It streamlined our project management and resource management process.
I think the functionality with the reporting capability can be improved and I know there's a new version of KeyedIn coming out. I haven't had the opportunity yet to look at the new version, but I would say that reporting is actually one are for improvement. The way their functionality is set could be improved because, basically, what it does is: you can pull a resourcing report and you can pull a financial report, and it seems like they pull from different databases. You're not always able to compile all the data into one report. You have to pull separate reports to look at different data. That's one thing that I found that has been kind of hard with KeyedIn, because you can't view all the data you want into one report. It's not that flexible. You have to work with two separate reports in order to come to look at the data that you want. I would say that's one area for improvement: You're just not able to filter all the same data into one report. I'm also looking for integration here. Integration with, for example, a BI platform. We're implementing a BI platform here. I know that in KeyedIn, there's no real data connector that connects straight – although you can still connect via API - but KeyedIn does not have a data connector right now. I talk to the rep each week and that's something that I think would be a big win for KeyedIn. If it had a data connector already, it would be easier to integrate with other platforms.

Centralized workflows have boosted cross-team collaboration and made complex projects manageable
monday.com can continue to improve their AI capabilities. When comparing monday.com to several alternatives when I was evaluating a project and project management, product road mapping, and workflow management platform for us, I looked at competitors such as Asana, ClickUp, SmartSheet, Airtable, and Notion. In my opinion, competitors such as Airtable and SmartSheet, especially followed by Asana and ClickUp, have worked on their AI and generative AI roadmap to combine database functionality with a very user-friendly interface for knowledge management and project tracking, essentially combining both worlds. Their AI is more sophisticated than what monday.com has released thus far. They provide a cleaner task-focused workflow management platform and I think that monday.com can still improve on this core piece of their technology. I think monday.com could also seek to be more process-oriented and intuitive. Other alternatives such as Asana and SmartSheet offer that approach. There is a steeper learning curve to learn monday.com in my opinion compared to Airtable, Asana, and others because I have also used those tools and platforms at other organizations. There is a bit of a learning curve with new users on monday.com because it is not as streamlined as I have experienced with competitors such as SmartSheet or Airtable. The capability sets are great, however, you may need to be hand-held via a monday.com rep when you get started within your organization or view the library of tutorials that monday.com has available. You can also view them on YouTube and that will help you get started on monday.com.

Pros

"KeyedIn has been very valuable in helping us streamline our process here in terms of project management and resource management."
"It is a practical and useful tool which benefits both us and our clients."
"The solution is easily scalable."
"I generally appreciate a lot about monday.com because I feel it has very few limitations for flexible and agile teams, and I think it is a fantastic tool to support this kind of working environment and team."
"Alerts come in pretty handy every once in a while just to keep up."
"We manage our mortgage company through Monday, and as a fully remote team the visibility into all our loans in process is absolutely critical to keeping us on task."
"Monday is a great way to have history and a backup for all the work done."
"It has drastically helped me to get organized in the office and for personal to-do lists as well."
"It keeps everyone on the same page and gives us a way to streamline our projects and client communication."
"The automation capabilities are great; it allows us to build workflows between departments."

Cons

"I would say that reporting is actually one area for improvement. You're just not able to filter all the same data into one report."
"It was more complicated than it needed to be, but with a KeyedIn implementation manager it was not an issue."
"There was one time that I had used CTRL + C to copy one of the text fields, and accidentally pasted it into all other rows/projects. I know there is an "undo" button you can click on for a few seconds, however, it would be helpful if you could undo it even after it's been a few minutes/hours."
"We'd like to have the ability to start a screen record or screen grab that a user can initiate from Monday.com."
"If there was a way for Monday.com to take over, or interface with, my inbox, such that my email messages became associated with a particular task, group, or board, that would be incredibly useful."
"I have to use a ton of filters to get the exact data I want on an overview board."
"There are a lot of ways that monday.com does not work, for example, when it comes to HRMS. A particular employee can't apply for leave or check the status of a leave request or check his 401(k) status. Those are things that are missing in monday.com."
"It would be ideal if, when you are assigned a task, to somehow link it with your calendar on Outlook or Gmail."
"It would be beneficial to consider incorporating features that enhance the platform's customization capabilities in the next release."
"There are minor bugs that delete information or don’t autosave information placed. It doesn’t happen often, however, when it does it is inconvenient."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I think monday.com's paywalls are a little too high. Some basic features are locked behind the premium subscription. Some applications they offer within their subscription model are locked in an expensive package. These applications provide functionality that would benefit small teams, but it's too much money for a startup or a small business."
"Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan."
"The pricing of monday.com is worth it."
"The product is not expensive."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"Fees are paid monthly per user."
"The licensing cost is not that high for monday.com. However, if you need an implementer, the cost is high because there aren't so many monday.com professionals."
"monday.com is pretty affordable. It's cheaper than Asana. There are four tiers, including a free version. The free version is fine if you don't have any complex projects. One of the most advanced plans is around $16 per month per user."
