Effective risk management, feature of recording all privileged user activities in a compressed format but limited SaaS capability
There are some areas where the GUI could be improved to make it easier to find and update privileged settings and policies. For example, when creating a PAM policy for Privileged, some of the scroll boxes are difficult to navigate. It would be easier if there were one-click options for checking and unchecking boxes rather than having to scroll down and select individual items. This would make the GUI more user-friendly for administrators and SOC teams. So, I would like to see the GUI made more user-friendly, especially for administrators and SOC teams. In future releases, I would like to be able to manage Sectona PAM by location. For example, I'm the global headquarters lead in India, and we have 200 locations around the world. I would like to be able to create sub-locations, so that when I click on support for a location, the configuration is separate. However, the monitoring should still be at the parent level.

Secure management of sensitive servers and seamless applications with direct linking
The credential injection feature is highly valued, particularly for RDP sessions. A majority of customers use it for RDP, and a couple for Linux servers. The broader capabilities, including access to multiple systems, web-based applications, and clustering, have never posed an issue. The threat analytics aspect is also a robust feature that analyzes all pertinent information.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"A key factor for my company is support, and Sectona Privileged Access Management has good support. Another valuable feature of Sectona Privileged Access Management is that it's easy to onboard."
"The most valuable feature of Sectona Privileged Access Management for protecting Privileged accounts is its built-in launcher. Additionally, the single sign-on capability is good. Sectona's session recording feature is particularly noteworthy because it utilizes minimal storage. Instead of recording entire sessions, it captures activity only when necessary, optimizing storage space."
"The most valuable features of Sectona Privileged Access Management include robust session monitoring for privileged users."
"The most valuable feature is the risk management. When a Privileged user performs a certain command, such as running a script, the system highlights it in the risk management section as high, critical, or medium risk."
"It is the best product for monitoring the recorded session of your IT admins and external consultants."
"When we started analyzing different products, CA was really good."
"I think it's a good solution for anybody who is looking for a single sign-on implementation for administration of the servers."
"The DB clustering is a really good benefit of using CA PAM."
"This solution really makes a big difference."
"For me, it is the robust API which is the most valuable feature."
"Used for securing privileged accounts."
"It has been reliable down the line with new features and updates."

Cons

"To me, Sectona Privileged Access Management has reasonable pricing, but it could still be improved."
"Sectona needs to think about SaaS solutions and cloud use cases. For example, we need to be able to integrate Sectona PAM with next-generation applications such as Docker and Lambda, as well as ITD pipelines that use privileged user data."
"Sectona Privileged Access Management needs to improve its stability. It needs to enhance the product's stability because of frequent updates. This is crucial for a solution like Privileged Access Management, as organizations rely on stability. When it becomes unstable, it causes panic."
"I would like to see future updates include robust support for cloud environments as organizations increasingly move towards cloud-based solutions."
"As I don't have at least one to two years of experience with Sectona Privileged Access Management, I cannot share areas for improvement in the solution. To me, Sectona Privileged Access Management has reasonable pricing, but it could still be improved. I'm also unsure if Sectona Privileged Access Management could cover the requirements of large-sized companies, but for small-sized to medium-sized companies, I'd recommend the solution."
"The service account management functionality needs to be extended to application pools, SQL database, PowerShell scripts, service account discovery, etc."
"The demonstration and consideration portion does not work the best. It's not that intuitive."
"We experience stability issues after every patch upgrade. This is a place where CA needs to improve drastically."
"Yeah, it still does not support HA in Multi AZ subnets."
"We had some issues with the load balancing feature when configured for clustering."
"Reporting is very limited."
"They need to improve how it scales."
"The product has not improved our organization."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Sectona Privileged Access Management's pricing is relatively cheaper and aggressive. It is affordable, especially for the Indian market and globally. Compared to competitors, Sectona offers a very good price range."
"The licensing cost for Sectona Privileged Access Management is reasonable, though I cannot share the figure because that's confidential information. I'm not paying for additional costs because the current license covers my requirements. I'd rate the pricing for Sectona Privileged Access Management a three on a scale of one to five."
"Cost-wise, CA was better compared to others in the market. "
"The prices are not low, but one can ask for a discount. It’s not the cheapest PAM solution."
"The version we are using is affordable compared to BeyondTrust, which is maybe three to four times as expensive, but it depends on the features."
"Don’t go with an agent model. Don’t go with a model that has you buying a thousand different parts. Go with PAM that gives you everything, or you’ll just be paying costs of implementing another tool that PAM would have just given you up front."
"I would prefer better licensing options for the 20-100 users we have at a given time."
"Appliances are relatively cheap, don’t skimp. Make sure you have redundancy, high availability, and enough appliances to manage the concurrent workload."
"Pricing is fair compared to other top vendors."
"It is reasonably priced."
