Reasonable solution that works in the background
Pros and Cons
  • "They do a program where you can renew for three years. It's very reasonable, as far as the cost per year, because you can renew for three years. They will also do multiple computers, so I actually protect all my family computers, as well as my work computers, all under one license. This means I only have to deal with re-upping my license once every three years. That's the big thing for me."
  • "Once you install it, it is very stable because you don't have to renew it every year."
  • "It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit. However, this happens rarely."
  • "It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case for ESET Endpoint Security is internet security.

What is most valuable?

There are two things I like the most about ESET Endpoint Security. One, it's a seamless update. In other words, it updates all in the background. You don't have to restart your computer after an update. It takes care of itself, updates all the time, and stays up to date. It automatically installs those updates, similar to what Windows does.

The second biggest ESET Endpoint Security plus is the value. They do a program where you can renew for three years. It's very reasonable, as far as the cost per year, because you can renew for three years. They will also do multiple computers, so I actually protect all my family computers, as well as my work computers, all under one license. This means I only have to deal with re-upping my license once every three years. That's the big thing for me.

There is another nice ESET Endpoint Security feature: you can shut it off for 10 minutes and then turn it back on.

What needs improvement?

For the most part, I'm really satisfied with ESET Endpoint Security. It works in the background and that is one of the reasons that I went with this solution. It doesn't bog down my computer, for the most part. That's probably one of the things that could be improved. It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit. However, this happens rarely.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've had ESET Endpoint Security on all my computers for four or five years, maybe even longer.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have never really had the solution crash. It's super stable.

There have been some times that I've had problems connecting to different computers, but I resolved this issue by temporarily shutting off the solution for a few minutes.

How are customer service and support?

ESET Endpoint Security's tech support is very responsive. I don't get an answer back from them in five minutes, but the few times that I've had to talk to somebody, for instance, for license renewal, I usually hear back within 24 hours. That's very responsive in my opinion.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I cover, I think, eight computers and it turns out to be right around $50 for three years. It's a very reasonable solution. I like that.

What other advice do I have?

Once you install it, it is very stable because you don't have to renew it every year. You just do an install and know you're protected. The installation is also hassle-free.

Overall, I would give this solution a nine out of 10 for performance.

A scalable and stable solution that meets our needs and is working well
Pros and Cons
  • "All of our devices are integrated with the solution."
  • "Endpoint Security currently meets our needs; all of our devices are integrated with the solution, and it is working so well that we renewed the contract for two more years."
  • "The new versions only support no operative systems in Mac and do not support operative systems."
  • "When we rule a scanner process on the heart risk, it is very slow and overloads the machine."

What is our primary use case?

We only use Endpoint Server.

What is most valuable?

Endpoint Security currently meets our needs. We are implementing a cyber-security process. After doing a lab analysis, we determined we have one more we need to implement.

All of our devices are integrated with the solution. It is working so well that we renewed the contract for two more years.

What needs improvement?

When we rule a scanner process on the heart risk, it is very slow and overloads the machine. It would be beneficial if we could run a back process.

I would like to see more listings added in the next release of ESET Endpoint. The new versions only support no operative systems in Mac and do not support operative systems.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using ESET Endpoint Security for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

ESET Endpoint Security is scalable, the performance can be increased. We have 500 people, including Managers and the IT team, using the solution.

The product requires eight specialists to deploy and maintain.

How are customer service and support?

Customer service and support are very helpful for us. When we have a problem, they help us immediately.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have also used Kaspersky, but it was very slow.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy for us. Our team has the tools and experience to manage implementation. It took 10 days to deploy throughout the enterprise.

What was our ROI?

It is difficult to measure ROI as we do not know what we could have lost without implementing ESET Endpoint Security. What we do know is that we do not have any attacks, and that is very important.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing. We have an annual license.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before selecting ESET Endpoint Security, we evaluated Panda, McAfee, and Kaspersky.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend ESET Endpoint Security to anyone considering implementing this product.

ESET Endpoint is a nine out of 10 overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

In terms of areas for improvement, I didn't see any from ESET Endpoint Security because what's important is that it works as an antivirus solution. I do find its pricing expensive here in Hungary, so if the price could be lower, that would be good.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've worked with ESET Endpoint Security for twenty years, and I've dealt with it over the last twelve months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

ESET Endpoint Security is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I'm unsure of how scalable ESET Endpoint Security is.

