We primarily use the solution for security reasons, including for protection against antiviruses.

Excellent protection with good tutorials and helpful documentation
Pros and Cons
- "I like the integration; it lets you see the product installed on a particular computer."
- "The protection and security have been great."
- "I've had a few other instances where the program stops running, and then you have to restore and reset it."
- "Sometimes it is not running as well. When it actually doesn't work properly, then the whole process of reinstalling it is more or less a tedious task."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The protection and security have been great.
I like the integration; it lets you see the product installed on a particular computer.
There are good documentation and tutorial materials.
It's scalable.
What needs improvement?
Right now, the link between the Protect Server and the proxy features don't really work as intended.
I've had a few other instances where the program stops running, and then you have to restore and reset it.
If those features can be worked on, that would be very helpful.
A bit more remote access would be ideal.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution since about 2012.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Sometimes it is not running as well. When it actually doesn't work properly, then the whole process of reinstalling it is more or less a tedious task. If they could actually work on that and make it a lot better, that would be good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is the only one I've ever known so far in terms of such deployment. I'm not comparing it with any other solutions. I love the control that it gives you on even on a large scale. When we deployed now to over 100 users and it worked well. For us, it is scalable.
Right now, we're up to 120 machines. It keeps increasing and therefore we will increase usage.
How are customer service and support?
I don't really deal with support. I mostly do my own research. I've never had to engage with support with the access I have to tutorials and documentation.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I did not previously use a different solution.
How was the initial setup?
It's a little bit complicated to set up. Even the deployment process for the endpoint that's deployed through GPO. Obviously, when you have the agent deployment is quite a challenge, so it just doesn't work as a straightforward deployment. You want the endpoint antivirus to be able to talk with the Protect Server. However, it's the deployment that's a bit of a challenge.
I'd rate it four out of five in terms of the ease of setup.
The deployment takes longer than we anticipated.
What about the implementation team?
I just did the initial setup myself in-house.
What was our ROI?
I haven't witnessed an ROI.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I was put on an educational discount. I paid about $1000. I'd have to look through my records. However, we paid maybe $600 to $1000 for this product. I pay for the product every two years. There are no extra costs or fees beyond the licensing.
What other advice do I have?
I'd advise others to use the solution.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten since I have yet to experience any intrusion.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Reasonable solution that works in the background
Pros and Cons
- "They do a program where you can renew for three years. It's very reasonable, as far as the cost per year, because you can renew for three years. They will also do multiple computers, so I actually protect all my family computers, as well as my work computers, all under one license. This means I only have to deal with re-upping my license once every three years. That's the big thing for me."
- "Once you install it, it is very stable because you don't have to renew it every year."
- "It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit. However, this happens rarely."
- "It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit."
What is our primary use case?
My primary use case for ESET Endpoint Security is internet security.
What is most valuable?
There are two things I like the most about ESET Endpoint Security. One, it's a seamless update. In other words, it updates all in the background. You don't have to restart your computer after an update. It takes care of itself, updates all the time, and stays up to date. It automatically installs those updates, similar to what Windows does.
The second biggest ESET Endpoint Security plus is the value. They do a program where you can renew for three years. It's very reasonable, as far as the cost per year, because you can renew for three years. They will also do multiple computers, so I actually protect all my family computers, as well as my work computers, all under one license. This means I only have to deal with re-upping my license once every three years. That's the big thing for me.
There is another nice ESET Endpoint Security feature: you can shut it off for 10 minutes and then turn it back on.
What needs improvement?
For the most part, I'm really satisfied with ESET Endpoint Security. It works in the background and that is one of the reasons that I went with this solution. It doesn't bog down my computer, for the most part. That's probably one of the things that could be improved. It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit. However, this happens rarely.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've had ESET Endpoint Security on all my computers for four or five years, maybe even longer.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have never really had the solution crash. It's super stable.
There have been some times that I've had problems connecting to different computers, but I resolved this issue by temporarily shutting off the solution for a few minutes.
How are customer service and support?
ESET Endpoint Security's tech support is very responsive. I don't get an answer back from them in five minutes, but the few times that I've had to talk to somebody, for instance, for license renewal, I usually hear back within 24 hours. That's very responsive in my opinion.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I cover, I think, eight computers and it turns out to be right around $50 for three years. It's a very reasonable solution. I like that.
What other advice do I have?
Once you install it, it is very stable because you don't have to renew it every year. You just do an install and know you're protected. The installation is also hassle-free.
Overall, I would give this solution a nine out of 10 for performance.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

