Proactive monitoring and notifications and impressive scalability
As a small IT shop, the weird feature that the VSA has that I have not found anywhere else is they have these little colored dots that tell you the status of the machine. Is it offline and powered up? Is it actively being used? Is it idle? A lot of our clients ask us to do things for them, but, of course, they don't really want us to be underfoot. So we always look for, "Hey, there's an idle machine. We can work on that one now." And to say it makes it easy, we can do that at a glance. In any other tool we've looked at, you have to go several layers deep to see if the machine is in use, and you could spend your entire day just trying to find a machine that was idle, whereas, with Kaseya VSA, you can tell at a glance. Moreover, Kaseya's got a new version coming out. We're waiting for a couple of features to be updated on it, but the big thing that they're providing in the next version is they'll also give us the ability to remotely help people with phones and tablets where now, if a client has a problem with the phone, which we frequently get, you know, hey, I need to change my password or I change my email password. Don't know how to do it on the phone, and we have to walk them through it or they just have to stop by my shop. Now we'll be able to take care of it for them.

Monitoring tool, user-friendly and interactive but experienced an issue with integration
The most valuable thing is that we can integrate any other solutions with SuperOps. Like, SuperOps is a monitoring tool, but for security, for backup, we can integrate with other solutions providers as well. I like the PSA tool. It is very user-friendly and interactive with the customer as well. We can, the customer, give feedback directly to the solution. There is no need for another communication channel, like a different email from Outlook or any other tool. From the same solution, we could communicate with the customer, and the customer could reply. So, it includes a collaboration tool with the customer. It could immediately pop up any problem that's at the customer end or in the end devices. Sometimes, it happens that we come to know about an incident negatively, but the monitoring tool gave me the information immediately.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The training that we received was quite good."
"The patch management and the remote support are very good, especially the remote support. There is a module built into the solution which allows remote control without necessarily interrupting the user. We could manage things in the background without them seeing or interacting with anything, which is a very useful feature."
"The ease of access and ease of use was great."
"We can schedule the patching of the endpoints."
"Being able to connect to client computers without them necessarily needing to be there and being able to put in the patches and manage different information systems is valuable."
"Patch management was very useful. Backdoor access to the clients was also very useful."
"Kaseya VSA's best features are auditing and reporting."
"Regarding the patching and software management, for me, it's the best path."
"The customer service and support are very good."

Cons

"It never functioned as intended."
"The network monitoring module today is not the best one."
"The solution is hard to use at first until you understand how it works."
"Kaseya VSA could be improved with more features to support the latest operating systems."
"The user interface is somewhat outdated."
"The technical support of the solution is an area with shortcomings that needs improvement."
"The audit and KNM tools could improve."
"It's very difficult to update the third-party software on every device."
"I found some issues when I integrated the accounting software with Xero."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing is available on a yearly basis and is priced per node."
"Kaseya's come down in pricing when I compare it to TeamViewer or other cheaper RMMs like LogMeIn."
"With the on-prem, you buy the agent license. That's a one-time fee, and it varies depending on how many you have. You also pay annual maintenance on the number that you have. So, there are two fees involved: a one-time fee and a recurring fee."
"We pay a monthly fee, but it's a three-year contract divided by 36. They don't offer a true SaaS plan where you can add licenses monthly as you go. The cost is $7 per person per month, and we are paying about $1,700 a month."
"It is, in my opinion, competitive in the market. It is determined by the number of users and licenses needed. Depending on the license count of users, the price ranges from $10 to $80 USD."
"The pricing is quite good and we are satisfied with it."
"The solution is robust and the price is good for the features that are provided."
"Though I don't have complete visibility over the solution's pricing, the solution is not cheap, from what I remember. The solution is on the pricey end."
"It is affordable."
