The Briefing Book feature enables measures to be filtered and viewed based on different criteria by end users.
This software is targeted at executive users, not the data analysts who want to slice and dice. The software will not replace your BI tools, but it will sit nicely on top of a BI tool if you want management to have quick and easy access to performance data. Some things that could be improved in Oracle Analytics Cloud is definitely the way it works. In some cases, for example, if you want to create analytic functions such as the percentage of a measure over another, which is a straightforward question you might ask, it appears simple to do, but the result is not what you expect. I would make it more user-friendly in terms of creating new measures. The measure creation feature could be improved. In terms of functionality, there are not many functions that are completely missing. There is one aspect that if you compare it with Power BI from Microsoft, which works completely in memory and therefore puts everything in memory to allow many calculations on the fly on what is in memory, that is missing, but it is architecturally different and would not be possible to ask for something like that. Some time features and time series analysis functions could be improved. Calculating a year ago and previous period functions could definitely work with some improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a comprehensive solution for performance management, and yet it is easy to setup and easy to use, especially in comparison with Oracle, SAS, Hyperion and SAP."
"It's rather user-friendly."
"Oracle Analytics Cloud's most valuable feature is its visualization."
"The AI/ML enablement is useful, as many reporting tools do not offer machine learning models as of now, without writing customized code."
"The product is able to compare with other tools on the market; it has everything you need, everything you can find in other tools such as Tableau and Power BI, and additionally, it has history, so you get a robust solution with support."
"We use Analytics because we have a model for it which can be easily customized, and implementation time can be reduced because of this."
"The product is easily customized."
"The best feature may be data flow, which is used to prepare and clean data."
"The advanced calculations by the tool are highly effective"

Cons

"It needs to have better quality built in reports."
"The price of the solution could be lower."
"This solution could be more adaptable in its application."
"One area of improvement is associated with more connectors needing to be added such as Microsoft OneDrive, Teradata and a few others. I think the list is limited to the top ones now."
"At this time, dataflows cannot be shared, but I think that this should be enhanced."
"I looked at the predictive analytics feature in Oracle Analytics Cloud, but I used it very little because, everything considered, it does not add very much."
"The product could benefit from increased flexibility compared to other vendors."
"When you implement the product on a small scale, it doesn't generate any ROI."
"Oracle Analytics Cloud is lacking in charts. They should add more charts to it."

"The product’s pricing is expensive. However, feature-wise, it fits the requirements of enterprise customers."
"The tool's pricing is not unreasonable or non-competitive."
"The price is reasonable; it's quite a bit lower than Tableau and Spotfire."
