Room For Improvement

Veeam Data Platform faces integration and support challenges, high costs, and complex setup, impacting functionality and user satisfaction.
Veritas NetBackup Appliance needs improved UI, scalability, cost efficiency, cloud integration, security, management, and support for competitiveness.
The improvement we would like to see is the option to scale Veeam Data up in smaller sections rather than large sections, which requires paying much more.
OpenStack is something Veeam Data Platform doesn't support, and they haven't indicated that they will support it in the future.
Reducing it by 20% would make it more accessible to a broader range of customers.
I believe they can do more to give customers more insight into their data, allowing them to see it and understand what they can do, such as archiving old data.
The only room for improvement is that the cost per terabyte is extremely high.
Improving the interface could enhance user experience.

Setup Cost

Veeam Data Platform offers competitive pricing with predictable CPU socket-based licensing, though additional features can increase costs.
Veritas NetBackup Appliance is pricey with complex licensing, yet some justify costs for its features despite high renewal expenses.
Veeam Data Platform is more expensive than OpenStack because we pay for it in US dollars, while we pay for OpenStack in Egyptian pounds.
A reduction of 20% in the current cost would make the solution more attractive to clients.
From what I know, it is expensive to add modules, with a scale rating of eight out of ten.
It's more costly than Commvault, which offers similar features at 70% of the price.
The price is slightly expensive for small and medium enterprises.
The cost of the product is reasonably priced.

Veritas NetBackup Appliance offers fast, cost-efficient backup with easy integration, scalability, user-friendly interface, and strong technical support.
The platform is user-friendly, comprehensive, and compatible with numerous market solutions, including virtualization and bare metal servers.
It is also one of the most scalable backup solutions I've worked with.
Veeam Data Platform provides me with the most useful features such as application restore, single file restore, backup and replication, and continuous replication.
The biggest advantage is that I do not need to manage backups on traditional tapes, which helps maintain total business continuity.
It integrates with monitoring tools like Splunk and supports automation through Python, Shell, or Ansible.
The deduplication technology in Veritas NetBackup Appliance is one of the key features which is very beneficial to users who have large data that is similar in terms of file extensions.

Enhanced data retention and recovery with robust backup features
The Oracle Agent and Oracle RAC support are valuable features; they are crucial for taking backups and cloning applications. NetBackup Appliance has many features. Backup Exec is a great product as well. NetBackup is well-developed with strong features, including deduplication technology, which allows us to retain backups for longer periods—exceeding our expectations by keeping backups for almost a month. It's effective for data recovery and capable of handling large-scale data recoveries. It is very stable and keeps applications secure. However, the AI integration is not yet tested.
