Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

It's easy to use and restore. Tech support is also good.
Easy to use and restore. Restoring when there is issue. Backup bigger virtual machines (VMs). Six years. No. Some big servers don't seem to backup well. Good. Straightforward. It's easy to use.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"So far, it's worked quite well for our clients and I can't think of any places where the solution is lacking feature-wise."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ease of deployment, its many interesting functions, and its good performance for both backup and restoration."
"Veeam is the best one that understands and integrates easily with virtual infrastructure."
"It's improved backup recovery time significantly, and makes backup testing a breeze."
"We use it to back up and restore our virtual machine in a live environment without restoring the complete virtual machine, as it just mounts its storage to the NFS and makes the machine live in seconds, which is our favourite feature in Veeam ONE."
"I consider the solution's technical support to be excellent, perfect."
"Most of the features that we can use with HPE products are directly integrated with the Veeam. This is very important for the customers to have only one pane of glass to manage the backups and also use the HPE products for the backups."
"The initial setup was very easy."
"Easy to use and restore."

Cons

"I don't really like the proprietary file system or file structure, I always prefer the most simple functionalities where I can define this server, this file, these folders, backing up for this target, etc."
"The pricing could be better."
"The initial setup could be simplified. It takes some time to get through the knowledge base and the changes in the versions over time."
"It is always nice to get products cheaper."
"The result was many failed backups due to "no more space" errors!"
"The data duplication should be improved."
"We experienced a couple of issues where the Veeam ONE server went down because the SQL database grew too much, and we had to recreate it a couple of times."
"The solution is snapshot-based with no vCloud Director integration and a very incomplete knowledge base."
"Some big servers don't seem to backup well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This product is not cheap, but it's well worth the cost."
"We have a yearly perpetual license."
"I have not used the resale license in our testing environments. Sometimes, our customers used the trial license for 30 days and so on."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"I think the price is good when you choose the Essentials Suite, but when you buy a full featured version (for instance the Enterprise Plus) the price is a little bit expensive."
"If you have Veeam Backup and Replication with the essential license then this solution is free. If you were to purchase Veeam ONE by itself it is priced cheaper than competitors."
"The pricing depends on the number of clients. We pay 10,00 USD per year. On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
"It is relatively cheap."
