My main use case for Lucidchart is that it helps create sequences, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, workflows, and many more for our product and software services. This helps us collaborate better as a remote team to brainstorm and express our design and thought process, identify issues early on, get sign-off from stakeholders, and get feedback from subject matter experts while identifying corner cases or use cases missed.

A specific example of how I use Lucidchart for one of my projects is that we primarily use it as a process visualization tool. We use it to document workflows, department standard operating procedures, and handoffs so that we have something we can give people rather than just verbal training or a text document. It provides a visual reference they can review.

Additionally, Lucidchart helps with diagramming and project management. It works well when you need to collaborate between different departments that share similar goals or when helping to collaborate with clients effectively.

The best features Lucidchart offers are that it diagrams processes very well. It allows for project management to help with client timelines. It is also easy to use and create diagrams, especially mermaid diagrams. Collaborating is easy.

Out of all those features, collaboration stands out to me the most because it is easy to share with team members to do joint design work.

In terms of specifics, collaboration helps us come to conclusions. I notice better throughput as it is easy to use. Improved productivity allows us to express ourselves more quickly.

One way Lucidchart can be improved is that finding a document that has been shared with me without having the link is tricky, or the amount of diagrams can become overwhelming and bury the document I actually need.

I also think the tutorials could always be improved for better online documentation.

Another improvement could be that the user interface can be a bit cleaner.

I have been using Lucidchart for five years.

My advice to others looking into using Lucidchart is that if you are looking for a lightweight project mapping and collaboration tool within teams and across teams to get on the same page when it comes to a project plan for the future, Lucidchart is the best solution for that.

I have observed several advantages overall while using Lucidchart. It has improved time to decision by at least fifteen percent. It has created more visibility over the process and decision-making across our business. It enables collaboration across the team to improve by at least thirteen percent. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Lucidchart has positively impacted my organization, as we have been using it for a while. The same people are comfortable using the tool, which makes planning process flows easier than trying to work in a Word document or a similar tool that does not offer as much as Lucidchart.

A specific example of how Lucidchart made a process easier for my team is that the diagrams we created could be exported as PDF or SVG files, which we shared without losing any quality. The collaboration with the rest of the team, where we have access to only what we are supposed to, also helped us work faster rather than everyone starting from scratch.

In my opinion, the best features Lucidchart offers include the toolkits they provide, such as the icons for AWS. These features allow us to use proper service icons rather than simple plain boxes for everything, helping us effectively map out the actual services instead of getting confused.

The AWS icons and toolkits make my diagramming process easier and more effective because it is easy to explain and show to my customers which service is being used for a particular component. For instance, when using Amazon S3 for object storage or Amazon RDS for SQL, I can clearly indicate those services. If I need to show containers, I can pick those specific icons to demonstrate that, making it easier than reading it within a box.

Lucidchart also offers other specific UML diagrams that I could use, including class diagrams, before I get into the code-level details.

We use Lucidchart for a number of things including workflow diagramming, org chart development, and process workflows. We process many legal things with real estate, such as ownership charts and title transfers. It's far easier to do these tasks visually than it is in language.

The benefits since implementing Lucidchart are mostly because taking a visual approach to any of these things is far superior to trying to type it out or write it out or explain it to anyone. Secondly, Lucidchart does a great implementation of that visual approach. It has greatly influenced us in clarity.

I cannot speak specifically to efficiency metrics, but clarity itself develops efficiency and resiliency because most of what we do doesn't get questioned later, and we maintain better tracking of processes and pathways.

One of the best features of Lucidchart is that it's robust. I appreciate being able to use it collaboratively with other people. We use both Lucidchart and Miro collaboratively across the division with four or five of us working with it.

I've attended several seminars which were very good. While some users implement it for Agile and other advanced processes, we use it as a visualization tool for processes and constructs involved in real estate transactions. Lucidchart is excellent because it allows us to attach pieces together, shuffle them around, and maintain connections without losing track of relationships.

The system is a bit clumsy when it comes to stylizing to match corporate imaging styles. In real estate, we need everything to have the same look and feel as our materials. Beyond dropping a logo in, it's not particularly comfortable working with our corporate font set.

I have been working with it for about a year now.

I haven't done much with Lucidchart's integration with other popular apps such as Teams, though one of my colleagues mentioned it can be added. This has sparked my interest to look into integration with Excel and Word, though we haven't implemented these features yet in our less than a year of operation.

I access Lucidchart from multiple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and PC desktop. Our PCs are all laptops, so we can work remotely. I've collaborated with people from home on my iPad while they were on their laptop, though this isn't our routine behavior.

