Testing solution supports Java testing with good reliability
There is nothing you can do for almost every application. If you do it for a single version, it is rather easy. However, if you want to run it for different versions of the software, then you need the Qt version of Java. You need to set up some special environment variables to be able to do that.

Smart locators and small learning curve streamline test automation, minimizing maintenance and boosting efficiency.
Testim has a specific feature called a smart locator. Anyone experienced in test automation knows this is one of the most complex parts of developing automated scripts. The Testim feature automatically finds the locators, which helps us build stable test scripts. Stable scripts are crucial for receiving faster and more reliable feedback. I have also seen reduced maintenance due to smart locators, as it automatically finds locators for us even with minor application changes.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Squish is integrated with Qt, which enables us to test the user interface effectively."
"If you are looking for simple, not expensive, with nice support and for Qt-application tool – I think, it’s the best one."
"I find it very user-friendly and easy to start working with. The main benefit for me is that it allows testing applications developed in the Qt language. This capability makes Squish a game-changer, as it's the only tool I've found that enables automation for applications written in Qt. I appreciate three main aspects. Firstly, the documentation is excellent. Secondly, I value the way the tool efficiently locates elements during testing. These are the two aspects I particularly like."
"froglogic Squish is one of the most desired solutions if you are having a Qt as a framework and if you are looking at GUI regression testing. froglogic is a part of Qt as a company."
"The biggest ROI is the time that we got back from our QA team because they didn’t have to manually regression test our product every release."
"It is very stable."
"Squish data-driven testing is very powerful and we can easily check for bulk and huge data without any issues."
"The initial setup process is straightforward."
"We added Testim to our CI flow. It allows us to test only tasks that already passed sanity tests."
"The Testim technical support is very responsive and worked with a specific team member on the First Databank side to answer hard technical questions and took enhancement requests as needed."
"Testim introduces three services covering validation steps, eliminating the necessity to write complex code."
"We primarily use the solution for business E2E testing, as it is fast and reliable, easy to maintain, and allows for the involvement of QA as well as Dev and BA."
"The ease of learning and the small learning curve allowed us to scale the test scripts and the test suite quickly."
"The feature I like most about Testim is the record and playback capability, which does not require writing a lot of code."
"The automating smoke and regression tests have become easier and handier and manual efforts are saved."
"The REST API features allowed integrated testing for select products to quickly make calls and test the UIs with API calls while the CLI allows us to matrix the grid function across browsers."

Cons

"You need to set up some special environment variables."
"The most complete way of testing is on several OS's, even platforms. Here, the solution provided by Squish, through several Python script files, could be simplified in such a way, so that even black box testers could manage it easily."
"We encountered issues with the embedded environment and building for the Qt version."
"It would make the work of the Squish user easier and quicker if Squish would display the proper feature names, when assigned."
"The only criticism I have is the IDE needed a bit of polish in version 5.2 (this may have been fixed in the latest versions)."
"It still requires better solutions for object identification and an enhancement to identify all the objects of the AUT before building the object map."
"Recording tests with Squish IDE creates quite ugly code and it is very difficult to maintain tests that have been recorded."
"We have faced some difficulties in identifying canvas objects initially."
"The UI could use a better design with a better user experience in mind."
"The API testing integration is a bit lacking and can be improved."
"In the last couple of months, I have experienced some downtime where it wasn't working."
"The accessibility reporting features could be more robust to be reported at the script level and allow users to map down to the step level."
"The UI could use a better design with a better user experience in mind, for instance - instead of going in and out of the editor every time I want to view test data for a test, I could just view the test data in the table, or the ability to copy steps through tests."
"There were some issues in the product's initial setup phase in regard to the area of documentation since it wasn't very easy to understand everything mentioned in it."
"Faster scripting would be beneficial, as test creation is faster now."
"There is currently no room for improvement that I can identify as of now."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive."
"The price could be better. I believe each developer license costs about 6000 or 7000 Euros per year."
"The platform is highly-priced."
"The solution is not expensive."

"The tool offers a fixed pricing model for our company."
