Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources
The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure. First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%. It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

The solution can be used for internal file transfer, but its technical support and third-party integrations should be improved
I am comparing SolarWinds Serv-U File Transfer Protocol Server, WS_FTP, and Wing FTP for my current company. We use the solution for multiple purposes, and it should be user-friendly when integrating something. We cannot always depend on the support team to come and fix the issues. Overall, I rate SolarWinds Serv-U File Transfer Protocol Server a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"GoAnywhere MFT is easier and more stable than IBM Sterling, and it is also more enterprise-friendly."
"Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT offers robust security as its most valuable feature."
"The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure; it saves about 80 to 90% resources and 90 to 95% time because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and enables users to access files through a centralized directory."
"The main benefits I have seen from using GoAnywhere MFT are related to data security because our patient reports are very critical, and it was very challenging for us to securely deliver these reports to different hospitals."
"GoAnywhere makes it easy to move files around. We have quite a bit of information we have to transfer to around 300 different companies that require us to send data on a regular basis. If we did this manually, it would require several employees."
"We are a review website for enterprise IT, and we perform two main functions: First, we publish these reviews for other people to read, either publicly or anonymously; second, we work directly with vendors who are interested in understanding what users think about their product."
"GoAnywhere MFT is a great file-specific, file transfer-specific, and encryption-specific solution."
"When we were doing the demo, we took one project from the old system and got it running in GoAnywhere in less than 30 minutes. That says a lot. I've written queries and understand code, so I'm not a novice. Still, I think that's pretty impressive for a software product to be able to deliver a functional use case in half an hour."
"We use SolarWinds Serv-U File Transfer Protocol Server for internal file transfer."

Cons

"I want to highlight the user interface as an area for improvement in GoAnywhere MFT, as it is slightly difficult to understand."
"Sometimes they took some long time to solve the issue, but they definitely solve the issue."
"We are a little concerned because the maximum number of open connections allowed is 200, and we are pretty much maxed out... if they expanded the number of open connections allowed, we would be better off."
"GoAnywhere MFT has lower capabilities because it has limited features, but it serves its purpose."
"The technical support response time has room for improvement."
"I want to be able to use GoAnywhere to create customizable reports that I can share with the MSP containing any information related to file transfers."
"While the technical support team is knowledgeable, their response time for critical issues needs improvement. A response within one business day is insufficient for urgent matters."
"The support desk has room for improvement. I keep opening tickets and they keep telling me that they're closed, but they're not resolved."
"The solution’s technical support should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other tools it's less expensive."
"Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT carries a higher price tag than other MFT solutions."
"It has flexible and affordable pricing because of custom quotes. The prices depend on the modules one needs and the volume of data being transferred. Overall, they offer custom and flexible pricing with an annual subscription, where you pay for specific features and functionality required."
"The cost was definitely within reason and it has definitely been worth the cost, based on how much we can automate. It has exceeded my expectations."
"The pricing for GoAnywhere MFT seems reasonable when compared to other similar services, especially cloud services. Azure is significantly more expensive."
"It is very attractive. In terms of the capacity of the product and functionality, it is a good price."
"Licensing can be expensive and it depends upon which features you want to buy."
"It would be good for the company to explore a modular approach to selling the product so it could be cheaper and more attractive to users."
"The pricing of the solution is INR 3,00,000."
