Hybrid cloud has supported payment services and provides reliable networked virtual machines
There are no restrictions about usage of these virtual machines because Linux machines are used, and everything needed is installed on our own responsibility, as all applications are developed by vendors who produce them for us. This is why there are no restrictions felt in usage of cloud services. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) offers good services, though the price could be lower than it currently is. AI and machine learning features of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) have not been used in production, as research is being conducted in this area. Services provided to customers are very well tested, and untested services are not offered to customers. Currently, research is being conducted on the usage of AI offerings through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other vendors of AI tools.

Offers flexibility and better accessibility to users
The security part of the tool is not so strong, making it an area I would like to see improved in the solution. When working with a cloud tool, it's never 100 percent secure and it is always something to take into account. I would like to be more comfortable working with it and feeling safer. In the future, the tool can be made faster. In the future, I would like to see maybe some AI features in the tool to help automate stuff. You need to be able to create your own models to help create some automated actions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is stable."
"It's reliable, performs well, and is often faster than running applications on separate machines due to optimized performance and networking capabilities within OCI."
"The flexibility is most valuable, because by having our infrastructure in the cloud we are able to spin up instances as needed and alter the capacity as needed, and everything is working as we expect it."
"Apart from the licensing, there's support from Oracle Cloud Platform which improved our day to day operations, time is reduced, and based on this service we are able to scale up dependent applications as quickly as we can."
"The object storage and managed backup solution are valuable."
"Oracle Cloud Platform has good scalability."
"What I like most about Oracle Cloud Platform is the ease of getting data in and out of the cloud, and the affordable licensing."
"The key feature of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is its seamless integration with Oracle applications."
"It offers easy provisioning, and we were able to get a server up and running in an hour."
"The automated features of auto-purging in 12c helps clear disk space on a routine basis."
"The most valuable feature of the product is being able to test on multiple platforms for Oracle, for VMware, and so on."
"Developers deploy their builds and if we need to scale the environment we can do it quickly."
"Backing up and recovery for my domain is very easy and fast. In addition, applying patches and undoing applied patches is effective and easy to do."
"The solution's technical support is good."
"Fast, rapid and agile development and deployment of an ADF application (within Proof-of-Concept project) involves four developers in a distributed team (across two different time-zones) and through this they are able to cooperate quickly, without the usual problems of dev/test environment deployments."
"With Oracle Java Cloud Service, in a few clicks, you can set up an entire WebLogic server in the AWS cloud services and the storage cloud services."

Cons

"The product could use some more development and maturity so it has more peripheral functionality already integrated."
"Portability of the VMware environment into the Oracle Cloud should be made more simple."
"Managed services for Postgres are not available in Oracle Cloud."
"The solution isn't very mature. The on-premises deployment has more features and the cloud needs to work to match those options."
"Specific to the Oracle Cloud; while they have been able to showcase inbuilt features for Oracle applications, what doesn't really come across clearly is what happens when you want to host, work with, or integrate with applications outside of the Oracle stack."
"I would like them to make it easier. The creation process is very long. There is a very long cookbook that we needed to build. It requires the DBA to build it well, and when you don't build it well it causes a lot of problems. We would like this process to be more automatic."
"Database instances and computer storage are areas with shortcomings in the product that need improvement."
"The price in the subscription, for those who may want to subscribe to the cloud as a customer, keeps those potential customers from even considering it as a solution."
"I think there should be improvement with the speed and it should offer a more diverse selection of the suites that I can use."
"There are issues with the application's development, including small glitches and errors."
"So far, the only issue I have is with the storage cloud."
"Needs better integration with other Oracle/non-Oracle products."
"Customer service could be improved."
"It has been built on Java technology but requires more integration with other APIs and CI tools."
"The security part of the tool is not so strong, making it an area I would like to see improved in the solution."
"Integration with Oracle products is well-supported. The same should be provided for other products that are used in most organizations, like PeopleSoft, CA, etc."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle Cloud Platform has a decent pricing model."
"The solution is cheaper compared to Oracle E-Business Suite."
"It is cheaper as a solution model. It isn’t cheaper than SAP but offers more features and competition."
"My ROI has increased."
"The product offers a subscription-based licensing model."
"OCI is the cost-effectiveness compared to other similar services, assuming all compliance regulations are met. Additionally, they offer a number of things free of charge, which is particularly beneficial for smaller clients."
"We pay the subscription cost."
"The pricing is the best."
"It is somewhat expensive."
"Oracle is a little more expensive right now, but not much compared to SAP. Oracle's prices are very much dependent on the scale of the project and how many users are there."
"Oracle Java Cloud Service is an expensive product."
