Simplified meeting management with intuitive layout options and an easy setup
I use Google Meet to set up meetings. I also use it to block my calendar for times when I am unavailable, such as during lunch We use Google Meet along with Google Calendar, which really helps with productivity. I appreciate that sharing the nine-digit code for meetings is simpler compared to…

Helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done and offers the breakout rooms feature.
We are a team located across various locations. Not in the same geographic location. We are distributed. And it's not possible to physically travel and meet people. Sometimes it's simply not possible. But Zoom has helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done. Without Zoom, it would have been very, very difficult. The breakout rooms feature is also helpful. For example, I have a meeting attended by hundreds of people and want to create subgroups. I typically use it for different role-play scenarios during training if we are trying to conduct some training on presentation skills. So there's a large group, which is initially trained by an instructor. Then you get instructions that the room will be split into smaller breakout rooms. I'll give you a topic, and you'll practice in these smaller groups. That's one way I use it. So it's like a simulation of a real brainstorming session I'd have in a physical space.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its ease of use is most valuable. It is just a click, and you're in the system."
"Google Hangouts is easy to use and intuitive."
"I think that Google Meet allows for easy interaction and has additional features, such as background blurring, among others."
"The ease of navigation is good, as we can easily share data and screens."
"I find that Google Hangouts is very quick and easy to create a meeting, which is its biggest benefit."
"The installation part of the product is easy since one generally needs to use a browser to use the product."
"This is a stable solution."
"The technical support team for Google Hangouts has been pretty responsive and could solve whatever challenges arise, within a day or two."
"I find Zoom's sharing features, particularly presenting slides, quite useful. While I'm uncertain if it outperforms Teams in this aspect, I appreciate its functionality. Its breakout room feature is good."
"The most valuable features of Zoom for enhanced team collaboration are its high video quality, comprehensive meeting features, and reliable performance."
"The interface makes it simple to use."
"Zoom is quite easy to use and user-friendly."
"I don't have any issue with the pricing."
"Zoom is a scalable solution, we have 150,000 people using it in my organization."
"The installation was easy."
"One of the biggest features of Zoom is its stability."

Cons

"There could be more precise instructions for beginners using the solution."
"Collaboration in Google Hangouts has room for improvement compared to Microsoft Teams. On Microsoft Teams, you can share a document directly and work on that document all at once, in real-time, with other team members, which isn't the case with Google Hangouts."
"Support could be a bit faster."
"One area where I see room for improvement in Google Hangout is the voice quality during meetings."
"Google Hangouts restricts you to those with a Gmail account."
"The platform's screen-sharing feature and the participant panel could be improved."
"I would like to see more focus on features for interacting with the participants in a group chat, such as screen sharing."
"The solution can improve by having more integration with different platforms."
"The cost should be cheaper."
"Considering the main function of Zoom, it should make the video functioning part a little bit more friendly."
"The stability has been good but it could still improve. However, I have not found a better solution."
"They may need to scale it some more in terms of global users."
"Zoom could use more background options."
"It would be useful, for my purposes, to be able to run a meeting like a webinar where the solution doesn't show all of the people on the actual call. It would be great if it had the flexibility to allow people to "hide" themselves from the meeting, or to give the person running the meeting the capability of choosing who could be seen, or not."
"They need to improve the background feature, to be able to set a background without interfering with the current background."
"Troubleshooting can be complicated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Google Hangouts has reasonable pricing, but I don't use the paid version because I only have a small budget, though you get more features from the paid version."
"This solution is available for free with the opening of a Google account."
"I think there is a need for payment for licensing, but as students, we didn't have to pay for it when we were using it. Our professors were the ones paying for it since they needed to record the sessions."
"There is a need to make certain payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product and some other tools that are included in the suite offered by Google. Google Hangouts alone as a product is available for free."
"The solution is affordable."
"The price is $149 USD yearly."
"It is reasonable. It has a monthly license."
"There is a licensing fee and although the price is fair, it can be a little cheaper."
"We have an annual subscription to the solution. The price could be reduced."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee for Zoom, which is expensive in our part of the world."
"The pricing is too high. The cost of the license could be cheaper."
"We purchased a license for Zoom."