I would recommend Lucidchart to others, but I'd also recommend exploring other options. It depends on what your fit and feel is for what you're trying to accomplish. For heavy users or technical users, Lucidchart might be very appealing. It has more capabilities than I'm currently using. The Highway Bridge Maintenance group, who are familiar with Agile processes, speak positively about it. For average users, they might find similar functionality in Miro or other less expensive alternatives.

We have been using Lucidchart for creating flowcharts and process diagrams specifically. As I am involved in core development, including both front end and back end, we utilize it for designing any new feature that comes in and for designing any use case for a specific flow of a journey, such as end-to-end flows for apps and web. We also utilize these charts as part of our documented repository for future reference because I work for a product-based company, a large MNC, Adobe. We keep all these documents for future reference in case there are any updates or things we need to modify or revisit in our implementation.

Lucidchart is highly scalable. We are a big organization, and this specific tool is utilized not just by the tech team but in other departments as well. Business analysts and project managers also utilize it, and being a large organization, it is scalable enough because we already use it across teams and regions.

The most important feature of Lucidchart is that it is cloud-based, providing real flexibility in terms of features including the drag and drop diagram builder, along with some prebuilt templates for flowcharts and ER diagrams, which are very useful. Another aspect is the real-time collaboration feature, allowing my team and cross-team collaboration with everyone having reference to the same flowchart for a specific feature or product we are developing. We can jointly collaborate and give our feedback, which makes it very useful for us.

It functions as a solution design tool in a Figma-style format where we can comment and share with the teams, allowing people to give their feedback and suggestions while the tech and business teams coordinate simultaneously.

In terms of the UI aspect of Lucidchart, I see that most of the features are available on the left pane, which has the basic diagrams and shapes. For advanced features, I would say it could be improved in sectionizing the specific tools more efficiently because using the advanced tools is sometimes difficult to find. A user might not be aware of all features it provides, so I would suggest that the advanced and popular features could be highlighted a bit more to improve the UI and UX perspective.

I have been using Lucidchart for more than two years now, and currently I am also using this in my project.

I am not specifically aware of Lucidchart's pricing and licensing as that is something handled by the sales team, so it does not directly come to us in the tech team. A dedicated sales team manages all the purchases and related dealings.

As a lead engineer, I see positive effects from Lucidchart in my company, particularly in drawing an initial roadmap for project development and outlining use cases. It helps in visualizing what and how we are going to sectionize development and manage the actual go-lives for features. It simplifies collaboration by allowing both technical and non-technical personnel to clearly connect and discuss how things are going to work.

Based on everything I have described, I would rate Lucidchart a nine out of ten.

My main use case for Lucidchart is creating operating platform models and different types of diagrams that show how systems, processes, and people work together.

I create any kind of diagramming through Lucidchart, including the operating platform model that we create for our projects.

For my project called Voice of the Donor, I built the entire thing on Lucidchart where I basically showed all the different systems and how the data is being exchanged, who are the people that are involved, what are the processes that are involved, the names of the applications that are involved, and all those things were diagrammed in Lucidchart.

The best features Lucidchart offers are probably the different types of shapes that you can drag and drop, and then the arrows. You can also add your own different types of shapes. I think it is very useful to have the drag and drop shapes and icons for different applications, as it makes it very easy and straightforward.

The drag and drop shapes and custom icons help me in my work because it basically helps to visualize the process by just showing what the applications are and visualizing what those applications look like. If it is a telephone, we have a telephone symbol. If it is Salesforce, there is a Salesforce logo on there. The application logos make it very easy to build diagrams.

Lucidchart has positively impacted my organization by making it very easy for us to create diagrams of any type, and we use it extensively.

I choose seven because of those things I mentioned where adjusting different things and drawing the lines is basically not very intuitive at all. It is very time-consuming trying to figure out which lines to grab to change the shapes and to drag them in different places or the arrows. Those are very hard to manage and deal with sometimes.

We are not tracking return on investment that extensively, but I know we obviously are saving time and it helps with clarity in projects, so that is a huge time saver and cost saver as well.

I was not that heavily involved in pricing, setup cost, and licensing, but I believe we just paid for a number of seats. We have licenses based on how many people are going to be using it approximately, and we give out the licenses to the Solutions Architects and the people that need that license, and we pay for X number of licenses per year.

I have used all different types of solutions before Lucidchart. I do not really remember the names of too many of them. The one that comes with Microsoft, I have used that one. I think I have used ExcelaChart. There is one in Microsoft that is built-in, and there is one in Confluence also, draw.io, something like that.

My advice to others looking into using Lucidchart is just to play around with it. I give this product a rating of seven.

