Trustworthy and provides good availability
Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over. It could be more of a knowledge transfer situation that didn't happen, but we didn't know if it was easy to use. Precisely Assure QuickEDD is deployed on the cloud in our organization. The implementation of QLED helped us with our recovery time objective and was a seamless transition. In order to utilize the product to its fullest potential, users should be knowledgeable of what it offers. They should also form a relationship with the person who is their representative. Overall, I rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its initial setup is fine; it is straightforward and easy."
"The most valuable feature of Precisely Assure QuickEDD is the backup system."
"Synchronous applications are valuable."
"With Replication, Veeam allows us to have a duplicated VM on standby."
"What I like most about this solution are the simplicity and the price-performance ratio."
"Veeam One is a centralized management and centralized reporting tool. The tool has supportive infrastructure to create specialised applications and some server application. You can add all the resources and infrastructure. You will get the reports, can easily manage and monitor any feature."
"Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires."
"The product is very reliable, easy to manage, and, above all, complete."
"Go ahead, it is a very good choice and will give you peace of mind."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"You will enjoy Veeam's resiliency."

Cons

"It is expensive. The cost varies based on your requirements."
"There should be more interactive dashboards."
"Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over."
"The product is missing some commonsense features and tools for an enterprise backup recovery product, but it is reliable, fairly resilient, and works."
"The one downside to Veeam is that they don't have a cloud product of their own."
"We have had problems with some jobs. For example, when we have a VM with a large SQL Database, sometimes we cannot adjust the time for transaction logs to back up and overlap time."
"The documentation and communication could be better in Veeam Backup Replication."
"We relied on the cloud backup, however, the data in the cloud ended up also getting corrupted due to the ransomware."
"Veeam doesn't have the reporting part quite right. Its data visualization isn't as slick as other solutions like Veritas. For example, in Veritas, you can see a calendar that shows you which days are backed up. Veeam lacks features like that."
"The solution's pricing may be expensive compared to other products."
"I would like for them to develop the ability to fix the way it does backups. We can't pick a backup for one database. We have to do a backup on the whole Exchange VM. I'd like for them to change it to where we can do individual backups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive. The cost varies based on your requirements. If you want to manage it, there is an extra cost."
"Pricing is not the cheapest, but you get a lot of value for your money."
"The pricing structure for Veeam ONE has changed to what is now called the "VUL" or "Universal License". Previously, people mainly used socket licenses, but this has now changed. The new pricing structure was introduced last year."
"The tool is reasonably priced for the quality it provides."
"This is not an expensive solution. It's on the cheaper side."
"The license subscription could be more straightforward."
"We use the community edition of the Veeam Backup Replication and it is a software-based license. It can be a little expensive."
"Veeam products are less expensive than other products. The licensing costs are low and they're pretty affordable."
"Since pricing is per socket, it is not expensive to add capacity as you go along."
