Gives us everything we need to ensure that our customers have a safe and reliable authentication system
It would be nice to have a export button to file with all tenants/users so that in case of a disaster we will have the option to restore the users from file. For security certifications, we need to make sure we can restore all of our products and data in minimal time. We are backing up the data using the API but it will be better to export everything to an external file so in case of a disaster or mistake from our side, we can have the option to reload all the users and assign them to the relevant tenant as fast as possible

Single sign-on has simplified access while adaptive authentication protects complex user journeys
Regarding areas for improvement in Ping Identity Platform, there is not much. In terms of licensing and implementation costs, it has premium pricing, and it has a very complex implementation. It provides greater feasibility, but it takes a very long time in terms of complete building. There is a very limited number of legacy support, which can pose potential difficulties in integrating with certain older or legacy systems. Additionally, issue troubleshooting can be difficult at times. Sometimes issues can be difficult to diagnose and require extensive technical expertise. There is also a very steep learning curve for administrative purposes and potential difficulties with offline authentication scenarios.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SaaS companies like ours can just focus on what matters and not spend time on building SaaS essentials such as audit logs, SSO etc."
"It has Audit Log and many cool features that if we were to develop them by ourselves, it would require a lot of research and development resources. Frontegg gives us everything we need to ensure that our customers have a safe and reliable authentication system in which they can also manage some of the features and roles by themself which gives them more control over their environment."
"We like the SSO, permissions and roles, multiple workspaces, and react login components."
"The MFA policy via Frontegg allows us to enable/disable/enforce the Multi-Factor Authentication policy of our users and to enhance security and adhere to modern standards."
"The frontend side is a major benefit that I am happy I can give my customers from day one, without compromising."
"The admin portal layer is super useful and saves valuable front-end development time."
"Frontegg enabled us to worry less about parts of the system that are not unique to our product, and instead spend more time developing out key value propositions."
"Every feature is multi-tenant by design, making different customer requests effortless to provide."
"I work on the application onboarding process because we have multiple customers and get data from different sources."
"PingFederate is very flexible. We can do many customizations, and it also provides an SDK to tailor it to our specific requirements. There are also numerous plugins available. I've worked with tools like ForgeRock and Okta, but I find PingFederate to be the most customizable."
"It's pretty stable as a product."
"It offers robust features and customization options that justify the cost."
"We use the product to run different reports."
"It's convenient for users to log in through Ping using the Kerberos adapter because it doesn't require them to authenticate again."
"PingFederate gives you granular control over the settings. There are many options for fine-tuning policies."
"It is a very stable solution."

Cons

"We really like the ability to add the same user across tenants. From a UX perspective, the flow can be betterized."
"The PHP SDK is limited. It's not a huge deal as we can just use their web API directly, but it is something to note if you're using PHP.‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎"
"Frontegg is fairly stable, however, we are looking forward to some promised capabilities, such as more tightly integrated Feature Flag support."
"We're hoping to see more user management-related features, according to Frontegg's roadmap."
"It would be nice to have a export button to file with all tenants/users so that in case of a disaster we will have the option to restore the users from file."
"The web interface is missing a way to delete a workspace. I have accidentally created a workspace and was not able to delete it. It's a minor thing that should be supported."
"The PHP SDK is limited."
"The product is not customizable."
"We can choose a drop-down to search for which certificate we have to create, which is difficult."
"PingID should put a little more effort into making a pretty self-explanatory deck about their tech features and the services they offer."
"PingID's device management portal should be more easily accessible via a link. They provide no link to the portal like they do for the service. The passwordless functionality could be more comprehensive. You can't filter based on hardware devices. Having that filtering option would be great. Device authentication would be a great feature."
"From the improvement perspective, they could bring IGA capability, which right now they only have in their SaaS offering."
"If the solution is going to compete with Microsoft, they need to offer more unique functionality to keep their current user base."
"Many times when we are authenticating, we'd like the freedom to set the time; maybe it needs to be slightly longer, and before we can authenticate it, it ends up in an error and then we have to create everything all over again in terms of launching the application."
"The timing of the token validity, if it could be extended, would be great. I'm not sure if there is even an option to configure these types of settings."
