I have been working in procurement for more than six years now, and I have a total professional experience of more than eight years.

LinkedIn Learning can have a very positive impact on an organization. Skill development at scale is one of the major positive impacts an organization can have. Employees can quickly upskill in areas such as leadership, data analysis, and within their field. For example, if they are in procurement, they can complete negotiation-related training, or if they are in projects, they have access to a lot of project management training. Additionally, you can improve productivity, enhance employee engagement, ensure consistency in training, enable fast onboarding, and gain data-driven insights.

One of the things I have noticed is better negotiation outcomes after the procurement team completed courses such as Negotiation Foundation. Leadership behavior has also improved when managers take courses on coaching and communication. I have also seen higher adoption of digital tools such as Excel and Power BI because employees learn practical skills through short, focused modules.

The best feature is the wide range of courses and the expert-led content. Courses are taught by industry professionals, which is very helpful, along with the certificate of completion and personalized recommendations. It is usually integrated with your LinkedIn profile, so it is always handy.

The platform itself has some excellent features. It has a clean, intuitive interface, and the search and filtering options are nice. You can filter by skill level, duration, and language. There is seamless integration, as it connects with your LinkedIn profile so your learning activity aligns with your professional brand and career goals. The community and question-and-answer features that some courses allow are very helpful, adding a collaborative element.

While LinkedIn Learning is strong overall, there are a few areas where it could improve to make the experience even better. More interactive learning would be beneficial. Adding live sessions or discussion forums for real-time interaction with instructors and peers could make learning more engaging. Currently, all the courses are recorded, and nothing is happening live. There should be something more interesting that could help with better engagement if there were live sessions.

Better customization for organizations would also help. While learning paths exist, more tailored options for specific industries could be beneficial. The content needs to be a bit more localized, with more regional-specific examples and case studies to make courses feel relevant globally. For example, even though I am sitting in the UK and doing a course in the UK, most of the examples are related to the United States or other regions. Different markets have different scenarios and challenges, so it is hard to correlate.

One of the main things LinkedIn Learning could improve is adding live sessions. Currently, everything on LinkedIn Learning is recorded, and nothing is happening live. I think this has an engagement effect. Sometimes when I am doing training or completing a course, the recordings are from 2020 or 2021, which is a bit old. A lot has changed in three to four years. Interactive features such as live question-and-answer sessions, hands-on projects, deeper analytics, and better integration with tools such as Microsoft or project management could make it a ten.

Some of the data needs to be updated more frequently. There are some courses that, for example, in project management or negotiation, which are fields that evolve every day, but a few of the courses are from 2022 or 2021 and have not been updated. More updates are required as time is moving and we are moving toward more artificial intelligence.

I have been using LinkedIn Learning for one year.

I completed Developing Your Emotional Intelligence on LinkedIn Learning, which was very helpful for me. It helped me understand emotional intelligence better. I also completed a Negotiation Professional Certificate on LinkedIn Learning, and that also helped me understand the different ways of negotiating and how I can approach things in a different way.

For example, Negotiation Foundation is a course that covered practical strategies for preparing and conducting negotiations, including how to create value, manage difficult conversations, and reach win-win outcomes. It is especially helpful for roles in procurement or supplier management because it focuses on real-world scenarios and actionable techniques.

I would tell others that LinkedIn Learning is a great tool if you want to learn something. I give this review a rating of nine out of ten.

The usual use case for LinkedIn Learning is when I heavily use it if I have an exam or taking certifications. For example, with CISA, I go through a lot of high-quality material created on the platform, and I can assess and learn from there, preparing for my exam and certifications. That really helps me prepare faster and move on with what I'm doing. One of the best case studies is if I want to learn something fast, such as Microsoft Fabric; I want to understand what it is. I don't want to read a book, I just find the right training there, listen to it, and understand. For people who are very visual myself, I prefer to see things applied in front of me to learn rather than just reading about it. This adds importance because when I see it, I'll never forget it.

I go and repeat these things that I learned and apply them. Within a couple of hours, I understand exactly the new task or process that I'm trying to achieve, and I do it.

LinkedIn Learning's personalized recommendations help me in skill acquisition by informing me about anything similar to what I learned whenever I'm learning something new. I get notifications, and that ecosystem helps me find things faster. I don't want to go every time and search for things, so I start seeing them as they come and are developed, which adds value and saves me so much time as well.