IT Manager at a consultancy with self employed
A scalable and stable solution that meets our needs and is working well
Pros and Cons
- "All of our devices are integrated with the solution."
- "Endpoint Security currently meets our needs; all of our devices are integrated with the solution, and it is working so well that we renewed the contract for two more years."
- "The new versions only support no operative systems in Mac and do not support operative systems."
- "When we rule a scanner process on the heart risk, it is very slow and overloads the machine."
What is our primary use case?
We only use Endpoint Server.
What is most valuable?
Endpoint Security currently meets our needs. We are implementing a cyber-security process. After doing a lab analysis, we determined we have one more we need to implement.
All of our devices are integrated with the solution. It is working so well that we renewed the contract for two more years.
What needs improvement?
When we rule a scanner process on the heart risk, it is very slow and overloads the machine. It would be beneficial if we could run a back process.
I would like to see more listings added in the next release of ESET Endpoint. The new versions only support no operative systems in Mac and do not support operative systems.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using ESET Endpoint Security for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
ESET Endpoint Security is scalable, the performance can be increased. We have 500 people, including Managers and the IT team, using the solution.
The product requires eight specialists to deploy and maintain.
How are customer service and support?
Customer service and support are very helpful for us. When we have a problem, they help us immediately.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We have also used Kaspersky, but it was very slow.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was easy for us. Our team has the tools and experience to manage implementation. It took 10 days to deploy throughout the enterprise.
What was our ROI?
It is difficult to measure ROI as we do not know what we could have lost without implementing ESET Endpoint Security. What we do know is that we do not have any attacks, and that is very important.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing. We have an annual license.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before selecting ESET Endpoint Security, we evaluated Panda, McAfee, and Kaspersky.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend ESET Endpoint Security to anyone considering implementing this product.
ESET Endpoint is a nine out of 10 overall.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Beneficial malware defense, useful notifications, but mobile coverage could improve
Pros and Cons
- "There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good."
- "ESET Endpoint Antivirus could improve the mobile device experience by having more coverage."
What is our primary use case?
When I was still in Cameroon, I was working for an insurance company called Activa and then we were looking for something different than our current security solution Symantec. We were looking around for a solution and someone contacted us who was proposing ESET Endpoint Antivirus. They gave us a trial version for three months, and during the three months, we put in place a type of proof of concept with some servers, virtual machines, and desktops.
After that three-month trial period was extended, but unfortunately, the company was not convinced by the product, and the managers decided to use another solution called SentinelOne.
What is most valuable?
There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good.
When you are using your bank account and your bank card, to do some transaction you will be informed that you are then running under some risk, and then they will then suggest you open a secure page and then use that card inside that secure page. There are some other good website features, such as parental controls. You can prevent your kids from going from one site to another.
When we did the proof of concept on our company we realized that the performance of that server was improved. Users were having access to that server faster than while using the previous security solution. The workload on that server was not enough maybe, but it was a great difference which using ESET Endpoint Antivirus.
What needs improvement?
ESET Endpoint Antivirus could improve the mobile device experience by having more coverage.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used ESET Endpoint Antivirus within the late 12 months.
How are customer service and support?
The support we received was very good during our trial experience. We were contacted regularly about our experience. We were asked if we faced any difficulties and the agent was nice. We were satisfied with the support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We have used Symantec, SentinelOne, Trend Micro Apex One, and Trend Micro Office Scan.
The feature I saw on Symantec was not available on the version we were using in our proof of concept of ESET Endpoint Antivirus. However, I would have liked to have tested the EDR solution from ESET.
How was the initial setup?
ESET Endpoint Antivirus is not difficult to implement.
What other advice do I have?
If I can separate the home product from corporate products. The home product is better than the corporate solution. The ESET Endpoint Antivirus home solution has a bit of an advantage.
I rate ESET Endpoint Antivirus a seven out of ten.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
Senior Manager - IT at a tech vendor with 1,001-5,000 employees
Offers great reporting tools and is cost-effective
Pros and Cons
- "The product offers great reporting tools"
- "The solution is not ideal for use in large enterprises"
What is our primary use case?
ESET Endpoint Protection Platform in my organization has been successful in offering protection against ransomware episodes or malicious attacks.
What is most valuable?
ESET Endpoint Protection Platform offers great reporting tools.
What needs improvement?
The solution is not ideal for use in large enterprises, it can be used efficiently for smaller enterprises. Sometimes, while pushing updates through the cloud console, updates do not get completed due to network dependency. The tool is easy to use but lacks in implementation.
In the future, the solution should be able to handle the network issues effectively from the cloud console. The solution is a cloud product so it communicates with an environment through a network, therefore it should resolve issues automatically or provide precise information about endpoint connection failure.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
There are 2500 users of ESET Endpoint Protection Platform in the organization I work for. I would rate the scalability a nine out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
Urgent support is not available for the solution. I would rate the tech support a six out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In the organization I work for, previously we had used McAfee and Trend Micro. Our organization shifted to ESET Endpoint Protection Platform due to the cost effectiveness.
How was the initial setup?
For the setup, an agent is deployed. That agent takes care of all the audit trails and antivirus software that needs to be installed on the machines. Thus, only a communication agent is required for the installation of ESET Endpoint Protection Platform. It takes only 15 minutes to install the solution.
There is no maintenance required for the solution, it's carried out automatically through the cloud console. If there are some network issues, then the upgrade needs to be pushed to get the latest version.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It's a cost-effective product in comparison to other solutions. I would rate the pricing a six out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
The solution has mediocre adaptation to different business environments. The solution provider is trying to be at an enterprise-grade but still the development is lacking agility.
The multi-layered defense mechanism of the product, including antivirus protection and the inspection feature for auditing, are equally good.
The AI capabilities of the ESET Endpoint Protection Platform are good for enhancing the organization's security posture by tracking activities and blocking the traffic accordingly whenever needed. I would recommend the solution for small and medium enterprises and not for large organizations that have twenty or thirty thousand people operating.
I would rate ESET Endpoint Protection Platform an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

