution works both outside and on-premises of the company, thus preventing secondary breaches from reaching the company's data."

Cons

"The solution can improve the reporting."
"I would like to see some additional enhancements."
"Upper management wasn't sold on the value proposition."
"Darktrace could expand into EDR (endpoint detection and response) and combine it with its network detection."
"The interface is too mathematical and it should be simplified."
"The pricing needs improvement."
"It's a very complex platform."
"The initial setup is more complex and time-consuming than some solutions."
"The cost of the solution has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Darktrace is expensive. You can pay for the license yearly."
"We had an issue with pricing initially and had to cancel some of the features of the projects to fit the budget. I would like to see pricing that is not broken up into parts so that we can buy the whole package once. Darktrace is more expensive than an average solution, but it's functionality won't match that of an average solution."
"They are too expensive compared with other vendors."
"It was $3,600 a month or $2,000 plus or so. I am not sure. Its licensing is pretty simple."
"The cost of the solution is expensive for smaller businesses. They will not be able to afford it or might not need this type of security solution."
"All of the other modules, such as the licensing modules, are on par. It's one for one."
"The cost is moderate."
"There is an annual license to use Darktrace."
"The cost of the solution is mid-ranged but worth the price."