I have been using LinkedIn Learning for more than five years. There is a lot of value in the product because it's accessible, easy to reach wherever you are on your devices, and provides state-of-the-art technology. It is not shallow; it is in-depth material that adds value to whatever you're trying to get on the run. As a professional, especially in cybersecurity, I need a lot of information and skills that I have to adapt and learn fast on other technologies. LinkedIn Learning is a perfect platform to provide me with this immediate quick access. I listen to something, research it for an hour, do all the material, and understand that subject to apply it straight away in my workforce. The value that I add is instant when I use this platform.

The value of interactive quizzes in LinkedIn Learning is great because I can learn in different ways, not just by watching videos. Interactive elements change the game in how the mind comprehends knowledge and education. This is why I see LinkedIn Learning being adopted by many HR departments and universities advising you to have your account there because of that new way of reaching and teaching. It's a lab; I interact with the technology and click on things live. Building labs for active directories and many other elements can be very expensive, but this new way of evolving and interacting in an environment really changes everything. This adds value to how fast I can complete my learning and knowledge.

Real-world project examples in LinkedIn Learning add value by applying that knowledge in certain projects that I'm working on. Working in technology, I'm not masterful with every new technology that I face. For example, as a consultant, sometimes I get consulted on working for Snowflake, which is a platform that exists. As a security professional, I need to understand that platform and that product. This is where LinkedIn Learning adds value in getting my skills up fast to understand what technologies are and how they're used so I can apply my security knowledge on that platform, knowing how it works and everything about it. It builds patterns of layers of what I already know, understand, and my experience, adding to that new learning curve that I just learned from that new product. Now I understand that product and how to secure it. Although LinkedIn Learning didn't teach me how to secure it, it provided other patterns of information for me to understand that product and how I can develop proper controls to mitigate risks in it.

One area that LinkedIn Learning could improve is by adding more variety of training in cybersecurity. I know a lot has been covered, but maybe different subjects with different methods of delivery, including different languages for people who don't understand English, could make it more accessible. I'd be happy as a paying subscriber to pay perhaps a dollar or two extra if these funds go toward helping people from nations who can't afford it, which would add more humanity to the platform.

Adapting the pricing policy to the region where they sell the platform would be beneficial.

I've been using LinkedIn Learning since when it wasn't even called LinkedIn; it was called Lynda, and when LinkedIn bought the product and started to label it under LinkedIn Learning. I have been using it for years.

I've been using LinkedIn Learning for years with stable platform reliability; I've never had any problems, not even a glitch. It is always consistent. Even while on the train, I can download what I need, and everything plays smoothly; therefore, I rate the interface, technology, and platform a full 10 out of 10.

The scalability of LinkedIn Learning is excellent, as it provides levels intermediate, beginner, and advanced. I can set certain goals and start from a specific place. If I'm advanced in a subject, I don't waste time; I hit it straight away. The classification of levels, expertise, and experience is documented and classified within LinkedIn Learning, which is a great feature.

I have never had to communicate with LinkedIn Learning's technical support for any issues. This is a good thing; perhaps they don't need technical support at all because it is always working wonderfully. I have never had to raise any support tickets all these years.

Positive

I was using LinkedIn Learning way before others, and I added other platforms as my demand for new publications grew. I see different horses for courses, but LinkedIn Learning stands alone in what it does. I haven't seen anyone provide the same quality material as LinkedIn Learning or be as innovative in their approaches. Many people are trying to sell similar products, but none match LinkedIn Learning's consistency.

I always see a return on investment with LinkedIn Learning because, as a professional person in the market, I must develop myself continually. Personal development is something I have to work on year in, year out. Every year, I set goals for enhancing my skills, education, and everything I do. This is where the value of LinkedIn Learning comes in; it's a gym membership. If I don't go to the gym, my muscles get weak. The same principle applies to LinkedIn Learning; without it, my training, knowledge, and skills diminish because we all forget if we don't continue to immerse ourselves in learning new things.

It is an ongoing process, and that's how I derive value. The value lies in continuously learning new things, akin to a gym membership for my brain.

I also use O'Reilly alongside LinkedIn Learning. I think O'Reilly is number one in education, but each has its own strengths. I can't rely on one only; I need to use both. O'Reilly is more about books and publishing, with some authors being very prolific, so I need to read their new material and research. LinkedIn Learning offers a different aspect to how I learn and train. I can repeat the lab a few times and do more practical activities with LinkedIn Learning, which is a very different thing. If someone is serious about staying at the edge and educating themselves, I advise them to have both.

