Analytics integration has improved how I manage user identity and understand customer behavior
I face difficulties with the authentication parts in Google Firebase when it goes with iOS applications. With Android applications, that is easier because Google owns it. When it goes to iOS applications, there should be a much more straightforward, smoother way. I mostly faced that with Flutter because with Flutter, there are two sides with Android and iOS. The Android part was pretty much easier for me, but when it goes to the iOS part, there was more work on that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We used it to create credentials for DART for our Android and Flutter applications."
"The price of Google Firebase is very good."
"I found the flexibility of handling and dealing with the database through EDL to be very useful."
"The main feature for us is that the tools are all in one place and that you don't need to bother with the backend system and the infrastructure."
"The connection between Firebase and the integrated development environments, especially when using Android Studio, is crucial as it saves time."
"Firebase has been helpful in providing analytics and crash insights."
"Google Firebase is my top option, and I do not currently find any other competitors that match its offering."
"The solution is stable."
"We hired a third company to stress test the system and it was above and beyond in terms of what we expected."
"We efficiently move resources between major engineering projects."
"Automation and self-healing."

Cons

"I rate the support from Google Firebase a four out of five."
"I would like to have a facility for testing possible scenarios by writing dummy data and then doing different queries."
"Firebase's real-time information isn't technically real-time. It takes a while to upload user activity into the app. It's not as fast as Datadog, the other solution we use."
"Google Cloud Functions (which is still a BETA version) needs to have more control over the uploaded functions. That is, it needs more options for controlling the functions itself."
"In Google Firebase, reporting is an area with shortcomings where improvements are required to be made in the future."
"In terms of DevOps, such as CI/CD deployments and integrating webhooks with GitHub, GitLab, or other platforms, Firebase does not offer those capabilities at that level."
"The platform's bandwidth is quite expensive. Its price could be better."
"If I were to review the service, it would be about paid functionalities, like implementing notifications, is easy, but debugging is not."
"Oracle engine. Google and Azure API."
"Initial setup was complex at the beginning as the system was still lacking some important features, while every new release required a full reinstallation."
"We never had an issue with stability, but when we implemented the product, there were certain places where we weren't sure that they are completely aligned with our goals, in terms of how we use the system to get there."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the price of Google Firebase a four out of five."
"My company makes very minimal payments toward the licensing costs of the solution."
"The price of Google Firebase is very good."
"It is an expensive tool."
"The tool is affordable."
"The solution's price is based on the number of consumers."
"Google Firebase’s pricing needs improvement."
"Pricing for Google Firebase is not so expensive, and if you're a start-up with a small amount of data, it will be quite cheap, and there's even a free tier that you can use. If you're doing a pilot with a reasonable amount of data, for example, just a few gigabytes, it's still on the free tier. If you increase the amount of data, Google Firebase pricing is still reasonable."
