Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ease of connecting to remote computers. • "TeamViewer can improve connectivity. I had some problems connecting to my clients and now I use AnyDesk."

What is our primary use case?

TeamViewer is used to access computers remotely. I used it to fix computers if customers have technical issues. For example, if software or printers are not working correctly. Additionally, I can give demonstrations to customers on how to operate any application.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ease of connecting to remote computers. I do not need a lot of information about their computers to connect, a nontechnical person can give me the information needed for me to connect. Additionally, the solution does not gather other system information about the host or client's systems as other solutions might, such as AnyDesk.

What needs improvement?

TeamViewer can improve connectivity. I had some problems connecting to my clients and now I use AnyDesk.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using TeamViewer for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

TeamViewer is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of TeamViewer is good. However, I now use AnyDesk because I had a difficult time connecting to my clients.

I am the only one using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have not used the support from TeamViewer.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used the Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop application, but it's complicated to use. The setup and configuration of the solution are difficult, you need the client to have some technical knowledge to be able to use it. TeamViewer was better.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of TeamViewer is easy, but there are some complicated settings that could be made easier. It is easy to download and I can share the link with a client to download and install it. Once installed, they only need to give me the ID and password to their TeamViewer and then I can connect.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is no license needed to use TeamViewer.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate TeamViewer a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great for remote access and communication with good reliability
Pros and Cons
  • "It is quite simple to set up."
  • "Voice communication and screen communication or face-to-face communication could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

TeamViewer allows the capture of the screens of the colleagues on the network.

For example, when the user works with his screen for a process and encounters a problem, he informs us or reaches out on WhatsApp. We get control of his screen and try to understand the problem and then try to solve the problem.

What is most valuable?

Without going to the actual user or colleague, I can access his screen. This is the value of the solution for me.

It is quite simple to set up.

It is stable.

What needs improvement?

Voice communication and screen communication or face-to-face communication could be improved. The screen should be something like Zoom when I want to talk with my counterpart. I want to communicate with my counterpart while also seeing the screen.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 13 licenses. For the time being, the solution is fine and we do not plan to increase usage.

How are customer service and support?

I've never used technical support from TeamViewer.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Sometimes we use AnyDesk. However, it gets disconnected suddenly. TeamViewer is very good. It doesn't happen.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is easy to set up and quick to deploy. You can have it up and running in one day.

We have three to five people in the IT department that can handle deployment and maintenance tasks. They are IT technicians.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't handle the licensing. I can't speak to the costs. However, my understanding is that it is reasonably priced.

What other advice do I have?

I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using.

I'd rate the product nine out of ten.

I would recommend the solution to others.

Good user interface, simple installation, and has a free version available
Pros and Cons
  • "From my perspective, the most important is the login."
  • "I would like to see something like a TeamViewer mobile application for iOS or possibly Android. I think this would be fantastic given how technology is evolving today. It would be beneficial to use it with your smartphone."

What is our primary use case?

Most of the time, I use TeamViewer. There was some remote work to be done at the time.

We use TeamViewer for remote access. The login uses a key to gain remote control of someone else's desktop.

What is most valuable?

From my perspective, the most important is the login. That's the most important because you need that key, and everything else.

In my opinion, the user interface is good.

What needs improvement?

When the application is minimized I often close it in error.

When the application is minimized, I frequently close it by accident, but I'm not sure why; perhaps there is a way to improve the stability of TeamViewer with the minimize or close or not to close it accidentally, and then you must reconnect, and so on.

Unfortunately, I don't know what additional features I would like to see included right now. I only use the main functionality, and it's fine for me the way it is now. I can't think of any new features right now.

I would like to see something like a TeamViewer mobile application for iOS or possibly Android. I think this would be fantastic given how technology is evolving today. It would be beneficial to use it with your smartphone.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with TeamViewer for a couple of years. I still use it when it is needed.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are some issues with the stability of TeamViewer.

I would rate the stability a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

TeamViewer is easy to scale. It is a scalable solution.

We have two or three users in my department.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I stopped using SmartBear, and TestComplete Mobile a year ago. That was a requirement at the company where I now work. I am currently assigned to another project and don't use TestComplete.

I am familiar with GitLab, but with limited experience. I don't have much experience with GitLab. I last worked with GitLab six months ago.

I am currently using some companies in specific test tools. We are developing some test tools at the company where I work, and this was one of them. In the past, I used Selenium mostly for web applications and some other dedicated desktop test tools, but that was also in the past.

