|---|---|---|
| President at Transaction Security, Inc | 4.0 | I find Norton 360 provides confidence with virus protection and online backup, plus Identity Safe for passwords. However, I'm frustrated by the limited free storage and recurring Chrome toolbar issues after frequent updates. |
| Director of IT at a tech company with 51-200 employees | 3.0 | I find Norton 6.0 offers valuable features like backup and security, but its aggressive marketing and significant slowdown of my PC due to high memory usage are major drawbacks. |
| Developer at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees | 5.0 | I found this review highlights Norton 360 as an easy, all-in-one solution for three PCs, with power saving. Critically, it mentions limited 32-bit browser support and password manager lockout upon subscription expiration. |
| Manager of Data Center at a insurance company with 51-200 employees | 5.0 | I found Norton 360 impressed me with its strong threat detection, comprehensive protection, and user-friendly features, even scanning social media. However, I noticed it is still quite heavy, wishing for less impact on PC speed. |
It provides confidence by ensuring software programs are virus free and file integrity through an online backup. Identity Safe offers better password management capabilities.
- Inclusion of file backup and PC maintenance capabilities.
- Effective protection from online threats.
- Automatic backup protects your important stuff from loss.
- Norton is also notorious for their aggressive marketing tactics such as forcing people into renewing their protection by making your scans all of a sudden report infections and false positives.
- Norton is not as good as they claim it will slow your RAM and CPU.
- Norton uses an enormous amount of memory on your computer and slows the computer down unnecessarily.
I use Norton's latest security suite version 6.0. It was released on February 15, 2012. It adds some new features to this popular all-in-one suite including parental controls and better protection and performance. It enhanced local and secure online backups. My company’s laptop and netbook users can now save battery and data charges with Power Saving and Metered Broadband modes, and it easily remembers login and other personal info while protecting against online identity theft.
1. It provides all-in-one service, like it is marketed.
2. Installation is very easy.
3. You can protect three computers using one subscription.
4. Laptop users can save battery from the power saving option.
1. Browser Support for Phishing Protection, Safe Search, Password Management, and Vulnerability Protection is only for 32 bit.2. Expiration of the subscription shuts down all the features. It even locks internet password database of the password manager, so users can not log onto databases which they created for their own computer.
Norton 360 is a real all around application. It provides features like antivirus, a personal firewall, a phishing protection program, and a backup program. Since this program has these features you do not need to use many programs for antivirus, firewall, and backup. When you buy a one-year subscription, it is valid for three computers. It is an extra advantage.
In their latest version, they have developed it further, like power saving. So as a laptop user, I benefit greatly.
1. Norton is still a leader in threat detection and removal.
2. It is easy to install and user friendly.
3. It provides all round protection – protection from Virus and Trojan threats, and protection from system crashes.
4. With the Norton 360 bootable CD, data recovery is simple.
5. It provides mobile parental controls.
Norton 360 is still heavy. I wouldn’t like to notice any difference in terms of PC speed between other Norton products, like Norton Internet Security and Norton 360.
Norton 360, commonly referred to as all-in-one bundle, combines both total data protection against threats and a backup facility. I deployed Norton 360 version 6.0, and was impressed with its capabilities. Norton 360 was able to detect and differentiate between trusted and untrusted sites, preventing me from visiting sites that could be harmful to my PC. It also scans the feeds from social network sites, such as Facebook. Norton 360 will block infected external drives, ensuring that your system is not infected.
The good news is that Norton 360 includes automatic data encryption during the backup process, making sure your recovery image is secure. The recovery bootable CD can be used to scan and clean infected systems. Norton also generously provides free 25G online backup.