I engage with LinkedIn Learning depending on my workload. I tend to use it during my daily train trip to and from work, but it's sometimes inconsistent. My engagement happens whenever I have time; any free time is given to educational things, and LinkedIn Learning is one of the things I have on my phone and tablet, which makes it very accessible and practical to use during that time.

The value of LinkedIn Learning's course updates is that they have a very fast track of updating their courses and material. What I love most about them is that whenever there's a new certification that has been updated, within a few weeks, the course for that certification is updated with new material covering the new things I need to know. The good thing is that old courses just add an extra hour or so that teaches me those updates. If I already did this course, I can just see the new things that have been updated and added without wasting all my time going through that course again; I just observe that one hour to see the new additions.

I rate LinkedIn Learning a 9 out of 10.

I usually use LinkedIn Learning to train myself and to upgrade skills, especially in different areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, finance, and every subject which is important for leadership or corporate strategy. It's very effective. I appreciate the availability of pathways. These paths are very interesting because they highlight and encompass many skills and courses, and the path can last 20 hours or more. It allows me to learn more and stay focused. I did that for finance, I'm doing that for AI now, and it's very interesting. I think having more pathways inside is better, as opposed to having simple courses. It's better to have a certification path, meaning having maybe 10 courses or 11 courses lasting a certain number of hours. I think it's better than just having one course.

I appreciate the capabilities of LinkedIn Learning, particularly the coding possibilities. Even if someone is not good at coding, LinkedIn Learning shows how to accomplish tasks. The materials being proposed are very interesting, and the way things are being explained is interesting too. I have 64 items in my learning history.

The Digital Transformation for Tech Leaders learning path lasts 20 hours, with 15 items for beginners, and it has been updated in August 2025. The learning path lasting 20 hours is very good, with 31,000 people participating. I think LinkedIn Learning should focus on learning paths because they attract many people. When there is a learning path, it's better than just having one course because it allows exploring a topic with many details.

I have tracked improvement in skills. It has been a long time since I focused on finance courses, but I did the finance learning path, and it was very good. I'm using it now when I have to make proposals or talk about finance topics. It gives me the knowledge and confidence I need to address certain topics in which I was feeling uncomfortable. With LinkedIn Learning, I can learn anything, as long as it is part of the portfolio. It's very interesting and really helping.

I think the interactive quizzes in LinkedIn Learning are a little bit weak. While they help from a comprehension perspective, they should be developed more to highlight complex problem-solving issues, which would be very helpful.

I have been working with LinkedIn Learning for more than two years.

I find the overall stability and reliability of LinkedIn Learning to be very good. I haven't experienced many issues with the platform.

On a scale of 0 to 10, LinkedIn Learning has been a seven in terms of scalability for me. I rated scalability as seven because one still needs to delve into it to understand the concepts. It requires being very attentive and allowing time because it's time-consuming. One needs to focus on what is being said, understand it, and make sure to extract the best out of it.

My initial setup process was very easy. When someone has a LinkedIn account, they can immediately start using LinkedIn Learning. It's simply about looking for a course, finding the course, and starting. As long as someone has an account, they can start learning very easily with LinkedIn Learning.

The pricing of LinkedIn Learning is approximately $50 per month, which is reasonable. I consider it an affordable solution.

I did not evaluate other options or vendors before choosing LinkedIn Learning as my learning platform. I was already on LinkedIn, therefore it was easy for me to switch. There are many other vendors available, but the price might be a little bit hefty.

I would assess the impact of real-world project examples on my learning experience as an eight because what I'm learning, I can apply.

I have experienced benefits from LinkedIn Learning's course updates in keeping up with industry trends, as it allows me to learn many interesting things that can add value with respect to different kinds of issues encountered in society. For instance, AI is well explained. I have many learning paths related to AI, and it demystifies that part of AI. If I don't understand something or haven't heard about it, going there, listening, and learning gives me the confidence and knowledge I need to address topics related to AI, machine learning, and any other topic. I rate LinkedIn Learning an 8 out of 10.

I have used LinkedIn Learning and Skillsoft from a training standpoint, and it is not like Signavio where I have worked on the module directly. I am an end user who uses LinkedIn Learning to learn. I do not know how it works in the back end.

Since the start of my career, it has been five to five and a half good years since I have been on LinkedIn Learning. Whenever I need a major career switch, that is when I upgrade to my premium and then pursue certifications instead of doing it the other way around. The materials are available to learn, but whenever I need a certification to apply for a role that is designated, I take the premium to get the certifications.