When mapping business processes and outcomes with Lucidchart, I can walk you through a recent example from our current project. We use it to brainstorm and ideate on projects we receive from clients. Since we work in Agile, we ensure that during sprint planning, we collaborate well with stakeholders and the product owner. We conduct a significant amount of brainstorming using the ideate feature in Lucidspark and then formalize this into chart flows. This is how we ideate and map business processes and customer journeys.

In addition to our main use cases for Lucidchart, we also use it for design and technical architectures such as cloud data microservices and ERDs, which often connect to similar systems and records like Jira, Salesforce, or other solutions.

The best features Lucidchart offers include multiple capabilities I personally love, particularly with diagramming, which helps us with flowcharts, BPMN, ERD, UML, organizational charts, and other diagrams with a good size of data-linked shapes and some conditional formatting. That is the number one feature which I love. Additionally, Lucidchart provides us real-time multiuser collaboration, which helps us ensure that everything is tracked in real-time. Other options such as present indicators, comment sections, and visual activities such as voting and groupings are also really good features that help us facilitate workshops and decision journeys.

The real-time collaboration provided by Lucidchart impacts our workflow significantly. For instance, in sprint planning, we have a proper collaboration session where the product owner tells us what needs to be included in our upcoming sprint. During this, we ideate on the boards using the tool, allowing us to visualize what can be done. This functionality gives good visibility of the board, ensuring that whatever needs to be done is apparent. It offers a variety of inspection options, and once things are transparent on the boards, the team can work on it in a solid way. That is why we use this feature, and it is my personal favorite.

The integrations with Lucidchart are also really good, as we use Google Marketplace solutions such as Google Workspace and Microsoft products, all of which work together. We utilize Jira and Confluence support, which integrates well, along with GitHub for our repository. Additionally, we use Salesforce for our CRM, and it smoothly connects with Lean and more, allowing us to integrate in real-time.

Lucidchart has positively impacted our organization by enabling us to identify process bottlenecks and architecture issues earlier, which improves our project outcomes and reduces network load. The metrics related to process bottlenecks and architecture issues have improved significantly by 61%. The identification of these bottlenecks, along with improved project outcomes and reduced rework, has decreased by almost 30-40%. Furthermore, it has helped in better visual communication and has accelerated onboarding and executive alignment, especially for hiring managers.

Regarding improvements for Lucidchart, I feel that it works overall. The primary area that could be improved is the learning curve. I think it still needs some additional introduction, such as introductory videos or training for new users, as this platform can be overwhelming for those coming from a non-tech background. More advanced training or introductions could really help newcomers. Aside from that, everything is working, and I do not have any problems.

Lucidchart is definitely a stable solution. We did not face any downtime, bugs, or glitches.

Lucidchart has good scalability. It provides a solid technical solution, and whenever we need to upscale or downscale, we can do so according to the tier pricing. You can choose any tier you want by moving to a higher plan, so scalability is not an issue. I believe it is definitely a scalable solution.

The customer support for Lucidchart is really good. We had an interaction with the team about six months back regarding an update issue we were facing on one of our systems. We contacted them, and they resolved the issue within 45 minutes.

We got team plans that run around nine to ten USD per seat, helping us with custom features such as SAML, SSO, and security automation. When discussing pricing, it is quite favorable compared to competitors. Licensing and other aspects have been managed through AWS, which has been very transparent, and we have not encountered unexpected charges.

We did evaluate other options before choosing Lucidchart, including Microsoft Visio, Google Drawings, draw.io, Gliffy, and XMind, among others. These evaluations helped us understand the basic use cases, and we found that Lucidchart has been exceptionally better compared to them, which is why we have chosen it.

I chose five for my overall rating because I feel that Lucidchart delivers everything we imagined it would provide as a technical solution. I do not have any problems with usability, scalability, or support. Everything is working. Our teams are experienced members, so they do not need the technical or introductory support I mentioned for improvements. That does not apply to us. That is why I feel it is a five from me. Lucidchart is a good solution and deserves a five from my side. I would advise that if you are searching for a solid remote collaboration tool, you can definitely go for Lucidchart. It provides good technical problem-solving capabilities, and you can conduct a lot of brainstorming for teams. It is a dedicated solution that suits organizations of all sizes, so whether you are a small, medium, or enterprise-level tech, you can definitely consider Lucidchart. My overall rating for this product is 5 out of 5.

I recently did flow charting for one of the nonprofit organizations that I help with using Lucidchart. This is probably where my activity was seen.

At T-Mobile, I used Lucidchart for flow charting and architectural designs to showcase to the organization how we wanted certain solutions to be designed. I used it for capturing brainstorming ideas and using that to get approvals from our stakeholders.

The architecture and brainstorming features worked exceptionally well for me. No one in the organization had used it for brainstorming, and my implementation really helped with the visuals and capturing people's opinions and divergent thought processes.

