Provides time-saving solutions for small business payrolls
I would say, relative to another payroll solution, running payroll with Gusto probably costs half the price and saves us 5 to 10 hours a month. I would say Gusto is a really good payroll solution for small businesses. Running payroll with Gusto costs half the price and saves us 5 to 10 hours a month. My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer. I was not offered a gift card or incentive for this review. I rated Gusto 9 out of 10 because of some customer support issues that kept it from being a 10.

Integrated HR workflows have improved hiring and payroll but added features still need fair pricing
What I appreciate most about Paycom is that it is all integrated into one system, so I do not have to go to an ATS to find applicants or have different performance management software. I can have time and attendance and payroll in the same platform, which I value because it is not clunky and all works together very seamlessly. I am using the workflow automation feature of Paycom. The workflow automation works very well for us, and we have set up processes so that there are no blind spots, ensuring the CFO's approval on positions, which is beneficial as we do not miss anything.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the payroll part. We also use documents and forms whenever we hire, such as a new hire form for each state, and we like that as well."
"Gusto is a really good payroll solution for small businesses."
"I think the most value I have gotten from Gusto has been the interface, as it's very simple to use and it's very easy to understand."
"We used QuickBooks before Gusto; we switched because Gusto is much easier, and it also is used for payroll as an HR IT solution with multiple uses."
"I appreciated the templates that they offered for new hires and onboarding."
"Paycom's customer support is excellent, and I would rate the customer support a ten."
"Everything being in one system has been a really significant game changer for us."
"Paycom's governance and security are outstanding."
"Automating that payroll process greatly impacted my stress levels and I have never made a mistake, with it always being one hundred percent accurate due to Paycom's ability to match with the employee code."
"Paycom is very useful for the compliance part, with automatic real-time reports that are very easy to understand so we do not have to work or calculate anything manually."
"In my experience, Paycom is stable."
"Paycom is such a customizable platform that you can really create and tailor it to meet your organizational needs."
"What I appreciate most about Paycom is that it is all integrated into one system, so I do not have to go to an ATS to find applicants or have different performance management software."

Cons

"Their enrollment e-signature, enrollment forms, and other documents need a lot of work. Once we fill in the information, we cannot go back and change any of that. It's a time-taking process. If there is any mistake in the document and if we need to go and change a specific field in the form, it's not possible. We have to redo the entire form."
"The integration is not so good."
"My experience with Gusto's customer support sometimes shows they're not responsive, and they have definitely made mistakes in the past."
"In the beginning, their support was top-notch. And then around the beginning of 2022, and end of 2021, their support tanked. We used to get responses in the beginning within one to two business days, and towards the end, we were getting responses in one to two business weeks."
"Their enrollment e-signature, enrollment forms, and other documents need a lot of work."
"I rate Paycom an eight because we are a complex organization that has a lot of secondary jobs and it is not user friendly when employees are trying to clock into those secondary jobs if they are not on the schedule; they have to select too many fields to be able to clock into the correct position."
"It is also very time-consuming to set up the system, so if someone is looking to set up a system very quickly within one month, it would be incredibly overwhelming."
"Paycom can improve with the utilization of the interactive chatting capability and by providing users with alternative options on how to utilize the knowledge-based database to help users learn new information and keep updated with training sessions."
"Additionally, Paycom is getting slower day by day, and the timecard search feature is not working well."
"What I dislike about Paycom is that they charge for everything, which is frustrating because they recently added succession planning as an add-on that is not free."
"When they had an update, we had a lot of issues with Paycom, but they have addressed it, and after that, we have not seen any."
"Paycom has a lot of things to improve, especially customer service, which is very difficult because they change the account manager frequently, so we don't know who we're going to talk to."
"The reporting aspect of Paycom is not my favorite. The lack of a sandbox and the lack of being able to view as a different viewer is extremely frustrating in this system."
