Easy to set up and scale but needs more data virtualization capabilities
I'm working with a service organization and I'm working for a client and that client requires this solution. That's why we use it. Basically, we are just a customer and end-user. The solution is easy to set up and a good tool for the service virtualization so far. I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten. If the product could do more things, I'd give it higher marks.

End-to-end regression automation has accelerated delivery and now secures complex test data
I think Tosca can be improved, particularly in AI capabilities because right now Tosca does not have any strong API capabilities. It has some AI features in the newer version, but many organizations have not adopted these due to version-specific problems, as some are still using older versions. From an AI point of view, they can enhance reliability since the world is moving towards AI, and every tool must be integrated. While Tosca has made attempts, I have not used them and they are not widely adopted, so they are stuck in the testing phase in my organization. I would also mention that while I am currently using Tosca Mobile, the loading part and connectivity issues need improvement. They should better integrate AI features that are already present but not widely used across many organizations. Reliability on the AI aspect needs enhancement for practical application. From the perspective of governance and security, I believe Tosca can develop its own LLM or leverage third-party LLMs while maintaining security and risk management regarding client data. Many companies prefer using Tosca due to data security, which is crucial. An in-house LLM could significantly enhance its debugging power and provide helpful solutions upon test case failure.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is easy to set up and a good tool for the service virtualization so far."
"We decided to use the Parasoft solution because it's more powerful and very easy to use."
"Parasoft's product is easier to operate, and drives the user to make the right decisions and complete the work efficiently."
"Parasoft Virtualization allowed us to create a simulated environment and test the code before entering the testing cycle."
"Easy testing environment creation. No need to have deep development/infrastructure knowledge."
"The technical support is very good, with short lines and short response times from well-skilled technical employees."
"Service Virtualization has provided a way to move forward where we do not find any way to go."
"We now have the ability to test our complex applications completely detached from integration middleware, which improves the reliability, speed, cost, and simplicity of testing."
"The features I find most valuable in Tricentis Tosca are that it's the easiest way to build the scripts and to do the CI/CD process; using Tricentis Tosca is very useful and easy."
"From our clients perspective (e.g. large banks, government organisations etc.), it has allowed them to decrease their total execution effort, improve their time to market, and increase their total risk coverage."
"Improves the software quality in production by finding more defects with automated test sets, before transporting developments to production."
"The initial setup isn't too difficult."
"As a codeless automation tool, the product offers a user-friendly experience without requiring extensive coding knowledge. Users can easily handle various applications, including web applications, SAP applications, Windows applications, and even Salesforce applications, without manual coding."
"The use of automation is most valuable."
"Customer Service: Best I have ever seen. Technical Support: Best I have ever seen."
"Tricentis Tosca positively impacts my organization because it provides a full end-to-end automation solution, whether it is mainframe, DB, API, mobile, Windows application, web application, SAP applications, or any kind of application."

Cons

"It would be ideal if the product offered more in terms of data virtualization or have a separate product that could be combined with this one that could offer a bit more in order to cover more of our requirements."
"It is somewhat complex regarding its configuration setup with different technologies."
"This product is too expensive when scaling."
"Only about the memory, if you don't meet the minimum RAM required, performance is not stable."
"An area of improvements would be Data Repository, as in current stage it is difficult to manage data from this aspect."
"Performance enhancement for large payloads."
"JMS Queue Monitoring: When deploying the TIBCO JMS monitor, we saw an approximately 50% failure rate in detecting the desired event."
"It should have more fine-grained authorization."
"The product, at times, does not recognize objects, especially in web applications."
"Might have a learning curve, as it does not follow the traditional Record-Play functionality, but tests have to be built from requirements or Agile story cards."
"Not being able to mask test data in relation to testing data management, in my opinion, is also a limitation."
"Tricentis Tosca could improve on the ease of use. There is a steep learning curve. The reporting section could be better and some of the new features could be simplified. Additionally, the user management of the client and the server are confusing. There should not be two."
"So far, all our issues have had to do with our unfamiliarity with the product."
"In Tosca, I see that there are no user guides."
"I would like to be able to manage different projects in one repository or have better data exchange between repositories."
"The main area where there is room for improvement is how they do upgrades. Going through this current upgrade, we were delayed a month because we are using a third-party tool. It's called Tosca Connect by Tasktop. When this latest upgrade broke that relationship between the two, it took Tricentis a month to come back with a workable solution... Their whole upgrade process needs to be better and cleaner, from an end-user standpoint."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I give the cost of Tricentis Tosca a six out of seven."
"I am satisfied with the cost."
"It is expensive."
"There are two licenses: single user and multiple user. A multiple-user license means that several people can work together on one project and collaborate on code stored in a central location. A single-user license is for people working alone on a one particular application. It's much cheaper than a multi-user workspace. If you are getting a large volume of licenses for an enterprise, you can probably negotiate a discount, but I'm not sure about that."
"Although the product is slightly more expensive than tools, its automation capabilities and reduced scripting needs justify the cost."
"If you are purchasing less than five licenses, then the pricing is high. On a scale from one to ten, with one being low and ten being high pricing, I would rate this solution at eight."
"There is an annual cost for Tricentis."
"I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to talk about the pricing, but it has some significant costs. For example, you have to pay a license and maintenance fee. Then the rest of the terms are negotiable. We have to consider what we need and what benefit we get from it."
