The solution has been installed on Linux machines.
The solution is issue-free. We are happy with it.
The solution has been stable and reliable.
It is scalable.
My understanding the setup is pretty straightforward and that the onboarding wizard is pretty easy to follow.
I've never had to troubleshoot any issue.
The pricing could be lowered if possible.
I've been working with the solution for the last year.
The solution is stable. It's reliable. There are no bugs or glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze.
It is a scalable product.
We have 30 people using the solution. We do have plans to increase usage in the future.
I haven't had any issues. We've never reached out to support.
We did not previously use a different solution.
I did not install the solution personally. My understanding is that you just use the Wizard to install it.
The deployment happened in just one week.
We did not have any outside assistance with the setup.
We have witnessed an ROI. It is worth the cost.
The licensing is paid yearly. The pricing is okay. I'd rate it eight out of ten in terms of affordability. Of course, it could always be cheaper. There are no extra costs involved when using the solution.
We are using the latest version of the solution.
I'd recommend the solution. It is quick and is a good choice.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

It's helpful for automating your infrastructure.
Overall, it has all the general features we need. The features themselves aren't necessarily unique.
The initial setup is very easy.
It's stable and reliable.
It can scale.
The solution is pretty much the same as what you would use for Windows.
There is a compatibility issue with HCI.
I have a client that uses SAN for HCI and they have an issue where they find it isn't compatible with SAN for HCI. In the future, it would be helpful if it was.
I've used the solution for five to six years.
The solution is stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.
It's reliable.
The solution can scale. If you use a Windows or Linux version, it's the same.
In my previous project, ten or 20 people were using Linux, and therefore, this solution.
There aren't users per se. The solution is on the server itself. We had 20 to 30 nodes.
I haven't used technical support yet, so I cannot comment on the type of technical support they offer.
If we install it in Linux, Mac, or Windows, it's the same. There's no additional something we need to do if we install it in Linux. However, when we install it in Linux, we use the command line. It's simple. We directly discover it from the portal and then click on the portal button, and we directly install it to the client.
It's very straightforward to set up. There isn't really any complexity.
It takes 15 to 20 minutes to install.
The cost depends on the user. If the client wants monthly pricing, they can do it monthly. The agent itself is free for Linux or Windows. If you want to deploy it or centrally manage it, you just purchase the license of Veeam Backup Essentials, and you will have access.
I'd recommend the solution to others. It's a useful product and I like using Veeam. It makes things very easy.
I'd rate the product ten out of ten.
We create backups for SAP HANA servers that run on separate physical systems. For this process, we need Veeam Agent for Linux and Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA. We integrate Veeam Agent for Linux with SAP HANA solution manager to manage the backups.
The most valuable feature of the solution is its integration with Veeam Backup & Replication console. It enables us to manage Veeam Agent. It is quite easy to use if we use the solution directly on the Linux system.
More Linux systems should be made compatible with the solution.
We have a customer who has been using the solution for the past four years.
Sometimes we face issues when Veeam Agent hangs on the Linux system. I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.
The solution is scalable. We can add more agents depending on our customer’s needs. If they need more agents, they can pay for licenses and use them. Three of our customers are using this solution.
The support is pretty fast. Our experience was quite good.
The initial setup is quite straightforward.
The installation and configuration takes about half an hour. To deploy the solution, install Veeam Agent on the Linux system. Then, verify that the installation is correct. Finally, run Veeam Agent and configure the basic backup jobs.
We need one to two engineers to deploy the solution.
We have to pay a license fee for every system we use. We pay for licenses annually. Veeam Agent is one of the cheapest products in the market. I would rate the solution’s pricing a two out of ten. Additional costs depend on the features we want to use.
It is fine if users want to use the product for a general purpose. If they want something with more options, they should choose other solutions. Veeam Agent for Linux has only basic features, and the configuration is not as good as other products.
Veaam can create backups of the virtual environment, physical environment, and Office 365. You can also create backups to the cloud. There are many options.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
If you are using VMware, the Veeam agent simplifies the process by allowing you to submit the vSphere and the vCenter address. It then automatically discovers all virtual components.
If you have physical machines running Windows or Ubuntu, you will need to push an agent out to those servers in order to back up and recover files. The agent provides access and enables the backup process. In some cases, the agent may require a reboot or two to install it properly. However, the process is straightforward and offers numerous options for backing up file systems, drives, or even individual folders.
Veeam agent provides a lot of flexibility in terms of specifying the backup options. Everything is backed up into a snapshot, which can be easily absorbed in VMware. While working with the Veeam agent, I found it very easy to deploy the Linux agent to one of the clients that needs to be backed up.
It is very easy to work with.
