Threaded collaboration has transformed how our team tracks tickets and monitors automation updates
One suggestion I would make for improving Slack Business - Enterprise is the support of multimedia such as images and videos that we can easily share through Slack. That would be great. Additionally, another thing is AI integration; if Slack has some AI capabilities to get insights about conversations or summarization, that would be a great feature. If Slack has an AI feature that can summarize a particular Slack thread and provide a summary of that, that would be a great feature for us. I would rate it a ten if it comes with some AI features, particularly using generative AI to produce summarization and other kinds of insights from communication in a more secure, data-secure way.

I think we should have some improvements in Yammer, similar to what we have in Facebook and others, where we can have targeted communications, so that we can filter some communications to go to a specific subset of that group, not to everybody. We would love to have some AI technologies included in Yammer, but I do not have a specific use case in mind right now.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has definitively made an improvement on our productivity."
"I am impressed with the product's calls and screen share features which are very useful."
"When we work with a platform like Slack, we can have one source without merging different document versions."
"The solution's initial setup process is easy."
"The most valuable features are video conferencing and sharing content during meetings."
"Slack is a powerpack bundle of features that help small or large organizations to handle teams and their tasks."
"Slack is a very robust, flexible platform, which allows for a lot more, not just chat."
"You can create channels between teams internally and externally, which is great. There is a lot of security with Slack internal, which is what I value."
"We can send out notifications and ask questions using Yammer."
"Yammer allows collaboration anywhere, anytime, on any device."
"The most valuable feature of Yammer is that it provides integration with Teams."
"The initial setup was simple and straightforward."
"External collaboration with partners: There is a unified way to send updates about departments and the enterprise, rather than sending separate communications."
"The most valuable feature of Yammer is its integration with all the services of Office 365."
"It has improved information sharing across the company which allows for problems to be solved much faster."
"Yammer shows the post’s actions, comments, and how people react. We can quickly see what's going on."

Cons

"The solution’s initial setup is not very easy."
"Some features and plugins can be pretty obscure or difficult to deploy."
"We’d like it to have more capability for everyone to work on one doc in real time all at once."
"Readability. It's disputed but HipChat is winning this battle due to the larger reading screen space."
"The tool has stability issues that need to be improved. We are not native English speakers and Slack needs to integrate grammar checks."
"Its capabilities to provide security features could be better for corporations."
"Archiving for direct messages made tracking back conversations very difficult once the group started to grow large."
"We are using the free version and some people from our team wish that the message history had not been removed, so if you sometimes need to go back a few months in a conversation, the paid version would be something to consider."
"Yammer's UX and UI are areas with certain shortcomings where improvements are required"
"I would give the technical support a rating of 3/10."
"The product seems to just add to the complexity of using existing tools."
"There is a need for full integration with the other features of Office 365."
"MS made us plenty of promises for Yammer and have not delivered."
"Perhaps keep working on the integration of other Office products."
"If you are using other applications that are tough to integrate into the environment, that can cause limitations."
"The solution's feature for sharing could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We use the free version that does not have a license."
"The solution is cheap in my country."
"It is an affordable solution."
"It is an expensive tool. We pay 15 to 20 USD monthly per user."
"Slack is definitely worth the money."
"The pricing can range up to about twenty bucks a user. You can spend a lot of money, especially if you're talking about thousands of users. Generally speaking, Slack is less expensive than Teams. Slack doesn't include all the bells and whistles that Teams does. So you can go from a $6 license in Microsoft 365 to a $50 license per user per month, and there's a lot more you can do in the $50 license."
"The solution’s pricing is cheap."
"The solution is expensive."
"I think that there is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution."
"The pricing is not bad."
"Compared to other products like Amazon, Yammer's pricing is fine."
"I don't know about the pricing. Now that Microsoft has bought Yammer, it should be a part of our subscriptions for Office 365."
"Yammer is a pretty cheap solution, and it's included in multiple subscriptions."
"We get it as part of our Office 365 subscriptions, so I don't think we pay any additional cost for Yammer. It's included in the Office 365 subscriptions."
"Its cost is included in the license bundle for Microsoft."
