Ensures high performance and adaptability while providing room for improved analytics and support
The analytics and reporting features can be improved, though they are good enough. If you have expertise, you can manage with what is included. However, it could be much better, especially with modern AI capabilities. When considering areas for improvement in OpenText Enterprise Performance Engineering (LoadRunner Enterprise), there is a need for automated analysis and code-level support.

Need improvements ,but has cloud and on-premises options
The solution is not in an optimal state. During POC, we analyzed tool is kept on upgrading. The patch deployment is happening in parallel, things that are working today are not working tomorrow. We eventually sorted it out with help of CSM. We integrated this tool with other software such as Azure client, but many times without a valid or visible reason, the connectivity was breaking. Improvement suggestions- The dashboard creation for the reporting needs to be easier. Currently, the solution does not support multiple script executions and we would like to see support for this.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It gives you a wide-ranging view on performance bottlenecks, from CPU to memory to network etc. This helps identify possible bottlenecks in the production environment, as well as the expected and unexpected loads."
"LoadRunner Enterprise's most valuable features are load simulation and creating correlation for parameters."
"Single license can be used optimally in different time zones for 300% ROI"
"The most beneficial features of the solution are flexibility and versatility in their performance."
"I think the number one feature everybody likes is the capability to easily generate virtual users as well as the reporting."
"It allows you to work out how well you are doing project-wise because you see the number of scripts done, the number of tests run, and whether you have mapped all your requirements to it."
"HP has very masterfully re-engineered this tool and integrated it with Application Lifecycle Management to create one of the most seamless project management suites I've used in years."
"The product is very user-friendly."
"You can utilize this tool on the cloud, and also access application on-premises. That is a very good part of the solution."
"Their technical support is awesome."
"The most valuable feature is the support for Java, where we can quickly code what we need."

Cons

"Dashboard creation should be implemented, so we can get the results in a desired format."
"Browser compatibility. IE is no longer the only browser out there, so providing users the choice of what browser to use would be great!"
"The installation has not been straightforward, and we have had so many problems. We have had to re-install, try to install on a different machine, etc. We have not been able to launch the LRE server itself yet."
"Running virtual users especially with a huge number is a very challenging task. The load generators may over utilize its resources (CPU/ memory) due to improper default configurations, or improper use of LoadRunner and Performance Center."
"I think better or more integration with some of the monitoring tools that we're considering."
"Micro Focus's technical support could be more responsive."
"Not as fast as I would like, but they work with our customers in addition to working with us which is great because we don’t always have to be involved."
"Storing the results of our tests requires the use of a lot of memory in our data center."
"We used an implementation strategy to deploy the solution, not because of the tools, but mainly because of the scripting part of the tool."
"The performance of the tool needs to improve."
"The solution is quite immature, it is not in an optimal state."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I have not been directly involved in price negotiations but my understanding is that while the cost is a little bit high, it provides good value for the money."
"The tool is very expensive."
"We purchased the license via SAP."
"We got a very good deal. We are happy with that. We have 5,000 licenses."
"We used the Professional version and then moved to the enterprise version. We have subscribed to 1000 user licenses. The tool will be super expensive if we take up 5,000 user licenses. We have to limit ourselves on testing."
"The price of Micro Focus LoadRunner Enterprise could improve, it is expensive."
"The price is okay. You're able to buy it, as opposed to paying for a full year."
"There is an ROI. What LoadRunner does, is it prevents failures when there are many, many concurrent users in the systems of a company."
"The only positive point is it came free with my test automation tool."
"This solution is in the average price range compared to other testing tools."
