Has a straightforward setup process and efficient project management features .
Jira Align supports program increment planning by facilitating the planning aspect, including team setup, dependency management, and defining the layout for each step or stage in a project. The platform aids in breaking down targets into parts, aligning with Agile principles, and ensuring a structured layout. The most impactful feature of Jira Align for project management lies in its capabilities related to planning and setting up projects. The platform visually understands targets, offering a clear and detailed layout. We can determine when to speed up the process or access the project. We can address the issues related to planning and development efficiently. It is a great product to use, aiding in project planning and alignment. I recommend it to others and rate it a ten out of ten.

Version control is excellent and good for code review, branching, merging strategies and more
I've worked with TFS for source control and Agile project management. We also used TFS for seamless team collaboration and tracking.  I used TFS for a couple of years. Now, we use Azure DevOps. It's a wonderful tool for source control and CI/CD pipelines It's a really valuable tool for…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Jira Align has been quite a helpful tool for us because, without it, we would be juggling with all our story points or our backlog items, which would be difficult to manage."
"The tool helps us to stick with the timeline and budget of our projects. It also helps me to identify dependencies and red flags and intervene wherever possible. I have found the key metrics tab also useful."
"I like the way the UI functions."
"Jira Align's most valuable feature is the view of strategic control reports for high-level directors."
"The technical support team responds quickly and resolves issues effectively."
"I've had no issues with Align's stability."
"I like Jira's structured project plan, with tasks and subtasks. Jira can use various external plugins. Third-party providers can add new features to the solution. If I need some functionality, I can usually find an app for it. They have thousands."
"Velocity and reporting provide good visibility, burndown charts, and particularly velocity measurement."
"I feel that the test plan and test tools are more manageable in TFS."
"The interface is good with TFS."
"Build definitions and releases within the product. allow us to put our latest applications in the field."
"I like the build management features and the integration with Jenkins and many other tools."
"The solution's iteration board is good because you can track all your work with it."
"Version Control: TFS offers both the centralized “TFVC” version control technology as well as the distributed “Git” version control technology."
"TFS is very user-friendly."
"It's an integrated system that includes all the information that we need to deliver our products smoothly and to track the progress of each piece of code."

Cons

"In my company, we found the solution to have many issues regarding its ability to handle claims and other processes since the solution is not available on a single window."
"AI is utilized worldwide; they could implement the functionality for notifications and other organizational operations in the product."
"One of the biggest issues I found in the new version was once we clicked on one of the tasks that were specifically for our group and went to look at the other portfolios in other areas we had to browse all the way back to the beginning. If you click the back button, it would not work, it stayed the same place. Additionally, if you click on page B, but then you wanted to go back to page A it would not go back to page A. You would have to browse back to the portfolio and then find your group again and open it. This was the only issue that I had with it and I am not sure if it is a Jira issue or it was because of the way the site was laid out."
"Jira Align's cost needs improvement."
"Jira Align's user interface needs improvement because its user experience is really bad."
"One area where Jira Align could be improved is mobile accessibility."
"For future releases of Jira Align, I would suggest making workflows simpler and more user-friendly."
"Jira Align should reduce the many information fields we need to provide while closing defects."
"I would like to see TFS improve its web interface as there are some limitations with IDs and the integration behind it and with open-source tools like VS Code."
"TFS should allow more integration with different platforms."
"Microsoft should discontinue the use of SharePoint as I don’t really see any value add to TFS, document management features can be included in TFS web portal itself, if required!"
"The usability of TFS is not that great."
"The solution's server for deployment needs to be improved."
"Merging branches is definitely one of the more challenging aspects for people new to TFS."
"More options could be provided from the perspective of requirements management, which would help product owners to use the tool effectively."
"The execution of test cases could stand improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Jira Align's pricing is reasonable."
"I would rate this solution a nine out of ten for pricing. The price of the solution depends on the number of people using it and the projects you are working on."
"Jira Align was reasonably priced then, especially for a bundle license that accommodated around 50 monthly users."
"The software is very good, but the price is expensive. Our licensing costs are on a monthly basis, but there are no additional costs to the standard license fees."
"The tool is moderately expensive."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate Jira Align a seven out of ten."
"Jira Align has price packages for different purposes."
"Jira Align is an expensive solution."
"I believe we pay on a yearly basis. I don't know the current costs of them. We outsource all that to a third party. Each of the developers gets a Microsoft Visual Studio Azure DevOps license, which gives them access to the TFS server as well. We probably pay on average about 1,800 Canadian Dollars a year for every developer, but that covers a lot more than just TFS."
"It is an expensive solution."
"If running TFS on-premise is expensive, maybe you could consider moving to the Cloud and use the Visual Studio Team Services."
"It's just as expensive as HPE ALM, without many of the features, best used for development tool only to avoid higher costs."
"The price of the solution is cheaper than other competitors and it is a per-user license."
"Microsoft products are always expensive. Obviously, they are quality products, but it would be helpful if there was a reduction in price. But compared to other vendors, I think the cost is high."
"TFS is on the higher side, but if you intend to use the tool as a complete ALM tool, it will reduce your costs in the long run."
"Use the Microsoft recommended “seat-based” licensing model. This allows a single developer with multiple machines to consume only one client license."
