Ensures high performance and adaptability while providing room for improved analytics and support
The analytics and reporting features can be improved, though they are good enough. If you have expertise, you can manage with what is included. However, it could be much better, especially with modern AI capabilities. When considering areas for improvement in OpenText Enterprise Performance Engineering (LoadRunner Enterprise), there is a need for automated analysis and code-level support.

Need improvements ,but has cloud and on-premises options
The solution is not in an optimal state. During POC, we analyzed tool is kept on upgrading. The patch deployment is happening in parallel, things that are working today are not working tomorrow. We eventually sorted it out with help of CSM. We integrated this tool with other software such as Azure client, but many times without a valid or visible reason, the connectivity was breaking. Improvement suggestions- The dashboard creation for the reporting needs to be easier. Currently, the solution does not support multiple script executions and we would like to see support for this.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is pretty easy to do test execution and results analysis. When it comes to scenario settings, LoadRunner Enterprise has an extra edge over other testing tools in the industry. The scenario setup is easy, and in terms of execution, we have a clear idea of what is happening"
"LoadRunner Enterprise's price is high, but it gives more value for money than some cheaper alternatives."
"It has contributed greatly to the performance/stress testing of our application prior to going live and deployment."
"What we call the LoadRunner analysis is the most useful aspect of the solution."
"It helps us to be confident and to be aware of where issues are before we release a product to a wider audience."
"The product is good, and the concept is good as well."
"For me, LoadRunner stands out, especially with its reporting capabilities, the graphs that can be generated, and the unique feature of measuring our application's response alongside our infrastructure metrics, such as CPU, memory, or disk usage, all presented in graph form. This is something other applications struggle to match."
"HP has very masterfully re-engineered this tool and integrated it with Application Lifecycle Management to create one of the most seamless project management suites I've used in years."
"You can utilize this tool on the cloud, and also access application on-premises. That is a very good part of the solution."
"The most valuable feature is the support for Java, where we can quickly code what we need."
"Their technical support is awesome."

Cons

"The solution is expensive."
"Canned reports are always a challenge and a question with customers because customers want to see sexy reports."
"It would be beneficial if LoadRunner could optimize resource usage, especially for protocols that require significant resources, like TrueClient, which interacts directly with the UI. If they could improve resource usage, like ingest or for the load generator, using less CPU or RAM memory, that would be great. That's where I have problems."
"I believe the data that demonstrates the automated correlations should be corrected."
"It does not seem very professional and it is really a buggy behavior that should be fixed."
"Lacks the option of carrying out transaction comparisons."
"Offering a direct integration feature would ensure a completely smooth experience."
"Sometimes, the code is not generated when we record the scripts in the backend."
"The performance of the tool needs to improve."
"The solution lacks a little bit in the reporting features."
"The solution is quite immature, it is not in an optimal state."

"We used an implementation strategy to deploy the solution, not because of the tools, but mainly because of the scripting part of the tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I give the cost a one out of ten."
"I rate the product's pricing a three out of ten."
"We got an 80 percent discount for the product. It was cost-effective, but licenses tend to get expensive."
"ROI is 200%."
"I have not been directly involved in price negotiations but my understanding is that while the cost is a little bit high, it provides good value for the money."
"The price is okay. You're able to buy it, as opposed to paying for a full year."
"For Performance Center, you have to add additional load generators, and then you can do more. I think it is a matter of the price, in terms of how many machines you can buy."
"The only positive point is it came free with my test automation tool."
"This solution is in the average price range compared to other testing tools."
