Secure access has transformed our audits and weekend operations run smoothly
StrongDM does not support multi-port and distributed clusters, as the raw TCP resource type is strictly single-port and cannot handle protocols requiring multiple concurrent ports or distributed brokers like Kafka. Third-party client compatibility is another area for improvement, as StrongDM is designed to work with the standard Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection on Windows but may not fully support alternative RDP clients like the Windows Store Remote Desktop.Additionally, StrongDM has limited MFA and passwordless options, relying heavily on time-based one-time passwords (OTP) or Duo, lacking support for true passwordless setups like biometrics or hardware YubiKeys, and it does not support per-session MFA. These are the drawbacks that need improvement for StrongDM.

A PAM solution that helps to ensure data security and compliance
The most valuable feature of Sectona Privileged Access Management for protecting Privileged accounts is its built-in launcher. Additionally, the single sign-on capability is good. Sectona's session recording feature is particularly noteworthy because it utilizes minimal storage. Instead of recording entire sessions, it captures activity only when necessary, optimizing storage space. The tool offers a unique feature called the plugin designer, which is distinct in the market. They don't charge for custom connectors; their plugin designer tool is user-friendly. End customers can use it to design the initial steps of connectors. The tool's session management significantly improves your security posture by completely isolating sessions from user devices. This means that even if a user's endpoint is vulnerable or infected, it will not compromise the server they are working on. The session runs on a secure, isolated PAM server; the user only interacts with it through a secure channel.

"I absolutely would say that the best features of StrongDM and what I appreciate about the solution is that time to onboard is absolutely minimal."

"As I don't have at least one to two years of experience with Sectona Privileged Access Management, I cannot share areas for improvement in the solution. To me, Sectona Privileged Access Management has reasonable pricing, but it could still be improved. I'm also unsure if Sectona Privileged Access Management could cover the requirements of large-sized companies, but for small-sized to medium-sized companies, I'd recommend the solution."
"To me, Sectona Privileged Access Management has reasonable pricing, but it could still be improved."
"Sectona needs to think about SaaS solutions and cloud use cases. For example, we need to be able to integrate Sectona PAM with next-generation applications such as Docker and Lambda, as well as ITD pipelines that use privileged user data."
"Sectona Privileged Access Management needs to improve its stability. It needs to enhance the product's stability because of frequent updates. This is crucial for a solution like Privileged Access Management, as organizations rely on stability. When it becomes unstable, it causes panic."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing is per user per month."
"The licensing cost for Sectona Privileged Access Management is reasonable, though I cannot share the figure because that's confidential information. I'm not paying for additional costs because the current license covers my requirements. I'd rate the pricing for Sectona Privileged Access Management a three on a scale of one to five."
