Generative AI automates access reviews and provides workflow efficiencies
I work with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), IT Service Management (ITSM), and Customer Service Management (CSM) modules of ServiceNow. My project is related to cybersecurity. I have touched on generative AI and integrations like SOAP APIs. I have used the Ping Identity Platform for seamless…

Improved user experience with seamless integration and easy installation
The feature that I mostly valued is the ease of installation on different systems, especially on Windows. Additionally, it is very beneficial for deploying single sign-on sessions between different windows on a web browser, provided I am connected to the right identity provider. That seamless integration significantly improves user experience and efficiency.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I would recommend PingFederate as an IAM solution for its no-code environment, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, bidirectional services, and advanced features."
"I work on the application onboarding process because we have multiple customers and get data from different sources."
"It is a scalable solution...It is a stable solution."
"It's convenient for users to log in through Ping using the Kerberos adapter because it doesn't require them to authenticate again."
"It is a scalable solution."
"The most valuable feature is multifactor authentication."
"It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"It provides ease of connecting all our devices."
"I really like the robust functionality that this solution offers, such as federation, OAuth, security, and multi-tenancy, just to name a few."
"It's agent-based. It's convenient to deploy and integrate."
"We have three single sign-on products in our office and I believe that the CA product offers the best product of the three."
"SiteMinder is an industry leading solution as everyone is using it."
"It's really increased the security of our applications, and in some cases, has provided much more security."
"The solution is easy to use for our managers."
"It provides us with authentications, authorizations, and basically providing the client with better secure services."
"Symantec Siteminder Is both scalable and stable."

Cons

"The solution should allow for better integration with other platforms and the UBT."
"In Ping Identity, we have had some issues. We've worked with logging and troubleshooting, including some firewall and security issues."
"PingID would benefit from a better user interface for integration."
"They could enhance the product's device tracking for better zero-trust security would be beneficial. Currently, it tracks IPs well but lacks detailed device information, which is crucial from a security standpoint."
"PingID's device management portal should be more easily accessible via a link. They provide no link to the portal like they do for the service. The passwordless functionality could be more comprehensive. You can't filter based on hardware devices. Having that filtering option would be great. Device authentication would be a great feature."
"The timing of the token validity, if it could be extended, would be great. I'm not sure if there is even an option to configure these types of settings."
"The management console needs to be improved. PingID should revise it."
"PingID classifies the type of environment into internal and external, which is an area for improvement because you need to take additional steps to trust internal and external users."
"The installation process was complex. There are a lot of different moving pieces, and the main complaint is that it's hard to automate any of it."
"I used to get the runaround initially. They would ask us the same four questions all the time."
"The look and feel was not good in the earlier product."
"We go by agents for authentication; anything relating to agent configuration could be improved, or even agentless security."
"If the reporting feature can be integrated into SSO itself that will be an icing on the cake."
"Once you get past the first level, it’s good support. Typically once you’ve supported the CA product for a couple of years, you probably know more than first-level support, so it’s frustrating to explain to them the issue."
"I would like to see more usability; more customer usability."
"We're currently unable to find information about if the solution can do a full implementation with SQL. Some better and more accessible documentation for new users or those curious about the product would be helpful."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is quite affordable."
"Compared to some SaaS-based solutions, the platform is relatively cost-effective."
"The platform's value justifies the pricing, especially considering its security features and scalability."
"Ping Identity Platform is not an expensive solution."
"The pricing is neither too expensive nor too cheap."
"PingID pricing is a ten out of ten because it's a little bit cheaper than other tools, such as Okta and ForgeRock, and supports multiple tools."
"Ping offers flexible pricing that's not standardized."
"Ping Identity Platform is not very expensive."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Siteminder is a little costly. You pay for licensing, and they offer packages, so if you have less users, then you have to buy different products at different prices. If you have more of a user base, then the package is different. They also include other features—for example, if you have a database and you're using Siteminder, then it's good to use a Semantic-specific database, but if you are using less, then you have to purchase the database separately. Whereas if you are going for a bigger license, then it comes within the package. It depends on which plan you are using."
"The price is quite comparable to the other enterprise-level solutions in that market."
"I recommend conducting a PoC on every available product before choose one."
"The solution's pricing is competitive."
"Symantec Siteminder is expensive; they could definitely do better on the price."
"The licensing is fair for this solution."
"CA solutions are generally expensive but for the customer the ROI is big."