You want to ensure that the capability to perform restores is available, and we were able to restore with the Linux agent without any issues.
We used the agent to perform backups that were written directly to tape, bypassing the disk, and we were able to retrieve the data directly from the tape or perform local restores.
The flexibility and user-friendliness of Veeam make it very IT operations-friendly.
With Veeam, end-users can even perform their own recoveries, but we did not have that feature enabled, as all backups and restores were handled by the IT operations team.
There is a constant stream of upgrades being released for Veeam Agent, and there is a strong push toward cloud integration. Overall, my experience with Veeam Agent was very satisfying. While we did encounter some issues, particularly with large servers and backup time frames, there were no problems with the Linux agent itself.
Technical support could be improved.
I deployed a Veeam solution, and that worked out very well. I was working on that before I left. I am not using that application. I am bolstering my base technical skills.
The quality of technical support could be improved, as I experienced a drop in the level of support that I expected. While there was some knowledgeable and helpful support staff, there were instances where they did not fully resolve the issues I encountered.
If I had to rate them, I would give them a seven out of ten.
I am working with Ubuntu Linux and some Python.
My experience with Oracle Linux is limited, I was able to deploy a few servers, including a couple of virtual machines.
The initial setup was straightforward, but as I had been using it for a few years, I became very familiar with the application and could easily navigate it. Setting it up, including the installation and configuring the initial repository, was simpler than any other backup software I had used before.
I would rate Veeam Agent for Linux an eight out of ten.
Currently, my company has some physical machines that cannot be virtualized; this is where Veeam Agent for Linux comes in, so it can unify the machines. Still, in the future, for the virtualization of the machines, my company plans to use only VMware.
What I found most valuable in Veeam Agent for Linux is that it can unify machines and even simplify management.
Veeam Agent for Linux is a temporary product for my company. While my company can't virtualize the machines, it's using Veeam Agent for Linux, but I expect there won't be a need to use it in the future, so I don't focus much on what other features need to be added to it.
One problem in Veeam Agent for Linux is that you can't use your license for all your machines because you don't have a virtual machine, so if you're going to add machines and scale, you'd need to pay extra.
I've been working with Veeam Agent for Linux for two years.
My company didn't have any problems using Veeam Agent for Linux. It's pretty stable.
Veeam Agent for Linux is scalable, but you need to buy additional licenses if you want to scale it.
We didn't contact the technical support team for Veeam Agent for Linux because whenever we've had issues, we refer to the knowledge base and don't have to escalate to support.
I'm unsure if my company used a different solution before Veeam Agent for Linux because when I began working here, this was the solution being used.
Setting up Veeam Agent for Linux was easy.
Veeam Agent for Linux saves time, and it's worth having it for non-virtualized machines, so there's ROI from the solution.
There's the principal license for Veeam Agent for Linux, and then you need to buy additional licenses for your machines.
My company uses Veeam Agent for Linux daily.
The IT team uses Veeam Agent for Linux, and about four or five people manage it, particularly IT managers.
I'd tell others that Veeam Agent for Linux is a good solution. It's stable and can be used for unification, so it's great if you have different types of systems.
I'd give the solution a high rating. It's a nine out of ten for me.

Veeam Agent for Linux backup and recovery.
Veeam Agent for Linux's most valuable feature is the compatibility with virtual machines, such as VMware.
The price of Veeam Agent for Linux could be reduced.
I have been using Veeam Agent for Linux for approximately five years.
Veeam Agent for Linux is highly stable. We not have had any issues.
I have found Veeam Agent for Linux highly scalable.
We have approximately 600 systems using Veeam Agent for Linux. We plan to increase usage.
The support for Veeam Agent for Linux is very good, they respond to queries promptly.
We have used other backup solutions. We have different servers using the other solutions.
The initial setup of Veeam Agent for Linux is straightforward. The full deployment was simple and took approximately one week.
We use a third-party consultant for the implementation of Veeam Agent for Linux.
We have four administrators that do the maintenance and support of the solution.
We have purchased a license to use Veeam Agent for Linux and the additional support. The overall cost of Veeam Agent for Linux is expensive.
I rate Veeam Agent for Linux a seven out of ten.

Veeam Backup automatically takes full image backups, so we don't need an agent installed on a separate system.
I've been using Veeam Agent for more than 10 years.
Veeam Agent for Linux is stable.
Veeam Agent for Linux is scalable.
Veeam has a "next, next, finish" installer, and the overall deployment is straightforward. The deployment is easy because Veeam is compatible with all our VMware services and VMs. Veeam Backup and Veeam ONE are integrated into vCenter or vSphere site deployments, so we don't need to deploy each server one by one.