The features seem okay but the console management should be improved
Pros and Cons
- "The features seem to be alright."
- "The solution’s console management and scalability should be improved."
What is our primary use case?
ESET Endpoint Security can be used for a small non-enterprise company.
What is most valuable?
The features seem to be alright.
What needs improvement?
The solution's console management and deployment don't compare to Sophos. There is a general perception that ESET Endpoint Security is not an enterprise-grade product. The solution’s console management and scalability should be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ESET Endpoint Security for many years. But it's not a product that we push actively. We will support if the customer has it, and I'll encourage the customer to move on from there. I personally would not encourage somebody to use this solution. If a customer uses it, I will do my best to convince them to go to Sophos suite.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of the solution seems to be alright.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I don't think this solution is as scalable as Sophos or Check Point. I would rate the scalability of ESET Endpoint Security a six and a half out of ten. We have three customers working with ESET Endpoint Security. I am currently using one engineer for the deployment and maintenance of the solution.
How are customer service and support?
I have never used ESET Endpoint Security’s customer support.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is pretty straightforward. But since our approach includes XDR, EDR, firewalls, and email encryption, Sophos works pretty well for us. The time taken to deploy the solution depends on the size of the customer at the end of the day. But the deployment is very quick, straightforward, and takes about an hour.
The deployment process is customer-dependent and product dependent. It will be around the portal, including the portal for the customer, licensing the portal, and then deploying the agents based on our deployment strategy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Customers buy the ESET Endpoint Security license for a year, two years, or thirty six months.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I rate ESET Endpoint Security between six to seven out of ten.

- "Its initial setup process could be more straightforward."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for endpoint protection.
What is most valuable?
The solution is very stable and efficient in detecting viruses.
What needs improvement?
They should make the solution's initial setup process easier.

We have been using the solution for more than one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate its stability as a ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have 2,000 solution users in our organization. I rate its scalability as a ten.
How are customer service and support?
The solution's customer service is good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used McAfee and Defender previously. We switched to ESET for its cost and functionality.
How was the initial setup?
The solution's initial setup process has a medium complexity. It takes two weeks to deploy it.
What about the implementation team?
Our team of two engineers deploys and maintains the solution in-house.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution's license is moderately priced. We purchase its yearly subscription.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend the solution to others and rate it as a ten.

It's a solid solution for scanning customers' environments
Pros and Cons
- "I rate ESET Endpoint Security eight out of 10 for ease of setup. Setting up ESET can be straightforward or complicated depending on the customer's environment. The deployment time varies, but it's typically around five days. We have a team of four or five people involved in the deployment. Only one person is needed for maintenance. The only maintenance is adjusting the configuration of the dashboard."
- "It's hard to get support for ESET in Hong Kong and China. There's a number to call that goes nowhere. You can upgrade to the premium service, but there are a few restrictions."
What is our primary use case?
We use ESET to scan servers and endpoints.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used ESET for around 10 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Endpoint Security is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