How are customer service and support?

I didn't have a need for ESET Endpoint Security technical support, so I didn't contact the support team.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup or installation for ESET Endpoint Security is very easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing for ESET Endpoint Security could be lower because here in Hungary, it's expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an installer of ESET Endpoint Security, particularly its latest version.

I'm rating ESET Endpoint Security eight out of ten. I'm not giving it a ten because the solution, being just an antivirus, doesn't do anything for me.

I'm a customer of ESET Endpoint Security.

Beneficial malware defense, useful notifications, but mobile coverage could improve
Pros and Cons
  • "There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good."
  • "There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet, for example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat and additionally, the malware features are very good."
  • "ESET Endpoint Antivirus could improve the mobile device experience by having more coverage."
  • "After that three-month trial period was extended, but unfortunately, the company was not convinced by the product, and the managers decided to use another solution called SentinelOne."

What is our primary use case?

When I was still in Cameroon, I was working for an insurance company called Activa and then we were looking for something different than our current security solution Symantec. We were looking around for a solution and someone contacted us who was proposing ESET Endpoint Antivirus. They gave us a trial version for three months, and during the three months, we put in place a type of proof of concept with some servers, virtual machines, and desktops.

After that three-month trial period was extended, but unfortunately, the company was not convinced by the product, and the managers decided to use another solution called SentinelOne.

What is most valuable?

There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good.

When you are using your bank account and your bank card, to do some transaction you will be informed that you are then running under some risk, and then they will then suggest you open a secure page and then use that card inside that secure page. There are some other good website features, such as parental controls. You can prevent your kids from going from one site to another.

When we did the proof of concept on our company we realized that the performance of that server was improved. Users were having access to that server faster than while using the previous security solution. The workload on that server was not enough maybe, but it was a great difference which using ESET Endpoint Antivirus.

What needs improvement?

ESET Endpoint Antivirus could improve the mobile device experience by having more coverage.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used ESET Endpoint Antivirus within the late 12 months.

How are customer service and support?

The support we received was very good during our trial experience. We were contacted regularly about our experience. We were asked if we faced any difficulties and the agent was nice. We were satisfied with the support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used Symantec, SentinelOne, Trend Micro Apex One, and Trend Micro Office Scan.

The feature I saw on Symantec was not available on the version we were using in our proof of concept of ESET Endpoint Antivirus. However, I would have liked to have tested the EDR solution from ESET.

How was the initial setup?

ESET Endpoint Antivirus is not difficult to implement.

What other advice do I have?

If I can separate the home product from corporate products. The home product is better than the corporate solution. The ESET Endpoint Antivirus home solution has a bit of an advantage.

I rate ESET Endpoint Antivirus a seven out of ten.

Offers great reporting tools and is cost-effective
Pros and Cons
  • "The product offers great reporting tools"
  • "The solution is not ideal for use in large enterprises"

What is our primary use case?

ESET Endpoint Protection Platform in my organization has been successful in offering protection against ransomware episodes or malicious attacks.

What is most valuable?

ESET Endpoint Protection Platform offers great reporting tools.

What needs improvement?

The solution is not ideal for use in large enterprises, it can be used efficiently for smaller enterprises. Sometimes, while pushing updates through the cloud console, updates do not get completed due to network dependency. The tool is easy to use but lacks in implementation.

In the future, the solution should be able to handle the network issues effectively from the cloud console. The solution is a cloud product so it communicates with an environment through a network, therefore it should resolve issues automatically or provide precise information about endpoint connection failure.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are 2500 users of ESET Endpoint Protection Platform in the organization I work for. I would rate the scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Urgent support is not available for the solution. I would rate the tech support a six out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In the organization I work for, previously we had used McAfee and Trend Micro. Our organization shifted to ESET Endpoint Protection Platform due to the cost effectiveness.

How was the initial setup?

For the setup, an agent is deployed. That agent takes care of all the audit trails and antivirus software that needs to be installed on the machines. Thus, only a communication agent is required for the installation of ESET Endpoint Protection Platform. It takes only 15 minutes to install the solution.

There is no maintenance required for the solution, it's carried out automatically through the cloud console. If there are some network issues, then the upgrade needs to be pushed to get the latest version.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's a cost-effective product in comparison to other solutions. I would rate the pricing a six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

The solution has mediocre adaptation to different business environments. The solution provider is trying to be at an enterprise-grade but still the development is lacking agility.

