Captures and simulates live system behavior from recordings
Virtualizing a component or service which does not exist or is under development. - Broad, flexible support for literal, XML, JSON requests & responses - Broad, flexible support for Protocol (HTTP, HTTPS, JMS, MQ & for other traffic types such as SQL Queries), Transport & Message Formats (i.e. EDI messages) - Ability to create data driven responders - Recording traffic by acting as a proxy and replaying the recorded traffic for quick and easy virtual asset creation. - Virtualize fills the gap by providing access to their behavior by removing dependency of databases, mainframes, third-party systems, etc. - No Limitations on Traffic hits per day.

Has transformed testing by reducing scripting effort and enhancing productivity with advanced features
The self-healing feature of Tricentis Tosca needs significant improvement. Currently, it is static and not dynamic. For example, if a button in an application changes, Tricentis Tosca should be smart enough to detect the change and still execute the script seamlessly. Improvements are needed to ensure it responds dynamically to changes in the application.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is quite easy to manage."
"Software testing tool that has multiple features. It's good to use for SAP testing, and it helps reduce test execution time."
"Tricentis Tosca can be easily integrated with SAP infrastructure."
"It's stable and reliable."
"We have multiple applications, and it supports parallel execution. It has mobile automation."
"I rate the overall solution a ten out of ten as I am satisfied with it."
"The solution can be deployed in DevOps and ERP environments like Oracle Fusion. It accelerates testing with the libraries. The product incorporates libraries and is more sensitive to the scans."
"To me, what stands out the most about Tricentis Tosca is that even if I'm not a technical tester, I could pick up on how to use it very quickly because of the mechanisms of the tool, for example, its scanning mechanism. I'm not so technical, but I'm able to maneuver through Tricentis Tosca and derive capability. It's a user-friendly tool. It's not very complex."
"The solution is script-less, so you don't need IT knowledge to use the solution in an operational way. This is the most valuable feature. It's also only one of two or three tools that can do good automation on SAP, and in my opinion, it's the best of those."

Cons

"It would be ideal if the product offered more in terms of data virtualization or have a separate product that could be combined with this one that could offer a bit more in order to cover more of our requirements."
"The product's test case management functionality needs enhancement."
"The solution should work with the Linux platform. Right now, it only runs on Windows."
"You need to spend much more time learning the tool and how to use it, compared to others."
"The support we received from Tricentis Tosca was good, but it can improve."
"They can make it more stable. I have used this tool for SAP applications. They have an alliance with SAP, and it mostly worked fine, but there were a few glitches. However, we got the required support from the Tricentis team. They are coming up with their new versions and upgrades with respect to how the Tricentis systems as cloud applications are updated, and it would be good if they have a robust accelerator pack."
"Their license management should be improved. One of our customers is a global customer. They want to use one licensed server and then split the licenses based on the different users of the different business units, but currently, there is only one license server that everybody can access. There is no control, and that's why sometimes congestion can happen."
"Product quality has declined as it grows, and its updates aren't without fault. The process of resolving problems has slowed, and as it expands into other areas like NeoLoad and other testing tools, the product becomes more complicated. It used to be a small firm with a clear goal, but as it grows, the quality has been affected."
"The Vision AI implementation works very slowly, affecting the speed of our work. The exploratory testing feature is not working for version 2023.1, which we are currently using."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We have around 200 [concurrent] licenses and the cost around $1.4 million a year."
"The price of Tricentis Tosca is approximately Є10,000 for one license. However, it used to be much cheaper, but they changed their license structure. It used to be a structure where if you bought a license you would receive one year of free support and maintenance. Now they only have a yearly license, and that is expensive."
"I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. It is on the higher side."
"There are different types of licenses: enterprise or professional. The cost varies."
"The licensing cost for Tricentis Tosca is expensive. It has multiple features, but to use all of its features, you have to pay for additional licenses."
"Expensive, but for long-term projects, it is paying back."
"They are probably more expensive than other comparable tools, but you also get the full suite of testing tools."
"Tricentis Tosca is not expensive at all."