I worked with SeleniumHQ a few years ago. Now I only work with dedicated test tools.

In this company, I only wrote a few JavaScript tests.

I have used a virtual machine in the past, but that is different from TeamViewer. I don't recall using another solution before TeamViewer.

How was the initial setup?

From my perspective, the setup is simple enough. It is not complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I used the free version of TeamViewer.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it.

I would rate TeamViewer an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Simple to implement, great for remote IT services, and can expand easily
Pros and Cons
  • "The implementation process is simple."
  • "It's pretty limited on the options they have."

What is our primary use case?

Basically, the solution is being used in order for the IT department to assist me in any problem I have with my computer. It’s for them to have remote access.

What is most valuable?

It doesn't take any effort for me to fix something that I can’t. I can just call IT and they can just connect and take over the control of my computer and fix it for me, and that’s it.

The implementation process is simple.

What needs improvement?

It's pretty limited on the options they have. I'm pretty sure they can expand the program a bit and have some more options.

If they, for example, access your computer, I’d like them to be able to diagnose and find any other issues on the computer when they are on there for something else.

The connection and reconnection sometimes lag and can cause problems. They need to look into that. If they can work on the pause button to make it easier to start and stop without lagging, it would be ideal.

For how long have I used the solution?

I’ve been using the solution for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

When we actually pause the connection for a little bit, then we have some problems reconnecting or taking control again. The stability is a bit of an issue.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability has been okay. We haven’t seen any issues there.

We have 200 people using the solution right now.

How are customer service and support?

I’ve never dealt with technical support in the past. I can’t speak to how they would be if someone needs help.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward. It’s not overly complex or difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution may be free to use. However, I’m not 100% sure on this.

What other advice do I have?

I am a customer and end-user.

I’m not 100% sure which version of the solution we’re on.

The solution is mostly on-premises. However, we do use it on the cloud as well.

I’d advise users to go for it and try it out. It saves time for IT, allowing them to remote in from wherever they are. They don’t have to come to you. It makes troubleshooting simple.

I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Simple remote access, logins easy to manage, and reliable
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ability for administrators to lock the remote systems, simple connections, and easy login access."
  • "TeamViewer could improve by having a cloud version. Having the solution on the system could cause some cyber security concerns with data."

What is our primary use case?

TeamViewer allows administrators to access computers remotely.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ability for administrators to lock the remote systems, simple connections, and easy login access.

What needs improvement?

TeamViewer could improve by having a cloud version. Having the solution on the system could cause some cyber security concerns with data.

In a feature update, if there was a bios install option it would be helpful. This feature would allow TeamViewer to connect in the background to the internet and then we can switch on the computer, which would be very helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using TeamViewer for approximately 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

TeamViewer is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability of TeamViewer a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I did not use the support from TeamViewer.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used previously Microsoft Quick Assist, and it was very fast and has high availability. I preferred it to TeamViewer because you don't need to download anything separately, it comes with Microsoft Windows, you can access it quickly, and it's encrypted so you can easily access those without having security concerns.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of TeamViewer is straightforward and basic.

What other advice do I have?

TeamViewer has the base option for remote access in the market.

I rate TeamViewer an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Highly stable, easy to access, and plenty of documentation
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of I use TeamViewer are the ease of access and frequent updates."
  • "The file transfer functionality crashes sometimes."

What is our primary use case?

I use TeamViewer for technical support remotely.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of I use TeamViewer are the ease of access and frequent updates.

What needs improvement?

In a future release of TeamViewer, they should improve password access. Every time one of my clients access the free version of TeamViewer, the password changes and they cannot update the password. Even if the solution is provided for free, it should allow them to update or set the fixed password because it is very difficult to type the complicated password.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using TeamViewer for approximately three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

TeamViewer is highly stable.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted the support, I have not had any issue needing the support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use VMware Workspace ONE in parallel with TeamViewer.

How was the initial setup?

The implementation of TeamViewer is simple. In terms of the configuration for the server, the IT team does it. I only need to install the client, which is very simple, but I don't know much about the backend configuration.

What about the implementation team?

Usually out client does the configuration of TeamViewer on the backend.

For 100 TeamViewer users, we would need a team of 10 to manage the maintenance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

After trying free version, you can buy proper license.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated VMware Workspace ONE before choosing TeamViewer. However, our company uses both for different purposes. We use VMware Workspace ONE for accessing company assets and we use TeamViewer to support some clients in some projects.

What other advice do I have?

I rate TeamViewer a nine out of ten.

Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
