Single secure login has simplified daily access and strengthened multi-factor protection
Okta Platform offers several valuable features. The first one is Single Sign-On, which allows users to log in once and gain access to multiple applications without needing to enter credentials repeatedly. I believe that is one of the best features. The second one is multi-factor authentication (MFA). It adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to verify their identity through multiple methods such as a password and a mobile verification code. I use it mostly to manage secure access to enterprise applications and cloud services. Other features include user lifecycle management and integration with cloud applications. I myself have relied mostly on multi-factor authentication (MFA) because I tend to log in every day and whenever I am working or take a break, I use this multi-factor authentication to sign in. Okta Platform simplifies identity management, improves security, and allows employees to access multiple applications through a single secure login. I believe this is a very good feature. Okta Platform has improved our organization through user authentication with features like Single Sign-On and multi-factor authentication. I believe the features it provides simplify identity management, improve security, and fulfill the need for secure and centralized identity and access management.

A mature, powerful product with good integration capabilities
Since we use it to access a number of mission-critical applications, it means that we have multiple sites. We have independent instances of Access Manager deployed. What's very important for us is to ensure that the configurations across the various sites are 100% aligned. If they had a mechanism to ensure that's the case, that would be great. For example, the worst thing to do is if you run into an issue, and then you fail over to your disaster recovery environment, and then you find out that you've got a missing configuration there, it'll be great if one could easily compare configurations across instances of NetIQ Access Manager to ensure consistency. It's just about ensuring consistent configuration across various instances. Having the ability to easily extract and view and compare and version control configurations would be ideal. If you consider our scenario whereby, let's say, we've got an instance for our retail environment, and for that instance, we've got a disaster recovery environment. We need to ensure the amount of service at each of those sites. Now yes, they serve different purposes, however, for us, it's very important that site A and site B are 100% aligned. And so if there was a way to easily extract the configuration and to compare it across sites, to me, that would just make everything from an operational perspective significantly easier.

Pros

"This solution has a lot of capabilities and features."
"The most valuable features depend on a customer's needs. Our customers generally find multi-factor authentication very useful."

"Our customers use it for multi-factor authentication, lifecycle, and workflow."
"One of the most beneficial features of the solution is the user provisioning and the de-provisioning feature."
"Other than Okta being an easy and awesome integration tool, one of the best features it has is the provisioning and deprovisioning, which makes management way easier."
"Okta Platform is the gold standard when it comes to identity providers and the single sign-on experience."
"We primarily use it to manage the community onboarding and offboarding of users, and it's quite a simple solution for that."
"The single sign-on feature is excellent."
"It's a very powerful product."
"There are lots of options to customize the solution to your needs."
"I would recommend NetIQ Access Manager; it is a very, very good alternative to Microsoft, Micro Focus is very big and offers good technical services, and the solution is very good, fast, simple to operate, and has very good production time to market."
"The single sign-on feature is excellent."
"The most valuable features of NetIQ Access Manager are SSO and Multi-Factor Authentication."

Cons

"They are far from perfect, so Okta has the worst implementation."
"A room for improvement in Okta Workforce Identity is its price. It could be cheaper. The biggest benefit of the solution is that everything works securely without extra steps, so you're saving on your workforce's time and effort because your applications work smoothly and securely, but you'd need to pay some amount of money for that. Another area that could be improved, though not necessarily regarding Okta Workforce Identity, is the SSO applications because so many of the source applications charge extra money to put the SSO to work, which means you have to buy a more expensive license. Nowadays, SSO is a mainstream functionality and it should be out-of-the-box in those applications because it's so easy to set up."
"The lifecycle management part can be improved. It should also have identity governance and the ability to choose a specific factor authentication at the application level."
"Okta Workforce Identity could improve the way passwords are reset and how it interfaces with Microsoft."
"What I'd like to see improved in Okta Customer Identity is the process of exporting users."
"It is challenging to obtain a comprehensive backup."
"The initial setup, for new users, is a bit difficult."
"If that phone or device gets stolen, somebody else can log into the system using that code."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security of the infrastructure and the server and the working networking device."
"Occasionally, it's very difficult to get the solution running."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security of the infrastructure and the server and the working networking device."
"Classification of junctions and new versions of applications, such as APIs, can be added to enable the use of more devices that utilize biometrics for Multi-Factor Authentication to improve the solution."
"There is a major release going from version three to four or four to five. There seem to be issues up front, and then once you get to the third or fourth service pack to address those various issues, you're fine again."
"Having the ability to easily extract and view and compare and version control configurations would be ideal."
"I would love to see the upgrade procedure handled more effectively. I would prefer to have OVS installation possibilities, although the upgrade procedures should include the OS as well. You should be able to use the whole application as an appliance."
"The application portal could be improved with more options and easier customization."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It could be a bit too pricey for small companies. Okta Workforce Identity can add a lot of benefits, but smaller companies may not have a lot of applications that need to be managed by Okta Workforce Identity. In larger organizations, there are more departments, applications, and users to manage. Okta Workforce Identity adds a bit more value to those bigger organizations. In addition to standard licensing fees, there are also additional costs for things"
"This solution is costly. Pricing is decent if you have less users, but it significantly goes up the more users you have, with its cost not justified."
"The price of the solution is fair for what it offers."
"Price-wise, Okta Workforce Identity is a cheap solution. The overall cost depends on the license since you can negotiate with Okta or any of Okta's partners only if you opt for many licenses."
"Okta Customer Identity is not an expensive solution."
"The pricing for Okta Workforce Identity could still be improved or made cheaper. It costs from 50 to 100 euros a year per user. Okta Workforce Identity has different packages you can choose from, and my previous company had all of them, particularly the full Okta suite."
"The product's price is high. For each feature, a certain payment is required."
"The licensing model is fine for general service usage. However, the charges for API features and API tokens can be quite high."
"The price of the solution is average."