During meetings when we were brainstorming, everybody had the option of jumping in, adding comments, or indicating assignments.

Collaboration was particularly helpful because sometimes I had less visibility into certain areas, although I did the diagramming. When someone with more expertise would join, they would correct me, reword content, or add elements to the diagram that made it more accurate.

Though I really appreciate Lucidchart, I feel it is not as intuitive as it could be. I found myself struggling to understand new features, which required searching through help documentation.

The scaling of the page during presentations was challenging. During mid-presentation, it would sometimes switch to a very detailed view, and I would struggle to scale it back to a larger, more complete view. While I found the presentation aspect challenging, it remained the best among all available tools.

Implementing guides that appear on screen to assist with features would be beneficial, such as indicating when to use the plus sign for additions.

I am initiating Lucidchart with a small nonprofit organization. They were working in a basic way, using monday.com for their workflow management and automation. Mapping the content creation workflow in Lucidchart brings significant clarity to how tasks are distributed and executed. Earlier, there was confusion around ownership and timelines, which often led to delays and duplicated effort. After visualizing the entire process, it became easier to assign clear responsibilities at each stage and set a more structured flow. As a result, coordination improved significantly. Our team members knew exactly where their role fit in, approvals became faster, and we were able to reduce back-and-forth communication. Overall, it made the workflow more streamlined and predictable, reducing time constraints and making the entire team more productive, allowing us to focus more time on serious tasks that needed our attention.

The standout feature for Lucidchart is the real-time collaboration. It allows multiple users to work on the same diagram simultaneously with features including live cursor, comments, and instant updates. This makes teamwork much more efficient as everyone can contribute, give feedback, and make changes in real time with no delays. Additionally, the drag-and-drop interface allows me to easily drag and drop various diagrams, which is very useful for constructing workflow diagrams.

We use the collaboration feature in Lucidchart quite frequently, especially during the initial planning and structuring phase of projects. Typically, we use it a few times a week whenever we are building or refining a workflow, with multiple team members contributing in real time. The comments feature is used regularly for feedback and suggestions, which helps to reduce unnecessary meetings. While we do not rely heavily on the chat function, the commenting system is enough for most of our collaboration, allowing team members to comment on specific parts of the diagram, keeping everything context-specific and within the diagram.

One additional feature I find particularly valuable in Lucidchart is its wide range of templates and ease of use. As mentioned, the drag-and-drop feature significantly reduces the time required to create diagrams from scratch, especially for common use cases such as flowcharts or process maps. I appreciate how intuitive the drag-and-drop interface is, making it easy even for new users to get started quickly. Overall, the combination of collaboration features, templates, and ease of use makes it a very efficient tool for both individual and team-based work.

While Lucidchart is very effective and efficient overall, there are a few areas where it could improve. One key area is performance; when working on larger or more complex diagrams, it can sometimes feel slightly slow or laggy compared to Microsoft Visio. Another area of improvement could be pricing and access to advanced features since some useful functionalities are restricted to higher-tier plans. Making more features available in the basic version would make it more accessible for students and smaller teams, as many startups cannot focus on higher-tier plans. Additionally, while the platform offers many templates and integrations, improving customization, flexibility, and making certain advanced features more intuitive would enhance the overall user experience.

Another issue is performance; as mentioned, working on larger or more complex diagrams can feel slow or laggy. Another area is pricing, as some advanced features are locked behind high-tier plans, which may not be ideal for students or smaller teams. Additionally, it could improve offline accessibility or performance under low internet conditions, as I remember working on a workflow diagram in a car where I lost my network connection, and the entire diagram I had been working on disappeared. Furthermore, version control and tracking changes over time could be more refined, especially for larger teams working on complex projects. Overall, it is a powerful tool, but improving performance, accessibility, and flexibility would make it even more user-friendly.

I have been using Lucidchart on a regular basis for almost eight to ten months.

Lucidchart is quite stable for regular use on day-to-day diagrams. I have not experienced major crashes during normal workflows, especially for small to medium-sized projects. However, based on experience and general user feedback, performance issues can arise when working on very large or complex diagrams, leading to lag or occasional freezing, especially in a browser-based environment. There is also limited access to direct support options such as live chat, which can delay resolution in urgent situations. Overall, customer support is reliable for standard issues but could be more responsive and accessible for complex or time-sensitive problems.

Previously, before using Lucidchart, I mainly relied on basic tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft Visio and manual sketches to create simple diagrams. While those worked for basic needs, they lacked structured features. Visio is good in comparison to Lucidchart, but switching to Lucidchart provided a more honest and professional way to create workflows, improving overall clarity and teamwork.
