Provides detection logic that tells us which customer will record an update and is less expensive than other solutions
I haven't had experience with customer service and support, however, we did have an advisory case with one of their technical support staff. We were publishing and getting the full metadata for the patch. We were getting the full updates for the patch release. There was confusion as to why we were seeing that in the SCCM, instead of in the full metadata patch. The support person was able to help us in understanding what we were doing wrong, highlighting it could be a certificate issue. We generated a new certificate, and after they were applied, the issue was fixed. Overall, I would rate their customer service and support a five out of five.

Has supported routine update requests and maintained reliable system operations
I think that the most valuable feature of Microsoft Windows Server Update Services is the update for Microsoft Windows Server, as we do not use any other tools, but I don't know if Office 365 is under Windows update services regulation; it is not in our domain because we use it, but other teams are responsible for this task. The key features or benefits of Microsoft Windows Server Update Services that have been most valuable in my IT administration processes are just the services for updating my Windows and Windows Servers, and as I mentioned, we don't use many applications; we just use it for Windows updates. Microsoft Windows Server Update Services supports our regular requests for reliable systems, and updates are part of the process of keeping those systems stable, reliable, and confidential.

"The most valuable feature is its ability to identify which updates are needed on a particular machine."
"We can easily download particular patches, and we can apply them on a group basis and policy basis."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Active Directory."
"The biggest benefit of Microsoft Windows Server Update Services is that it secures the environment, securing the data points of security and vulnerability, which helps these patches secure our environment and solutions or assets."
"The most valuable feature is the integration of updates with our AD management."

"The platform provides good value in terms of time and effort by eliminating the need for manual patch management."

Cons

"In future releases, I would like to see improvements with the feature upgrade for the SCCM, which Microsoft has already integrated. Currently, Ivanti does not give us information about the enablement package."
"We have some problems with patches not installing successfully."
"The platform’s dashboard and reporting features need enhancement."
"The product needs to improve its user interface."

"Microsoft Windows Server Update Services needs to improve its reporting feature. The tool's competitor has better reporting capabilities."
"This is a good product and it does its job but it's quite complex to configure, implement, and maintain, and the interface is terrible, so I rate it eight out of 10."
"Microsoft Windows Server Update Services could improve the ease of use."
"The ability to have more fine control within this solution is very important. It is not available for the solution in its current state."
"The main problem with WSUS is that the management console doesn't allow you to do a lot of operations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We do not have a license with Ivanti, instead we buy just the plugins for the consoles, making it a much less expensive option versus other solutions."
"The solution is expensive, and the licensing costs are yearly."
"The product is not expensive."
"The integration is included in the Windows Server system, and there are no additional fees."
"Because it is not open-source, it has to compete with open-source solutions. Relatively it is expensive to open-source."
"The WSUS cost is included in Microsoft Windows, and there are no licensing fees."
"Microsoft Windows Server Update Services is not an expensive solution."
"Microsoft's operating model determines the solution's pricing, and we use it based on our enterprise agreement, which incurs an annual cost."
"The tool could be cheaper."
