Newcomers benefit from automation and user-friendly integration
PeopleSoft is affordable for existing customers only, not for new customers. The popularity is declining for several reasons. Resources are moving to cloud solutions such as Workday cloud. Even though it is the same Oracle environment, professionals are transitioning due to challenges in availability, scalability, and resource allocation. When there are limited hiring opportunities for a particular technology, professionals must consider switching technologies either internally within their organization or personally. If a project ends and someone is placed on bench without new opportunities, they often need to switch to technologies with more market demand. Currently, resources are frequently moving to other ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Mulesoft, and Salesforce, as there are numerous ERP systems in the marketplace.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Viva Insights is integrated with Outlook and SharePoint. It helps me to reply and attend all scheduled meetings."
"The ability to fully customize it for our needs is huge and is by far the most valuable feature for us when it comes to HR management."
"The financial capabilities are great."
"I think it's a very strong, solid product, very mature."
"The user interface that I use is very intuitive, it’s to the point of what I want to use it for."
"The most valuable feature is that it's easy to use."
"The beauty of using the on-premises solution is having customizations according to business requirements, because business requirements are not always aligned with the out-of-the-box product."
"However, I definitely enjoy working with the software as I have been working with them for so long."
"The most valuable feature is that it's wide and broad and it does about everything anybody needs in a major organization from a back-office systems point of view."

Cons

"I get very few notifications of Microsoft Viva Insights on my mobile."
"Initial setup can be complex without training or use of consultants."
"It would be nice if it became even more declarative in its development."
"Technical support is not very good and needs improvement in the area of speed in responding to issues."
"From an administration perspective, I think Oracle needs more clarity on their road map as to where they are going to improve the product."
"The area that could be improved is the upgrade process, it's not the easiest. Oracle stopped supporting our version."
"I would like to see a better UI."
"In my opinion, it needs more performance, maybe something technical related, because it's very slow for us and even small activities take a while."
"An area for improvement would be that it's quite difficult to learn how to use this product, and the documentation provided isn't helpful in giving you practical advice."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"Check all options before a decision is made."
"The expenses related to the solution are nominal."
"This solution offers annual licensing. We pay per user."
"The product's cost depends on the number of people in your company or the number of paychecks processed. They charge based on these factors, plus a maintenance fee. I'm not sure about current pricing since Oracle took over."
"Mostly yearly payments are to be made toward licensing costs. It is not much of an expensive solution."
"The licensing cost for PeopleSoft is 3,500 per course and the annual subscription fee is 6,500."
"I don't know if they are still providing licenses or if they have suspending licenses."