The Veeam Backup solution or Veeam ONE solution can be deployed through the vCenter management site. The IT team can manage all the VMs and Veeam servers through VMware's management tools. These tools aren't something that the end-users set up or use. It's administered at the system level. We use these tools to manage, deploy, back up or replicate our systems.
I rate Veeam Agent for Linus six out of 10. I recommend it for users of Linux solutions, but it's not common.
You can install it on a physical machine or on a virtual machine. It's used basically the same way a company would use Veeam Agent for Windows - except it has no reporting.
The only use case that I will use it is if you do have Veeam Backup and Replication installed and you have a Linux virtual machine. That is the only place where I will use it since it's the only way for you actually to make successful recoveries.
The only thing I really like about it is that you can deploy it from Backup and Replication onto a virtual Linux machine. Once you start working with the physical Linux machine, it's not compatible, and it doesn't work. Don't even try it.
There's a lot that needs to be changed. I'm not even going to go into the small specifics of it; however, I would say reporting is probably the biggest thing that needs improvement.
It has no cloud backup feature. You can't back up anywhere outside of your local network.
The solution is expensive.
Technical support often has little insight as to what is happening with the product.
It is not really scalable.
I've used the solution for four years.
It's not really very stable. There's no reporting, so you don't even know if the thing is working or not. And, the way I see it, if there's no reporting, there is no backup.
It's not really a scalable product. There is not much you can do with it.
You can't even restore the entire machine. However, if you need it, the other way for you to do that is through Backup and Replication. This solution is very limited.
We were using probably 20 Veeam Linux Agents across a bunch of different districts. We're replacing them.
Unfortunately, when we ask for assistance, often technical support also does not know what is happening.
From my side, I wouldn't even touch the support. I would be more focused on improving my solution. If the solution actually worked and did what it's supposed to do, there wouldn't be necessary for so much need for tech support.
Neutral
In terms of implementation, there are a whole bunch of additional dependencies that you do need to install. Then, once you have those installed, it's pretty straightforward from there. In order for you to do anything there, you need to physically log onto the machine, physically open the app, and physically configure everything yourself.
Initially, once I got past all the dependencies or included the dependencies, it took about half an hour to an hour to set up the solution.
You have to sort out the actual dependencies of the machine first. You have to download a whole bunch of stuff first so the machine doesn't break. After that, you would need to get the installation file to download, and you would use all CLI commands, all Windows command line commands, basically to download the machine. Once you do the installation, then it's going to tell you, hey, wait, you missed some dependencies. You would have to go and install those first. After that, if you run it again and it goes through, you have to try and figure out how to configure it. It can be quite daunting if you've never worked with it before.
The licensing is quite expensive. It's double the price of anything else.
I wouldn't recommend the solution to others. I'd advise potential users to use something else.
Overall, I'd rate the solution three out of ten.
We use this solution for disaster recovery and backups.
We are resellers and customizers.
I like the incremental backups and their failover.
It's very secure, it protects against ransomware.
I have been using this solution for less than a year. It has been for a very short period of time.
It's quite stable.
It's scalable. If you want more licenses, you can just add on to it. It's quite easy.
Technical support is okay. They could be more customer-friendly.
The installation is quite easy.
Price-wise it's good.
You have to pay for licenses at the enterprise level.
They have many different pricing models.
I would recommend this solution to others.
I would rate Veeam Agent for Linux a ten out of ten.
We primarily use the solution to backup our server.
Before we were using Veeam Agent for Linux, we didn't have a backup solution for recovery when our server potentially got damaged. This ensures we have a backup should something go wrong.
The server deployment is easy. It's quite simple to install.
The product is easy to use when you compare it to other products. The solution has proven itself to be very user-friendly.
Veeam Agent for Windows is also very good.
The solution is very stable.
Technical support is pretty good. They are quite helpful when we have queries.
The initial setup and deployment are easy. It's straightforward.
The solution is pretty stable right now, however, we believe that the solution could be made to be even more stable.
We've been using the solution for two or three years at this point. It's been a while.
The solution has been stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable in terms of its performance. We're happy with it in that regard. That said, we hope that in the future, they continue to make the stability even stronger.
The product's function is not meant to be scalable.
We have ten customers on the solution currently.
We do plan to continue to use the product.
We've dealt with technical support in the past and it has been great. We have no complaints. They are very quick to respond. We find them quite helpful. We're quite satisfied with their level of service.
The solution is not overly complex or difficult when it comes to the initial setup. We found it to be relatively straightforward. The deployment process was very easy.
This is a cloud-based solution, and as such, we are always using the latest version of the solution. It is automatically updated as required.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. We've found the product to be very useful and has very good capabilities.
I'd recommend the solution to other organizations.
