Well-suited for mobile and portable device usage but issues with stability
The problem is that when the number of users increases, TP-Link automatically drops the speed, and in terms of coverage, it falls short. We are not using any industrial-level equipment or accuracy. We are looking for something at the industrial level, advanced Access Points, not the basic ones from TP-Link. Omada Access Points could be improved in terms of connectivity and speed. That is the main thing. The other thing is security. Currently, most people are sharing their passwords, allowing unauthorized users to access Wi-Fi networks. So, the main areas for improvement are security, accessibility, and speed.

Reliable and high-performance wireless networking with exceptional stability, scalability, and robust feature set
One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly. This feature enables APs in a specific zone to automatically adjust their channels, optimizing performance. Additionally, Ruckus Wireless stands out for its ability to reuse certain beams, resulting in smaller data spots. In my experience with various products, Ruckus Wireless consistently delivers unparalleled throughput, coverage, and reliability in wireless networking across different environments. As a noteworthy point, the newly launched WiFi 7 standard is measured against Ruckus's WiFi 7 AP, establishing it as the global benchmark. When it comes to WiFi, Ruckus sets the standard, outperforming competitors with its superior performance and capabilities.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Omada is a good solution that I would recommend, and it is less expensive while providing good results."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"This product is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is easy to deploy and reliable."
"The performance and availability of Omada Access Points have met our business needs, particularly in improving network control and facilitating direct access for developers to branch services."
"Omada Access Points are very good in terms of wired technologies and wired connectivity."
"When this solution is set up, it is solid. It offers fast deployment."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its price."
"One of the biggest features of Ruckus Wireless is its BeamFlex+ technology."
"The solution is very stable. I've worked with it at a hospital before, where we deployed it all over the hospital. It worked everywhere and continuously worked flawlessly."
"Ruckus Wireless is more of a plain Wi-Fi solution where it does the basic job well. Additionally, it has good conductivity, easy to use, simple to manage, and its access points can be used as standalone devices which gives flexibility in the SMB market."
"I like the controller more informative and easier to set up."
"There can be the same SSID for several devices."
"One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly."
"The most valuable feature is the coverage, which is exceptional."
"Because of Zero-IT, it is easier to get people connected to the correct SSID without providing a passphrase."

Cons

"The price of the solution is an area requiring improvement since I want the solution to be made available at a cheaper price than its current market price."
"The solution takes a long time to switch to another connection, which should be improved."
"There should be more remote support for the mobile application."
"It is less affordable for smaller businesses."
"The technical support could be improved."
"We have some issues with stability. It is not so fast. That is the main problem."
"Omada needs improvement in the distance it can cover."
"Omada's ordering platform could be improved, though. Some of their distributors are a pain to work with."
"The price has room for improvement."
"While the Virtual SmartZone appliance has improved in the last few years, it isn’t without issue and the performance of the Web page leaves something to be desired."
"The tool needs to incorporate training. Also, it needs to improve the range of coverage."
"An area for improvement in Ruckus Wireless is automating its guest WiFi access function. Currently, the product requires token generation, so it would be better if there's a portal for the guest to log in and get the password rather than the IT team needing to give passwords to guests."
"Its security can be improved. It doesn't use Wireless IPS. Therefore, we have to combine WatchGuard that uses a Wireless IPS but is a separate solution. These two solutions work in conjunction. We are using the WatchGuard as a sensor and Wireless IPS, and Ruckus is like a platform that is used for the connectivity of the network."
"What would be interesting to see is if they had more of an ability for their customers to capture revenue. They should offer some sort of gateway functionality that you could tie through radius authentication, so you can bill the customers. That way, when you go in, you could just have a device and set up a hotspot, and it's a totally billable tool at that point."
"The solution's pricing could be cheaper."
"The price could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is no need to pay for the licensing costs since my company is in South Africa. Omada Access Points can be termed as a medium-priced product."
"The price is affordable, and we haven't had any additional costs due to having a limited number of users."
"We don't have to pay for the license because the solution has no subscription cost."
"TP-Link provides solutions that are more cost-effective than other well-known brands."
"The cost of Omada is much better than Aruba and Cisco, and it does what we need it to do in most cases. Around 10 percent of our clients need a more carrier-grade solution for mobile platforms."
"The price of the solution is not a lot for five people to use it."
"On a scale of one to ten for pricing, with one being cheap and ten being expensive, I would rate Omada Access Points at a one for its cost-effectiveness."
"TP-Link is a good price. They have a good price. But technology-wise, it has to be better."
"Ruckus is more expensive than Meraki, but the performance moves in parallel with the cost."
"The cost per AP license should be worked on."
"Ruckus Wireless is not an expensive solution."
"It is a pricey solution."
"Ruckus Wireless pricing is reasonable. On a scale from one to five, I would give Ruckus Wireless pricing a four."
"The only complaint I have about Ruckus is the price, but considering other enterprise WiFi products are similarly priced, I feel Ruckus is a superior product."
"It's a lot more expensive."
"Regarding pricing, Ruckus Wireless is a five out of ten. Though it's cheaper than Aruba Wireless, pricing for Ruckus Wireless, when you look at its functionality, could be more affordable."