Whenever I have to upskill, I come from a consultancy background, and right now I am working on bank migration, but I come from Process Excellence. We constantly have continuous improvement methodologies that we have to revise time and again, though we implement them on projects. My initial use cases were to understand how Green Belt, Black Belt, and starting from Yellow Belt onwards, how projects are viewed and what the approach is. Those were my major use cases. But as I went up the career ladder, now I work in the manager group, and a couple of years ago, when I wanted to make the switch over to managerial, I wanted to understand what it is from a data standpoint and decision-making standpoint that people look at data. My whole aspect of learning using LinkedIn Learning from a theoretical standpoint has pivoted in terms of understanding how decisions are made using data or what presentations need to look like, ensuring they are not just cluttered with many details. Of course, now it is all about AI as well, and I look into what AI can do in Process Excellence. My current use case for LinkedIn Learning is to stay relevant so that I have my job secured for a long time moving forward.

The most valuable features of LinkedIn Learning so far are the suggestions that come up. Whenever I try to access a couple of courses, I go to the search bar and type a couple of names, and the next time I get a curated list on what I could possibly do. What I majorly appreciate is that if I am aiming for a role, I can enter that role and receive suggested courses that align with where I want to go. Whenever I complete a learning, I am able to have that certificate directly integrated with my profile, without much background work. These are small aspects, but they help tailor the profile better. With AI coming into the picture, the whole recommendation structure has changed majorly, helping simulate recommendations. It checks if I have the prerequisites, and when I open up a course, there is a pop-up in the header that suggests maybe I should have completed another course before this one. As someone who leans towards a structured form of learning, I find LinkedIn Learning to be a good option.

The interactive quizzes in LinkedIn Learning have helped me reinforce my learning outcomes significantly. The questions are not straightforward from what I learned immediately; they are curated to check whether I have truly understood the material from a fundamental standpoint. The quizzes do not just mirror what was presented in the video, so I have to take time to understand the content. A good feature is when I answer incorrectly, a reasoning appears underneath to help me understand the mistake, and the platform recommends which part of the video I should revisit to get it right next time. This approach is quite beneficial.

The impact of real-world project examples on my learning experience is significant. For instance, taking into consideration a design thinking project that I was working on a year ago, it was predominantly about how we look at customers and how accountability could be measured. Accountability is something that is very intangible and cannot be easily measured, and as the saying goes, if it cannot be measured, it cannot be improved. Design thinking was one approach I picked up, and I was a newbie at that time; I did not even know the basics of design thinking. When I took the course on LinkedIn Learning, it offered not just academic insights but also examples that helped me raise focus group discussions internally, leading to workshops that provided a practical approach. Even if there are no projects available on LinkedIn Learning, it helps me formulate an approach that is typically lacking.

One area for improvement in LinkedIn Learning revolves around personalized recommendations. This is a personalized suggestion akin to what I proposed for SAP Signavio. For instance, after completing an Excel course, I receive a recommendation involving who the coach is for that specific course. While Excel is a common and generic tool, I suggest that for industry-specific courses relevant to Process Excellence, LinkedIn Learning should leverage its knowledge of my industry and area of interest to provide recommendations on who I can connect with to enhance my network further. Furthermore, I often see others taking the same course, most from the same industry, but I currently must evaluate each profile individually to determine whether I should connect. Creating a temporary group for participants of the same course or personalized suggestions to connect with others based on similar learning goals could greatly enhance the experience.

Since November 2025, which is about five to six months now, I have been quite inactive. However, until October, when I made my recent career move, I was very active exploring new courses.

LinkedIn Learning has been very stable and reliable for me. There are minimal issues accessing the platform at any given time, which means I do not have trouble recalling where I left off in my courses. Additionally, if I leave something unattended for a long duration, I receive email updates reminding me.

I would evaluate LinkedIn Learning's scalability at a ten out of ten. On a scale of ten, it is genuinely very scalable due to the ease of access and use, particularly the personalization that saves time and adds value. Companies find it extremely beneficial, and I do not believe the licensing costs are prohibitive; otherwise, many would not subscribe. However, maintenance updates might be necessary if it is on-premise, and the cloud solution seems to provide better overall benefits.

I rarely communicate with LinkedIn Learning's technical support and have not encountered any issues. As an end user who utilizes the platform solely for learning and career advancement, I have never felt the need to raise issues with their technical team.

