Significant backup for containers, but the customer service is terrible
Anyone considering this solution should not compare it to the old versions. They should be a partner with Virtuozzo and run all the certifications. Also, they need a good lab to understand the technology and how they can apply that technology conveniently. This is very commercial software. It does not have support, so you will need to be hands-on. I would rate Odin Virtuozzo a six out of 10 overall.

Proactive monitoring has improved infrastructure visibility and simplifies long term management
I remember when I was working as a consultant and implemented Site Recovery Manager from VMware. It was working fine and is a very good solution. Although I used it five or six years in the past, it is very beneficial for customers as a function to build disaster recovery.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"When you run templates on the containers on Virtuozzo they have a lot of back-ups."
"What is most valuable about VMware vSphere Foundation is the reliability of the platform."
"The product includes disaster recovery features; the disaster recovery capability is quite good and the security features help to protect critical applications in general."
"VMware vSphere Foundation is positioned in the top right quadrant in a Gartner chart and offers the best virtualization solution to help manage enterprise components."
"We save substantial money from using VMware vSphere Foundation because previously, we needed to provision all new applications with new physical servers, such as app servers, DB servers, and license servers."
"I find the manageability and interface of vSphere Foundation to be very good, more understandable, and futuristic compared to open-source alternatives."
"One valuable feature of vSphere is the possibility to distribute file systems in a hyperconvergent foundation."
"VMware vSphere ensures high resilience in the data center."
"Setting up the VMware vSphere Foundation is easy."

Cons

"Odin Virtuozzo has poor support and needs to improve."
"One area of concern is Oracle's lack of support for VMware in terms of core licensing. It is not legally compliant to use an Oracle database on VMware, which does not support Oracle core-based licensing. Therefore, I decided to decommission VMware due to these licensing issues."
"Before Broadcom, VMware's support was an eight or ten out of ten. Now, with Broadcom's management, I would rate it a three out of ten."
"Recently, the pricing has gone up a lot for different organizations depending on what licensing they have had since the acquisition by Broadcom, so there is room for improvement on the pricing."
"Management of support cases is not as efficient as it used to be."
"The biggest issue is pricing due to the Broadcom acquisition."
"In the past, we faced challenges with VMware's transition to Broadcom, which caused a lot of frustration."
"I have concerns regarding VMware's strategy, particularly about how it manages multiple cloud environments since clients and my company need to navigate multiple clouds."
"Regarding the scalability of VMware vSphere Foundation, there are questions about whether it is completely scalable or if there are limitations."
