Software management excels with comprehensive modules
We are a reseller. I am conducting some research since we are a vendor for the Kaseya solution.  Regarding the patching and software management, for me, it's the best path. We have all the necessary modules for monitoring on the server and workstations. All modules are working well, and for me,…

Responsive technical support and an easy initial setup but needs better asset management
We found the initial setup to be surprisingly straightforward. It's not overly complex and difficult, and the ease of setup is a great selling point. We started to do it on our own as it was so straightforward. There is a beginner's guide on their website which you can use. It's a very good toolbox and very useful. Basically, all you need to do is start up your virtual machine inside or outside, put in some passwords, and run one or two commands as directed and it's up and ready to go. The only thing that may take a while is the configuration process. Otherwise, the deployment is relatively fast. In about two weeks it's completely done. We have two or three people involved in the maintenance aspect of the product

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We can schedule the patching of the endpoints."
"The product's support team is very quick to respond, especially because the tool's technical team operates in the same time zone where I am located."
"I like the remote control, audit, inventory, patch management, software management, and monitoring features."
"Kesaya is highly configurable."
"Being able to connect to client computers without them necessarily needing to be there and being able to put in the patches and manage different information systems is valuable."
"The patch management and the remote support are very good, especially the remote support. There is a module built into the solution which allows remote control without necessarily interrupting the user. We could manage things in the background without them seeing or interacting with anything, which is a very useful feature."
"The way Kaseya VSA treats application vulnerabilities is good. They have released some new features that have been a benefit, such as updates from the Microsoft repository directory."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ability to offer control remotely to its users and provide patching capabilities to users."
"The documentation for beginners is easily available online and very useful."

Cons

"One area that could be improved is the documentation, which often contains errors that prevent you from following along, especially during migrations."
"The stability of the solution is good but it can be improved."
"I have been looking for a way to deploy patches via the internet to selected equipment from Kaseya VSA, but it seems impossible."
"It's very difficult to update the third-party software on every device."
"The way it is laid out can be improved. If it could be a little more intuitive, it might be a little bit easier. Sometimes, it is hard to find features because they're called something weird, or they're in an interesting location that you wouldn't have thought that they'd be in."
"The product's user interface is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"I believe we should include a VSA license to provide complete endpoint management."
"It never functioned as intended."
"We have noticed that sometimes we have a delay in action on technical support issues due to time differences."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay a monthly fee, but it's a three-year contract divided by 36. They don't offer a true SaaS plan where you can add licenses monthly as you go. The cost is $7 per person per month, and we are paying about $1,700 a month."
"Without the managed antivirus, it was about $2,000 a month for the team. It's quite reasonable in that sense. The industry standard is anywhere from $0.90 to $1.10 per endpoint for antivirus, depending on how many you have, so it was fairly priced."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable."
"We were looking at a price of $22.50 cents per user."
"It is not expensive. Anyone can afford it. Most of the time, we get a discount for licenses. We had about 5,000 agents, and we received a discount on the price. There is only the licensing cost. If you use the on-prem version, you also have the infrastructure cost."
"You're going to pay for this solution, but you're going to get so much more out of it in reporting, asset management, and the ability to manage your clients. I would recommend giving Kaseya serious consideration and I would recommend implementing it."
"It depends on what products you want. Kaseya loves packages, and if you are packaging, it is more affordable. If you're not packaging, it tends to be a little bit more expensive than others."
"Kaseya VSA can be described as a fairly priced product."
