Offers great audio and video quality for virtual meetings
I like the instant messaging feature in the product since I prefer to use the chat functionalities provided by the solution. It is easy to integrate the product with some of the other solutions in the market. I rate the integration capabilities of the product a ten out of ten. The product's user interface is user-friendly. I use the product at a personal level, so I can't speak about the support it provides for the maintenance part. I rate the overall tool a ten out of ten.

Utilizing versatile features for efficient personal and work meetings
Zoom offers a number of interesting and valuable features. One of the most interesting is the ability to share only audio and provide ambient music without sharing a screen. The breakout room feature is much more developed than other solutions, allowing users to stay in the same meeting and move to different rooms and back to the main room. The sharing features are great for projecting people who should be in focus. Another valuable feature is the virtual entrance, which uses a username and password recognized by the Zoom system, showing the person's full name and ID. Additionally, the use of video and a good fixed background improves visibility compared to other applications. These features differentiate Zoom from others.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is scalable and is capable of working on every appliance on every operating system."
"People are now able to virtually collaborate with their staff and have a conference call. We don't need a phone line to make that conference call and we are saving on that. People are able to share their presentations. Also, they can chat using the Skype"
"The Microsoft tech support are very good. They get back to you. I log a support call, and I usually have someone on the phone within a half an hour, so it is pretty good."
"We chose Skype for Business after other colleagues suggested that we give it a try. It has served us well."
"I like the seamless integration to local telecommunications."
"Our employees use this solution for a communal space to collaborate for organizational decision making."
"The calling features are most valuable, especially now as we are working remotely."
"One of the best features of Skype for Business is that you can set it up on mobile phones, and you can set it up on laptops. You can connect to the tool from anywhere."
"The biggest advantage with Zoom, compared to other similar products, is the simplicity."
"Zoom's interface is nice and has good performance."
"It always works, and they try to appeal to what the user wants. They added features like background music for those people who use Zoom for online church services. They try to make the solution more useful for the user. For example, I tried to sell WebEx to a church, but I also gave them Zoom for a trial. They were impressed with that because that was the feature they were looking for."
"The performance is good."
"The most valuable features of Zoom are the audio and video quality and the ease of use when setting up meetings."
"This video conferencing product is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use."
"Easy to use whenever and wherever necessary."

Cons

"The technical support from Microsoft needs to be improved."
"The solution should improve the chat and add more flexibility to make a call."
"The cost of Skype for Business has room for improvement."
"The video conferencing quality can be improved."
"The solution lacks to provide reporting functionality, and I would like to see the solution provide that feature."
"Skype for Business could improve by having a document channel or repository. Microsoft Teams has a better repository place for documents that you can share with your team. You can access it anywhere from any device."
"The user experience during long sessions could be improved to avoid issues like intermittent disconnections or login failures."
"There might be some invitation issues with Skype for Business."
"It does take up a lot of computer bandwidth, which can slow down performance, especially when I'm sharing screens."
"The product's interface needs enhancement."
"Sound is not an issue, however, with video I've always had issues when using the free service."
"I'd like to see more integration with Google Calendaring. When meetings are scheduled they are added into a Google Calendar. For example, if I am driving my car there are often times I have to pull off the road to join into a meeting as opposed to being able to click the link and have it startup. Sometimes I can do that, sometimes I can't, it all depends on how the meeting was generated initially."
"The solution needs to have a feature that allows you to take over another person's screen. right now, that's not possible. This is important for our purposes due to the act that we are often using the solution to troubleshoot issues for our clients. If we could just take over their screen and go in and fix issues, it would make troubleshooting infinitely easier."
"The interface could be more user-friendly."
"The user interface is old-fashioned, especially when there are many participants and a lot of tiles appear."
"Zoom needs to address the privacy issues I've heard about."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using the subscription-based version of Skype for Business. There is a free version of the solution."
"To realize value from the purchase of Skype Business, you need to take advantage of all the important functions of the program."
"Our company pays for a license for us to use the solution."
"The pricing is really good. It is quite affordable because it came with our Office 365. It is on a per-user license, which is nice. I quite like that they have made it very granular with all of their licensing."
"We had a license for every one of our users to use Skype for Business. The license we used was part of an overall Microsoft license package."
"We negotiated a fair price with Microsoft. It is definitely worthwhile to negotiate with them for the best price for your solution."
"A license is required to use the solution."
"Previously, I did not use another solution."
"The price is $149 USD yearly."
"I am using the free version of the solution. However, it has a time limit of 45 minutes for meetings. We do not have meetings longer than 45 minutes, it is fine for us."
"There is a free version of Zoom which allows you a certain limited amount of time usage and there is a corporate version of the solution where you have to pay."
"The annual price of approximately $200 for the solution is reasonable."
"In the basic version, there is a 40-minute time limit on group meetings."
"We have to pay for the product's license."
"I use the free version of Zoom that is available for download."
"The exact costs are handled on a corporate level, however, I understand that if you just want to own a license for your small business or something like that, it's around $300 a year, which is very reasonable."