Before using LinkedIn Learning, I was a massive user of MOOCs, specifically the Massive Open Online Courses platform, which featured collaborations among multiple universities. However, it became costly, especially with EdX being my favored platform for a long time. The costs were significant unless I applied for financial assistance by informing them that as a student, I could not afford those prices for courses. I also utilized Swayam, an Indian platform geared towards high school and higher education students, which is more affordable at around two thousand Indian Rupees. EdX was expensive to me, while I would not say LinkedIn Learning is economical, but I find that for the benefits it provides, especially when I aim for a serious upskill or job shift, it is worth the money I spend.

I did evaluate other options such as Coursera for my courses before choosing LinkedIn Learning. I found that Coursera did not offer value relative to the price since you would receive a certificate regardless of your performance, which was not highly regarded in the market because many people were participating. I have never been a fan of Udemy, and while MOOCs were a great platform, they had their issues. LinkedIn Learning always seemed to fit my needs better since my professional profile resides there, allowing me to receive job suggestions and evaluations as I complete courses. The AI suggests job suitability based on my certifications, saving me additional research time to determine if the course aligns with available positions, making my learning journey more efficient.

The benefits I experience from LinkedIn Learning's course updates in keeping up with industry trends are substantial. The AI-powered customization and personalization that have come up help me keep my basics strong so far. I have been able to continue in Process Excellence for a long time. I started my career in that field and despite moving across industries, from oil and gas for five years to investments and now core banking, the core part of it is still process-related. LinkedIn Learning has helped me understand the commonalities from a framework standpoint, regardless of the differences in products and services offered by different organizations. From a career standpoint, it has definitely helped me move up the ladder. I did not have to spend much money on certifications, and I could learn at my own pace since all the courses are self-paced. Completing my learning targets brings a gratifying feel-good factor, keeping me motivated. Thus, LinkedIn Learning has helped me maintain a grasp of the fundamentals, whether technology changes or AI emerges.

I engage with LinkedIn Learning regularly, and I have tracked improvements in my skills over time. Data analytics has been trending recently, and AI is coupled with that terminology everywhere. I did not want to just follow the current trend; I sought to understand what companies are building. It is not just about implementing AI but doing so while keeping a keen check on processes. The small, bite-sized videos suggested on my profile, often as I search for keywords, have been useful. Each video is typically only a minute or two long, which helps me consume content in shorter time frames. While I would not say it keeps me relevant, it keeps me informed about upcoming topics, enabling me to know what I need to revisit and allowing me to save key learning activities in my library.

I am aware of the pricing and licensing of LinkedIn Learning as an individual customer. I know I need to spend around two thousand Indian Rupees per month to avail myself of a three-month course when discounts are available; otherwise, it is a monthly subscription. There are industries that may purchase an entire year's access to all the available content on LinkedIn Learning. For example, Fidelity International provided all employees access to the entire LinkedIn Learning library, making it limitless for all employees. While that is good, not all industries can afford such extensive access to the library.

I cannot comment on LinkedIn Learning's affordability in comparison to industry prices, as I am not privy to what other L&D tools charge on the market. However, I can say that in comparison to other platforms such as Udemy or Coursera, LinkedIn Learning seems to offer more value because my professional profile is already there. There is greater visibility and awareness regarding steps I need to take, which might sometimes be lacking on other platforms due to their selective course offerings. LinkedIn Learning's recommendations are more beneficial since they align with my existing professional profile.

I am not entirely sure how LinkedIn Learning is deployed in my current company, but I recall that Fidelity International had it on the cloud. I believe they obtained it directly from LinkedIn without storing it on any data lakes.

I think I might be misinformed about LinkedIn Learning being on-premises in my current company. I previously assumed they had subscribed to the entire library of courses available on LinkedIn Learning, which led me to think it was on the cloud.

I have used some documentation and guides for LinkedIn Learning courses. Every time I take up a course, there are downloadable datasets and practice worksheets related to the course material, which have been helpful. For example, when I did the design thinking course, there were short notes made available by the author for additional access. These materials help me practice hands-on, further reinforcing my learning.

I would rate this review a ten out of ten.

I use it for a variety of purposes. More recently, I use it to benefit my personal knowledge of a hobby, specifically photography. I've taken at least 15 different sessions that were offered either specific to my camera or general about photography. I've also done it for some soft skills, leadership soft skills such as dealing with empathy or taking risks. There are tons of different materials, and I frequently recommend it to people I work with.

