A cost-effective cloud controller solution for real-time detection
Customers are increasingly focusing on seamless roaming between Dell Ruckus access points. They want to know how quickly and reliably their devices can switch connections as they move around, minimizing downtime and disruptions. Specifically, they are interested in the frequency and aggressiveness of roaming protocols, ensuring smooth transitions without disconnecting from the network. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Reliable wireless coverage has supported busy operations and has improved daily connectivity
We have areas that are interference-prone. I am not using BeamFlex technology with Ruckus Wireless. We are satisfied, but there are some problems in the current Ruckus Wireless solution that we could not solve two years ago, and we are still waiting for a solution. These are lateral management problems, and we solved them with another type of tools. However, I do not know if the new versions of the product have resolved that issue. We had approximately 150 access points at that time, so we had many points to change. We had another solution five years ago, and we changed all the access points to Ruckus Wireless solution as well as the Ruckus Wireless platform to manage all the access points.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is that they do not need to complete a proof of concept."
"The smart antenna is very good."
"Ruckus has allowed us to deploy better Wi-Fi coverage in the past few years."
"This solution has a very good user-to-speed ratio, even when the number of users increases to almost forty, the speed doesn't drop, it manages the traffic in a very smooth way, and I haven't had a single complaint in four years, which is impressive."
"They have all the features in terms of wireless technology. They have most of the features already there in the controller and their wireless system."
"It's stable."
"I haven't heard any complaints about the WiFi equipment at all causing problems."
"I find signal combining and team forming in Ruckus Wireless most valuable."
"Good connection quality."

Cons

"The security needs to be improved because we have had problems with people accessing our network using the VPN."
"Their support has been lacking a little bit and needs to be improved. I have had a ticket open for a month, and it is really hard to get a resolution out of them."
"It could be more stable."
"Mounting options for outdoor access points, I think they could easily improve on that."
"Previously, we would need to purchase appliances every time but it caused our data centers to get filled. Ruckus now has cloud-based controllers. They resolved the issue we were having."
"Could be more user friendly."
"Its security can be improved. It doesn't use Wireless IPS. Therefore, we have to combine WatchGuard that uses a Wireless IPS but is a separate solution. These two solutions work in conjunction. We are using the WatchGuard as a sensor and Wireless IPS, and Ruckus is like a platform that is used for the connectivity of the network."
"The solution is sensitive with reference to power fluctuations. This sensitivity should be improved. Additionally, the solution should have more security features integrated."
"The initial setup could be more straightforward. It would be better if we could seamlessly integrate security tools like a firewall or IPS with Ruckus Wireless."
