Integration tools streamline financial operations and enhance data management
The most beneficial feature in Workato is its accessibility. The interface is easily understandable even for a common user, unlike the NetSuite ERP direct website which requires more technical knowledge. In Workato, NetSuite ERP provides options for new employee records, invoice reports, and batch files processing. The batch processing capability allows handling up to 10,000 records simultaneously, which reduces tasks and processing time significantly. Regarding scalability, NetSuite ERP offers excellent options and reduces manual interventions through automation. In the past three months, I have observed improvements in their options and data storage capabilities, showing enhanced scalability compared to previous versions.

We find QuickBooks' budget generation feature valuable but haven't really utilized that as much as we'd want to. It's something that we plan on utilizing next year. It helps save money and time, though I can't speak to specific amounts as I would be really guessing. We use the on-premise version of QuickBooks. We have utilized the third-party application synchronization. An example of a third party that QuickBooks integrates well with is Avalara AvaTax. On a scale of 1-10, I rate QuickBooks a 7.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is pretty easy to use and navigate, and it's more of a lightweight software."
"I recommend this product to professional services companies and those with complex international financial requirements. NetSuite ERP has strong capabilities in the finance domain that other ERPs may lack."
"The most valuable feature is that it works according to how the Internet works."
"We can install the bundles based on our needs."
"You should go for it. You won't regret it! This is the best solution."
"NetSuite ERP has dramatically improved our organization. We went from QuickBooks to NetSuite. You can compare this transition to changing from tennis shoes to a flying car."
"The most valuable feature I find in NetSuite ERP is that it functions as an accounting package for our accounting needs."
"I have found there to be many features, such as manufacturing, accounting, financials, inventory, and purchasing."
"The best features of QuickBooks are ease of use and intuitive design."
"The most valuable feature is its decent accounts payable module. It works pretty well."
"They have, "Let's walk you through it," introductions, to show you how to use it."
"QuickBooks is very reliable and stable; being cloud-based allows me to access it from anywhere, and it is very useful."
"For most small businesses, QuickBooks Desktop is the best solution."
"The main benefits I have seen from QuickBooks are that it helps our partners do their business impactfully with the help of QuickBooks Online."
"It gave me excellent tracking of my finances."
"QuickBooks Desktop is the perfect software program for a startup company to begin keeping track of its accounts, to work with banks, and to present financials to its CPAs so that they can get their taxes done."

Cons

"If they could provide more integration options to connect with different products, that would be ideal."
"Many features such as local taxation and fund management are not there yet."
"If you do go through an implementor, you need to be careful that they are actual implementors and not just resellers."
"An area for improvement in NetSuite ERP is its accounting functionality because it has certain limitations. You can't maintain sub-ledgers or post accrued expenses in sub-ledger forms, so you'll need to post in journals. The pricing is another area that can be improved in NetSuite ERP because the pricing was lower when it wasn't part of Oracle, but after Oracle acquired Netsuite and NetSuite ERP was offered as a cloud service, the price went up."
"I would like to see improvement around the Revenue Recognition module. Right now, several templates are there, but they are either too complicated, or they are difficult to configure, from a company finance perspective."
"NetSuite is good for data management, but it's missing payroll features."
"The solution could be more stable."
"The pricing is high. For small companies, it is not very competitive."
"It would be beneficial to enhance inventory and manufacturing features, as it currently depends on third-party applications like Fishbowl Inventory to address these specific needs."
"Yes, it crashes from time to time. The online version has a lot of bugs, but it is never bad enough to hamper production."
"While the data protection is commendable, there is room for improvement in the dashboard."
"We would like to have data conversion and upload applications included, without having to pay separately for them."
"As of right now, you cannot edit secondary lists in a batch feature."
"You just need to jump through more hoops than is probably necessary to make it happen, but it's a pretty solid product."
"The search functionality in the solution has shortcomings that can be improved in almost every area of the solution."
"The ability to integrate outside apps is lacking (compared to the online versions) and ability to download bank transactions does not work as well as it should."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would advise that you first meet with and scope out your project with a NetSuite VAR (Value Added Reseller)."
"Regarding costs, it's not just about licensing. Customization recurring costs can become expensive over five to eight years, especially with new releases. However, NetSuite ERP integrates well with third-party applications, so it can still be used for finance while another ERP is used for localized production."
"When people buy ERP, it's a competitive situation and the pricing is paramount."
"Pricing for NetSuite ERP is okay, but it could be better. The licensing model for NetSuite ERP is based on the number of modules and users. The standard license covers up to twenty-five users. If you have more than twenty-five users, you'll have to buy the premium license, which would double the price. For one module with five user licenses, the cost is between $40,000 to $50,000."
"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"NetSuite ERP has a cost per module you want to use, and then you have the license per user."
"It's very competitively priced due to it being a subscription model. So, clients are quite happy with the pricing. I would rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing."
"It is expensive."
"They're trying to catch up with more expensive platforms, so they switched to a subscription model, which makes it even more expensive."
"It is a bit on the high side, but it is affordable."
"The pricing is considered reasonable and reflects the value provided, falling neither in the extremely expensive nor very cheap category."
"The tool's pricing is extremely reasonable."
"The price point is higher because you are paying for a whole year in advance. They recently moved to subscription pricing."
"When I first started, the only other options were the very expensive programs. QuickBooks Desktop you can find anywhere between $200 and $300 on Amazon or Costco."
"It is relatively expensive."
"Regarding pricing, QuickBooks needs to make its point-of-sale system more affordable to onboard more small businesses. Many retail stores need a retail ERP, and QuickBooks POS is a good option. The pricing is a barrier for some businesses. If QuickBooks offered a more affordable package, it would be easier for businesses to choose QuickBooks POS and get the benefits of a retail ERP. It also gives you discounts."
