Debian has been a very reliable and stable foundation for all the systems I have worked on, and its package management, transparency, and predictable updates have been extremely helpful, especially for embedded and production environments.
Debian is straightforward, compatible, open source, and lightweight, simplifying engineers' tasks with its good release cycle. It ensures stability, scalability, zero downtime, and reliable package management, reducing costs on Amazon EC2. While offering many benefits, Debian could improve in software installation methods and communication about updates. Limitations include slow access to new software, restricted on-premises scalability, and the need for a reset feature for restoring default settings. Hardware dependency hinders use with newer components.
