Provides centralized management features and an effective queue system
Pros and Cons
  • "The most beneficial feature is the queue system, which allows robots to process a large volume of data simultaneously."
  • "The solution's deployment and architecture aspects could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use UiPath Orchestrator to manage various automation processes and optimize resources. It helps handle high volumes of data by distributing work among robots to complete tasks efficiently.

What is most valuable?

The most beneficial feature is the queue system, which allows robots to process a large volume of data simultaneously.

What needs improvement?

The solution's deployment and architecture aspects could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with UiPath for almost four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the platform's stability a nine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Currently, six people in my department are using UiPath Orchestrator. I rate the scalability a nine out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously worked with Automation Anywhere and Microsoft.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment and installation process is not very simple. It requires understanding the architecture and the environment's requirements. It takes around three hours to complete.

I handle maintenance and troubleshooting, along with two other engineers.

What about the implementation team?

I participated in the installation process and consulted with an IT specialist for security-related aspects.

Helps automate processes and is useful for document understanding and generating reports
Pros and Cons
  • "The reporting features are good."
  • "The tool makes the laptops slow."

What is our primary use case?

We're actively using the solution for document understanding and generating reports. We post the reports on our general SharePoint. We use it for data entry to our ERP system. Other teams in the organization are also using the tool for their needs.

What is most valuable?

The solution helps automate processes. It is quite helpful. The reporting features are good. We can make generic reports of the ERP system. The transportation department uses the product to consolidate all the Excel files of the invoices and bills. We use the document understanding feature very often.

What needs improvement?

Currently, we have some bugs. Some tasks are not auto-run. We need a person to run it. I do not know what the issue is. The users need to have two laptops while running the Orchestrator. The tool makes the laptops slow. So we need to run it on a different laptop.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started using the solution recently.

How was the initial setup?

The tool is easy to deploy. We need a lot of time to learn the tool. It might be easy for the IT team. We spent a lot of time on training, but even after the training, we could not understand how to use the tool. If we have any issues with the integration, we reach out to our IT team. One or two people from the finance team can use the tool well, but it is not our core competency.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is quite expensive. We are trying to minimize the number of licenses and maximize the training.

What other advice do I have?

I use the output of the project that's being automated. We are still learning to use the tool. The only issue we faced was that we had to run the product on a separate laptop. Otherwise, it is good. Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

Offers an excellent scheduling capability that simplifies task automation
Pros and Cons
  • "One standout feature I like in UiPath Orchestrator is the scheduling capability."
  • "One area for improvement in UiPath Orchestrator is enhancing automation for exceptional cases."

What is our primary use case?

What is most valuable?

One standout feature I like in UiPath Orchestrator is the scheduling capability. It simplifies task automation by allowing precise scheduling of processes. Another great advantage is the centralized data collection, which provides a comprehensive view of bot activity across different environments. This centralized logging is crucial for compliance and offers insights into bot performance and error logs.

What needs improvement?

One area for improvement in UiPath Orchestrator is enhancing automation for exceptional cases. Currently, there are scenarios where manual intervention is needed if something unexpected occurs. Having more automation features to handle such situations seamlessly would be beneficial, making the overall infrastructure more efficient and user-friendly.

A few additional functionalities that could make my experience even better would be having the ability to log local keywords and enhance the scheduling function would be great. Additionally, features like bot timers and optimizing password settings within Orchestrator, especially for password changes, would be highly appreciated, simplifying the password management process.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with UiPath Orchestrator for over four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of the product as an eight out of ten. We have not had any major issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, I would rate UiPath Orchestrator at an eight out of ten. The ability to scale up depends on having the correct design, but if done right, it can handle various company sizes—small, medium, or large.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

UiPath Orchestrator compares favorably with solutions like Automation Anywhere's Control Room and Microsoft Power Automate. The reason I find UiPath Orchestrator better is its scalability, comprehensive features, regular addition of new functionalities, and its position as a leader in the RPA space.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup for UiPath Orchestrator has become much simpler with the shift to the cloud. Now, when we purchase a bot, whether attended or unattended, Orchestrator comes along. In the past, installing Orchestrator involved setting up a separate server, configuring a SQL MSSQL database, and ensuring specific requirements were met. However, with the current cloud architecture, these hassles are eliminated, and we only need to log in to the cloud and manage our organization.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I would rate the costliness of the product as a six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

As a user of UiPath Orchestrator, I have experienced the transition from on-premises to cloud-based Orchestrator. The cloud version eliminates the hassle of maintaining separate servers and databases. Now, I don't need to worry about infrastructure, and it is more convenient. However, ensuring the right ports and URLs are open for security can be a consideration.

