Unified dashboards have empowered teams and have democratized real-time operational insights
Grafana's snapshot and dashboard sharing features are critical for our remote incident response. During production issues, I generate a public snapshot of a dashboard at a specific point and share the URL in our Slack war room so every engineer can see exactly what the metrics looked like when the error occurred. This helps significantly during the process of finding the root cause in those scenarios. The best features Grafana offers go beyond just pretty charts; it is an integration engine. The fact that I can join data from my SQL database with metrics from Prometheus in the same table is a feature I have not found performed as well elsewhere. My team uses this feature by comparing two different tables from the databases to show one single view, which Grafana is really helping with. In a visualized way, the charts can be displayed on one dashboard, allowing end users who are not familiar with these technical aspects to extract valuable data from it. Grafana has positively impacted our organization by democratizing data within our company. Before using Grafana, only developers could see the system health, but now our product managers and executives have their own high-level dashboards, which has improved cross-departmental transparency and alignment.

Pros

"The best thing about Grafana is the visualization. The colors and the ease of use make it very user-friendly."
"The installation process is easy. We have deployed it on the cloud. I have around 20 to 30 people using the solution in my company."
"We chose this solution because it met the requirements of visualizing and monitoring to make decisions."
"It has good stability."
"The dashboards are very easy to work with."
"Kubernetes could help us to better visualize the trend of our data by recording and displaying our history over a chosen duration, such as the last 30 days."
"The solution is adaptable, easy to use, and works well for microservices development."
"The main benefits I have seen from using Grafana in my day-to-day activities is the visualization of the metrics, specifically Dora Metrics."
"ManageEngine Applications Manager's installation is pretty easy."
"For a small organization, I think ManageEngine is pretty nice, I think it's enough."
"Depending on the size of the environment, this is a solution that I recommend."
"I used it extensively for a year, and prior to that, I was very comfortable."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to be able to monitor Kubernetes."
"Its price and the flexibility to deploy are the most valuable. Flexibility is very important, and you can scale from very basic to more complex. This solution is a part of a complete suite of management tools. So, it can be integrated with other solutions for monitoring networks, which is very important. You can expand it or interconnect it with many other tools, which is a powerful feature. We have a very good and long relationship with ManageEngine support guys. They provide very good support for us."
"We do not have pricing constraints as an organization, because we do have reservations about ManageEngine being functionally scalable."
"The feature that I have found most valuable in ManageEngine Applications Manager is its dashboard."

Cons

"Grafana could improve by having its own query language. Currently, it uses languages like Prometheus or InfluxDB, which not everyone knows. Their query language should be easier."
"There is room for improvement when using multiple dashboards because they can become complicated to keep track of and use."
"I would give it a ten if it were much simpler for users who just want to get a simple objective in Grafana and are not experienced with technical configuration."
"I don't believe that Grafana fulfilled the requirements completely. That's why we moved to Datadog."
"Grafana doesn't provide anything for reporting."
"We need different kinds of applications in our infrastructure to see information in Grafana."
"The product could be improved with a feature that provides detailed error messages when we encounter issues."
"The look and feel of the charting and graph capabilities in Grafana could improve."
"More modem support for SMS feature."
"I would say that the implementation of ManageEngine Applications Manager is too detailed. You need some training to effectually use it."
"At the moment, we are not finding this solution to be very stable. We've had a lot of calls with the vendor to sort things out."
"The agent often crashes when there is too much load on the application side. If a sudden storm of data comes in, the agent crashes down most of the time."
"The main issue with ManageEngine is that it only functions as a record-keeping system, it has never had an IT framework in place."
"My suggestion for improving this feature is to also monitor the end-user experience for application clients and servers."
"They can improve the post-processing of the data."
"The information provided by ManageEngine is not deep-dive like IBM and CA provide."