Those are the ones that come to mind, but I've certainly used it for a number of things. Just about any topic that comes to mind that I don't know would be one of the places I would go to see if they have a class or a session on that or any information that I can reuse for my own learning.

What I liked the most about it is that the quality varies and obviously depends upon the content and the presenter themselves. I appreciate that they meet me where I am in terms of pace. In some cases, I'm an expert in certain topics, having led large teams of 2,000 plus people all over the world. But there are certain topics that are new to me, so I can search and go right into that topic without having them treat me as if I'm new in the industry.

In photography, for example, I started going through general photography sessions and then realized that I needed more help with my specific camera; they had a complete module on it. I was blown away that the individual provided recommendations for different materials and resources, which I thought was super helpful. That alone justified the professional edition module of LinkedIn Learning.

The user interface of LinkedIn Learning platform is great and the visuals are of phenomenal quality. They are professionally done, and I find it very rich. The courses I have gone through, including a photography class that had many sections, allow users to stop, record, save, and return later, which is really powerful.

I think they can improve the platform in two ways. It is overwhelming the amount of information and learning they have, and as I mentioned, the quality can vary. I wonder if they can leverage AI to study the user, to analyze my activity. For example, when I search for photography, they could tell me what the best classes are based on everything I do on LinkedIn and outside of it. Also, they could recommend learning or sessions based on topics I've been reading about when I'm not posting or commenting but just browsing. This would allow it to be pushed to me rather than me having to search for it or accidentally running into it.

I have not contacted any technical support or customer support regarding learning in LinkedIn because I haven't needed to, but LinkedIn is notoriously known for their awful support. This discourages me from using any LinkedIn module to get support.

My experience with their support has been different, primarily when trying to post. For instance, the hashtag option suddenly became unavailable for me while posting, even though friends with the same paid edition could access it. This immensely valuable feature allows users to pick and choose hashtags efficiently, but I couldn't get any troubleshooting assistance through various support channels. Consequently, I decided to stop posting.

Another issue was not knowing why my posts sometimes received significantly fewer views, prompting me to consider paid boosts without any clear explanation from support.

I would rate their support a one out of ten. I definitely wouldn't use it unless someone tells me it's vastly improved. I often deal with human support at companies such as Amazon or American Express, which raises the bar on customer service. They allow users to engage with human agents after attempting to resolve issues through AI support, ensuring that problems are solved efficiently.

Negative

I have used similar platforms; a lot of companies have their own. For instance, when I left Amazon or worked at Microsoft, they had a ton of that available. Externally, different platforms have specific services; for example, I just joined a Global Mentoring Initiative, which is a mentoring platform for early-career professionals and students worldwide. They have their own set of services, but it's limited to mentoring. YouTube has a ton of content, but the quality management is not as good as LinkedIn Learning. Finding relevant material on YouTube is significantly harder, and with TED talks, you often waste time determining if the content matches what you need.

The pricing of LinkedIn Learning certainly is a barrier to entry because I know people that I mentor who are in between jobs and cannot afford it, often relying on their employer to pay for it. For me, I have an advantage as a former Microsoft employee, getting a discount through a Microsoft alumni program. Would I pay without the discount? Probably, but if my situation changes since I'm semi-retired and spend only 20% of my time in a non-retired role, I might reconsider paying for the professional edition.

I've had really positive experiences with different folks at LinkedIn who reached out for various sessions or via email. I view the support as very different; my overall experience with LinkedIn is positive outside of support.

My primary use of LinkedIn Learning is to improve my technical skills and stay up to date with industry trends by acquiring knowledge on particular technologies that I am not aware of, and then I contribute my skills to the projects. I take courses on Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Apache Kafka, system design, SQL, and cloud technologies to enhance my backend development skills.

I usually choose courses based on my current projects' requirements, career goals, and the technology I want to strengthen. First, I open LinkedIn, and there I access the LinkedIn Learning area, where they provide the option to search for a particular course and select it. For example, when I was working on microservices, I took courses on Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and RESTful API designs to better understand event-driven architecture, reinforcing best practices for designing scalable APIs, exception handling, security, and testing, which I was able to apply directly in my projects.

Based on my project requirement, I choose the courses. If I am working on a microservices project and I am not aware of Apache Kafka, I will select that course on LinkedIn Learning by using the search button. Once I find that course, I will select it and click on the Start Learning button to enroll and start learning that course.