The multi-layered defense mechanism of the product, including antivirus protection and the inspection feature for auditing, are equally good.

The AI capabilities of the ESET Endpoint Protection Platform are good for enhancing the organization's security posture by tracking activities and blocking the traffic accordingly whenever needed. I would recommend the solution for small and medium enterprises and not for large organizations that have twenty or thirty thousand people operating.

I would rate ESET Endpoint Protection Platform an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Simple and offers low false positives with good pricing
Pros and Cons
  • "Ransomware protection is embedded in the solution."
  • "It would be useful if they could automate the deployment more."

What is our primary use case?

We have 400 seats, and we use Linux Windows and don't have a lot of Macs, so we haven't tested the level of Mac protection. However, this solution is mostly for device protection from malware and ransomware. It's for endpoint security.

How has it helped my organization?

We had a log4j attack, and ESET was able to protect our server.

What is most valuable?

They do not give us a lot of false positives.

It is not heavy on the server. It does not use a lot of computing power.

The facility of use is very good.

Ransomware protection is embedded in the solution.

It offers effective ransomware protection and good protection overall.

We have been able to very effectively block attacks.

The simplicity of the solution is excellent.

It can scale well.

What needs improvement?

It would be useful if they could automate the deployment more.

We have to deploy agent management before deploying software. For Windows, they have an all-in-one package. However, this is not available for Linux. If they had an all-stack protection for Linux, Windows, and Mac, that would be ideal.

Basic technical support could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution for about four years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have around 400 seats in our company.

It's really great in terms of scaling. We haven't had any issues with extendibility. I have no fears about our being able to scale.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is okay. They have online chat. However, it's not always easy to reach the right person. You could get more premium support which is better and does direct you to more local support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup isn't too difficult. I'd rate it nine out of ten in terms of the ease of setup. It's easy to deploy. We install it on-premise, and it is easy to configure. However, if you want to deploy more agents, you have to do it in two steps instead of one.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is fair.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are looking to do a demo of a variety of solutions to see how they would stand up.

What other advice do I have?

We are not an MSP. We are more of a client.

Overall, they offer good protection at a good price and have a lot of functionality and configuration. It's my go-to product when I consider security at home or at my business. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

A good, medium-level MDR with useful deep-learning capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The pricing is reasonable."
  • "I'm unsure as to if they could actually support a large enterprise."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is primarily used as a security tool. We're a distributor of several security technologies. This is an MDR solution. It's similar to Sophos. It protects endpoints. It offers an antivirus and also manages malware as well.

What is most valuable?

It's a good, medium-level MDR. It's good for medium-sized companies.

It's on par with other products on the market, when it comes to endpoint protection.

The remediation and deep learning are very helpful. They tout that malware can be killed within 30 seconds.

Its security approach is very deep.

It's stable and reliable.

The solution can scale.

The pricing is reasonable.

What needs improvement?

I'm unsure as to if they could actually support a large enterprise.

They need to continue to develop their position within the MDR market.

They should develop an XDR solution. That would be the next step for them.

For how long have I used the solution?

I started with this company in January. However, the company has dealt with the solution for three or four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

If you have a simple setup, the stability is good. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution offers good scalability. However, if it is a very large setup, for example, 10,000 or more endpoints, I'm not sure how it would hold up.

We do not have a lot of customers using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is quite good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've dealt with many security solutions, including Sophos and Cynet.

How was the initial setup?

I'm not sure how easy or complex the setup is. I do not handle the deployment. I'm in sales.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not clear on the exact cost of the licensing. I don't handle the configurations. That said, the solution is not overly expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a reseller, and I work with system integrators in Italy.

ESET tends to push the SaaS contract.

I'd recommend the solution to other users.

I would rate the solution eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Provides great protection
Pros and Cons
  • "ESET provides good protection."
  • "I don't know if it's possible but I'm always looking for better protection."

What is our primary use case?

I have a very simple use case which is for providing protection on my home network.

What is most valuable?

ESET provides good protection.

What needs improvement?

I don't know if it's possible but I'm always looking for better protection.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This product is for personal use so I haven't tested scalability.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward, it takes a few minutes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think the licensing costs are reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

If you're providing a solution that prevents people from gaining access to my network then I'm happy. I recommend this product and rate it 10 out of 10.
