Insider threats have been detected faster and internal data exposure is now controlled
Regarding how Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection can be improved, sometimes the tool is slightly laggy, wherein it would take some time for us to fetch the related logs from the Mimecast portal, and that of course can be improved. There could also be a graph or a kind of a graph where, if the organization has a smaller number of employees, it is fine, but if it has a large number of employees and different departments, then in that case, Mimecast could give us an AI suggestion upon how to improvise the current security posture, how we stand and where we can go up to in terms of implementing or tweaking the policies. As the organization's size gets bigger, it would also be better if Mimecast could provide some solutions upon how to segregate the users into groups and what groups can have which policies. Those kinds of features can be added. Regarding Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security could improve as I am not entirely sure how it works. It would be helpful if Mimecast could, as the AI capabilities are in place, maintain a strict governance policy upon the data that is being processed, especially for user personally identifiable information. As insider risk management sometimes also gets into the personal details of the user, organizations might be hesitant; even we are also hesitant to use the AI capabilities. If Mimecast could provide more information about how they store the data and whether the agents are local agents or cloud-hosted agents, that would be of great help for the organizations to consider its AI capabilities while adhering to the compliance needs of a particular organization.

Point-in-time restore capabilities are built into the storage appliance
Our first impression when we were introduced to the product was very good. I still think it's very good. They are truly different. The whole product is based on point-in-time restore capabilities built into their storage appliance, and no one else I know does that. I'd rate it a 10 out of 10 because it does everything that we have asked it to do.

Pros

"We deployed the tool in our organization so that now we have more control over the user's activities within our organization, and the quick alerting also helped us in minimizing the internal data exposure."
"The product just always has a continuous backup going, which is quite useful for us."
"Code42 has excellent customer support."
"One of the most stable software packages I have worked with in my 20 years in IT."
"So far we've saved a lot of data and prevented loss for some clients that either had their devices stolen or the hard drive had failed."
"Since it is a SaaS platform, software updates and security enhancements are managed by Mimecast, and I highly recommend Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection for email security."
"Customer Service: I won't even bother rating them because they are in a class of their own."
"It's probably the best backup tool available, but that's just my opinion."
"Reduxio offers a very simple, elegant user interface (design) to manage it."
"The always-on deduplication and compression is also effective and allows us to achieve about 3x savings on space utilization."
"We are able to recover to the second, if needed, our data. This greatly improves restore capability, for example, if there is a cryptolocker outbreak or data loss."
"The performance increase is significant over our replaced storage, our servers respond lightning fast and the end user experience has greatly improved."
"The ability to target existing remote storage with NoRestore is going to allow us to leverage existing storage without an increased financial investment."
"We are getting 4.4:1 data reduction, which means we will be able to squeeze over 120TB into 2U. This is more than enough capacity for us."
"We are enjoying a quantum leap in speed, reliability, and available space with this system."
"By using the BackDating option we can restore volumes based on time. It also reduces volumes and maintenance time."

Cons

"The GUI could use improvement, but generally it's fine."
"I would rate Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection an eight out of ten because we need improvements in policies, and although I am not aware of other organizations' experiences, we are facing some lags, and there are points we must work on."
"It's very user friendly...when it works."
"This is my only major issue with Code42 at this point."
"I'd like to see some better options with account management in the software and a simpler way to track where you are using licenses."
"The application, written in Java, required far more system resources on a Client than other solutions."
"The login screen for customers could be improved, I find that the white and grey could be hard to read for some customers depending on the brightness of their screens."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing indicates that pricing is always very expensive."
"It would be helpful to have a mobile app to monitor the storage array remotely."
"There is only thing I can think of at the moment, that would be detailed printable reports."
"It would be helpful to have the ability to recover virtual machines individually without having to restore the full LUN."
"I am waiting on a feature set in the new version which should allow me to replicate between Reduxio iSCSI SANs for disaster recovery and also to 3rd party iSCSI SANs which are cheaper for an archive or DR target."
"We had a brief hiccup, a brief outage, during one upgrade process, but it wasn't too extreme."
"Would love to have role-based access and an active directory integration."
"Needs to be made easier to use with slightly older versions of VMware."
"I would love to see deeper integration with VMware vSphere/vCenter. Right now, I can edit existing Reduxio datastore sizes in the vSphere web client. Provisioning new datastores that way would be nice."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It was expensive. It was more expensive than Eureka, and it was more expensive than Barracuda Backup, but what we got was a full team. They didn't come in and nickel and dime us. They provided the assistance we needed. They didn't say that they need to charge us for something or it is going to take another statement of work. It was all bundled into it... We pay for the software maintenance. It is probably 18% or 20% of the license fee for rev releases."
"It is 100% worth the cost to get and keep the support, especially when setting it up."
"They were the best solution and surprisingly enough, the cheapest."
"It used to be a good solution for SOHO in particular as it had unlimited storage for a reasonable price. However, their pricing model has changed and they are now primarily targeting enterprise users."
"The pricing is reasonable. It's my understanding that the cost is about $7 for unlimited storage in the cloud per server."
"For less money than my previous solution, I receive way more performance and backup features that far surpass anything on the market."
"Setup and licensing are included in the solution cost."
"The advantage of using HDDs to store (versus pure flash) makes the price point attractive versus other options."
"I think it is worth the value."
"Only one device is sold. Negotiate the initial storage, but you can start small and move up with ease. Negotiate."
"They have very competitive pricing and were able to work within our budget constraints as a public school."
"Set up costs are minimal. We were early adopters so we received really good pricing."
"They are very competitive in pricing, so I would definitely recommend Reduxio."