Overall, I would rate UiPath Orchestrator as a seven out of ten.

A user-friendly and reliable tool that is easy to implement
Pros and Cons
  • "From what I have seen, it is a reliable tool."
  • "UiPath Orchestrator is sometimes a bit clunky, and a few things don't work in the tool as they should."

What is most valuable?

Compared to other orchestrators, UiPath Orchestrator is more user-friendly. UiPath Orchestrator is a product that can be used with a lower level of knowledge. Compared to the orchestrator in Blue Prism, which is usually already integrated with Blue Prism Control Room, everything in UiPath Orchestrator is better categorized. It's easier to find what you want on UiPath Orchestrator. With UiPath Orchestrator, you also have a lot of other functionalities, which is much more than what Blue Prism offers.

What needs improvement?

UiPath Orchestrator is sometimes a bit clunky, and a few things don't work in the tool as they should. For instance, when working with queues and things like that, you may want to do some operations on transaction items, but you won't be able to do so because of the product's UI limitations, which may be frustrating. I think the aforementioned areas are where I have complaints about UiPath Orchestrator.

The product's technical support team is not bad, but I feel there is room for improvement.

With UiPath Orchestrator, my complaint stems from the part of the tool consisting of the interaction with queues, which I think needs to be a little more flexible to be able to manipulate the transaction items as intended with not so many restrictions on cloning, making it easier to create new transaction items, because nowadays, you have to import or clone it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with UiPath Orchestrator for three or four years. My company has a partnership with UiPath.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

From what I have seen, it is a reliable tool. I rate the product's stability a nine out of ten, considering that I have seen some instances of time out and stuff like that, but it's very rare.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the product's technical support team with a lower number since I have seen some delays in response from their end. The support could be a little bit better. The product's documentation also lacks in some areas. I have some experience with on-premises orchestrators, considering which UiPath Orchestrator's support and documentation could be better.

I rate the product's technical support team a seven out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with Blue Prism.

How was the initial setup?

The product is easy to implement.

What other advice do I have?

UiPath Orchestrator is a pretty good tool for orchestration. I don't have any complaints with UiPath Orchestrator since I feel it is a complete solution.

I work in Portugal, and I have seen that some of my company's clients don't have much financial capacity to buy Blue Prism or UiPath, which are standard market solutions. I think UiPath nowadays falls a little bit on the premium side. I would not recommend Blue Prism or UiPath for small-scale customers with little profit margins and small RPA projects with small teams. I think using more low-cost tools like Power Automate and other open-source tools is better.

I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

The product's most valuable features include centralized data management, which eliminates the need for customers to store data internally, and the cloud-based platform that offers significant benefits in terms of speed and efficiency.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used UiPath Orchestrator for three years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product is highly scalable and flexible. Its scalability is ten out of ten, allowing us to expand our automation processes seamlessly.

How are customer service and support?

The support team is very responsive and effective in resolving issues promptly.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

UiPath Orchestrator is more user-friendly, particularly for younger professionals entering the field. While Power Automate is suitable for standalone bots, it must improve in production or long-tail processes. ABBYY, while powerful, requires more expertise for development. UiPath Orchestrator stands out for its comprehensive and accessible platform.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward. It is designed to be user-friendly, allowing individuals to become proficient quickly. The comprehensive community support further simplifies the process.

    What was our ROI?

The platform has positively impacted our ROI by enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our processes. While the initial cost includes licensing and sustainability, the long-term benefits of process accuracy, speed, and management capabilities justify the investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is reasonable and competitive. Depending on the professional services included, the cost can range from approximately $7,000 for a standalone bot managed through the Orchestrator to $100,000.

What other advice do I have?

Centralized management has allowed us to monitor and manage bots efficiently through the platform. Utilizing the platform's API can integrate data into our management system, enhancing our ability to oversee bot operations and ensuring smooth workflow execution.

I highly recommend UiPath Orchestrator. Whenever I have the opportunity, I advocate for its use due to its superior capabilities and user-friendly nature.

I am particularly excited about Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). The platform supports this by integrating features that allow efficient data extraction from images, enhancing our automation capabilities.

    I rate it a ten.
