PROS

Dell RecoverPoint has enhanced RTO and RPO, ensuring improved recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.
It offers continuous data replication with minimal data loss and the ability to replicate data from distant locations.
Block-level replication and automatic failover are among the most valuable features of Dell RecoverPoint.
Stability is a key highlight, with many users forgetting its presence due to its seamless operation.
Technical support for Dell RecoverPoint is highly rated, contributing to its overall preferred status among users.

CONS

Dell RecoverPoint is limited to specific storage types and could benefit from supporting larger amounts and diverse types to cater to a broader market.
It is designed to integrate with Dell EMC storage only, restricting usage with other brands like IBM or HP.
Licensing costs are high, potentially affecting scalability and making it less affordable for mid-size organizations due to additional network investment requirements.
Dell RecoverPoint is no longer supported as it fails to replicate between different storage systems and is considered an older technology not recommended for new deployments by Dell EMC.
It requires double the storage capacity for source and target storage areas, creating a heavy burden on resources.

The image backup feature is great. For example, if you set the journal to take a backup every ten minutes, it will create a snapshot or pointer every ten minutes for as long as you need.

We use RecoverPoint for disaster recovery and asynchronous replication, and we use the application at a block level, not the software level. This has been tested, and it's very durable.

In the future, I would like Dell RecoverPoint to evolve as an orchestration tool that can integrate with other replication tools such as Microsoft native replication and Oracle Data Guard.

RecoverPoint is designed to integrate seamlessly with Dell EMC storage. If you don't have Dell EMC storage, you can't use it with other brands like IBM or HP.

Considering the speed Dell RecoverPoint can recover data, it would be good if we could replicate data from on-premise to the cloud with this solution.

Integration with VMware is the only thing we need to improve. Another feature I'd like to see is the ability to convert management to HTML. And the integration should also be done on the same level.