The best features of LinkedIn Learning include enhancement videos, which are unique, and its extensive library of high-quality courses taught by industry experts covering technical skills in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, cloud, and system design, as well as soft skills. Part of their annual review and their education growth was to have them select a couple of tracks, and they would have to complete that as part of their education.

The benefits I have experienced with the course updates from LinkedIn Learning in keeping up with industry trends are pretty good. I go through courses while I'm on my elliptical, turn on courses I find interesting, and continue with them the next day. There were some specific courses where I wanted to find out more about certain tools, so I went through those. I primarily use it while I'm in the gym.

When I'm in the gym, I use it on the phone with the native app. When I want to finish something or when there is more technical content, I watch it through the browser on my computer.

It simply works effectively. There are quite a few courses on different subjects. I could compare it with Udemy - it works pretty much the same. I wouldn't say it's better or worse.

I'm just going through courses and finding topics I want to learn about. I saw that there are personalized features, but I haven't needed them.

I only complete quizzes that are required to complete the course or section. The quality of quizzes is mixed - sometimes they are good, sometimes the questions seem inappropriate. In general, they work adequately.

I haven't engaged in a month because I wasn't in the gym. When I was going to the gym, I would use it every business day, as weekends are difficult with children around. So I would say I use it quite regularly.

It would be very useful to have an app for Smart TVs, specifically Samsung and LG. I currently have an LG TV. These are the two most popular Smart TV platforms. Having a LinkedIn Learning app on my Smart TV instead of having to Chromecast it would be amazing. When I Chromecast, I cannot increase the speed, and I usually listen at a faster speed because the instructors talk very slowly. A dedicated native app for Smart TV platforms, namely LG's WebOS platform and Samsung's Tizen, would be beneficial.

They could be more proactive with content-wise development by working with top Udemy course providers. For certain things, I go to Udemy and pay for courses separately because I cannot find such courses on LinkedIn Learning. These are typically tech-specific courses related to JavaScript or the latest web-based technology. They could engage popular Udemy course creators and bring them to their platform. This would save money since LinkedIn Premium is quite expensive at €55 a month.

I'm not sure if LinkedIn Learning is available as a separate product. I tell everyone to subscribe to Udemy subscription because you get a lot of content for approximately 12 dollars a month for Udemy premium, whereas LinkedIn Premium costs €55. With Udemy's personal plan, you can access 26,000 courses for 12 dollars a month. That is an amazing price compared to LinkedIn Premium, which is very expensive in comparison.

For most things, I was filling knowledge gaps I thought I had or learning about topics while at the gym. I wouldn't say it has had a big impact.

I don't look at updates actively. I haven't realized when new content in marketing or Six Sigma appears. I'm not learning about the latest developments from LinkedIn Learning. Regarding AI, I did take a few Microsoft courses, but I haven't been re-watching those courses to see whether something is updated.

I get foundational information that can go in depth, but for the latest developments, I inform myself through other means newsletters or news websites. I keep up with news on a daily basis anyway. It's mostly to get foundation knowledge, even though that foundation isn't limited to just basics.

I use LinkedIn Learning to refer clients to courses. For example, specifically, my area of expertise is leadership and management training. I might find a client and say, 'This would be a good course for you to take about this.' I take independent courses and then suggest them to clients or individuals and companies as ways of filling their training portfolio or creating a learning track.

LinkedIn Learning can be used for an individual who is struggling, for instance. It can be used when I have two or three people for succession planning or pre-promotion planning, and I want to add some courses into my plan to determine who the best person is for the next promotion. One of the things I love about LinkedIn Learning and how I use it with clients is the flexibility of how to customize the recommendations so clients can get the most learning. If I cannot do a workshop, I would highly recommend a learning segment from LinkedIn Learning.

I just came back from California and filmed two courses related to LinkedIn Learning, the virtual training, e-learning platform that they have.

Since its inception, LinkedIn Learning bought Lynda, which was the prior solution provider, really just a husband and wife that started way long time ago when they were just doing tech solutions, tech training. Then LinkedIn Learning bought them, and they branched out beyond tech into soft skills.

It is funny you ask that because that is exactly what they are starting to do now. One of my complaints has been that sometimes the courses felt staid and rigid, and it is only one format. LinkedIn Learning does something called live action where the instructor stands in front of the camera with a teleprompter and then they talk the course. They do have some graphics, assessments, and downloadable handouts, but for the most part, that is what it consists of, which can be boring regardless of how good the instructor is.

This week, LinkedIn Learning has started to mix up their filming types. When I was in California last week, we did some live action with scripted content on teleprompter, but also Q&A interviews via podcast, and riffing where I would be asked a question and then talk from my heart about an issue or a client story, which is much more real and relatable. Some of the courses feel overly scripted versus more conversational.

They are trying to do more handouts and downloads to have more takeaways in text, and they are focusing on making content action-oriented. The learner is getting challenged to take action to make the course real and measurable. For example, one of my courses is on how to develop future leaders, and the whole course focuses on creating challenges that people can do in real time. That is the value they are really starting to bring more and more in their new courses.

I would give the solution an eight out of ten. It is not a perfect ten because I think engaging the authors more in real time would be an advantage. While I have gotten emails from all over the world for my courses and have interacted and done coaching sessions with folks from my courses, this interaction is not naturally built in. If someone has a question from the course, it comes to me and I can answer it. If they built in follow-ups where it was built into the course to meet and interact with the course instructor in real time, that would give it a ten.

I would rate it about an eight. I think it could be better at responsiveness, but overall, it is good.

The courses are not difficult to set up, but LinkedIn Learning wants to be professional. There is a whole team involved. People would be shocked at the amount of energy and effort and people that go into creating one course. I was there for four days doing two courses, and I had a producer, a director, and a script assistant. That is just the front end, not counting all the people that do the editing on the back end. These courses are highly professionally done. For example, my director has been a producer and director on shows for Discovery, HGTV, and American Idol. These are highly professional folks working on these courses.

I am compensated for my courses.

I think the pricing is good. If a client is not going to pay me directly, which is costly, it is reasonable because an individual can develop professionally out of their own pocket. It can be a nice addition to a portfolio of training for a company for a very reasonable price.

I am a LinkedIn Learning author, which means I can be unbiased about it. There are certain things I do and do not prefer, but I want to make sure that folks know I am not an independent user.

I have contacted support regarding these courses from LinkedIn Learning, sometimes on behalf of folks that have taken my course. They had difficulties downloading handouts or accessing materials that were supposed to be complimentary to the course. There is a customer service component to lead people to the right link so they can download the appropriate materials.

I am actually not anymore an end-user or customer of LinkedIn Learning because I don't have that much time to put on this, but I update myself and just check the platform now and then to see if anything interesting comes up.

The most valuable feature of LinkedIn Learning is that it's a platform directing everyone with different expertise, so to make a platform that really can work for different people of different expertise to direct specific users is something I always appreciate about LinkedIn Learning. I think that's a huge amount of job to do something despite this variation in expertise for that amount of users, and they still can reach the need for specific users.

When I open it, based on my own expertise, field, and interest, I have courses related to me popped up, including those that can be related to my job applications at the time I was searching for a position. They were very useful for the interviews and getting into the market, although there were some points that I didn't agree with. The reality in the market is that it's saturated, so you need to really find your position in this rippled market of applicants for any job.

I used general courses related to being successful in interviews and some data science courses, which is my field as a PhD in data science, to familiarize myself with the nuances and connectivities between different platforms in the market.

I found that the impact of real-world project examples on my learning experience is essential because the courses I took from LinkedIn Learning were completely adjusted to real-world problems. The reason I got these courses was to familiarize myself with the real-world problems, understand the needs and demands, and find out how I can represent myself with my expertise. If the courses did not address real-world problems or those that are trending in the market, I wouldn't take them.

I don't like how the interactive quizzes in LinkedIn Learning are structured because many courses require you to pass the quizzes to move to the next one. It should be more flexible, allowing users to shuffle between courses. Users should not need to complete quizzes from previous courses to access standalone content. As someone with different levels of expertise, I feel it should be more democratic and give users the choice to define the order of their learning.

It would benefit LinkedIn Learning to offer discounts for these countries, as there are many educated people in fields like data science who would seek opportunities if they had access.

I don't really track any improvement in my skills since working with LinkedIn Learning because it's where you are not completely certain of your position. When you have a completely specified field, you know where to get more information and courses, but when you're uncertain about your future job, LinkedIn Learning can help a lot.

It works for those in Europe where job positions are planned, and for those wanting to start a new direction or company where they need education in unfamiliar fields, such as when I want more information about system development.

I switch to LinkedIn Learning because it offers courses that are specific enough without being too general. For my field in data science, it offers various courses in Azure and different data platforms. While I don't expect it to go deep, it still manages to offer specialized content.
