It was easy to use RPA through API connections
Pros and Cons
  • "We have a close relationship with our account manager and technical support. This relationship makes the difference."
  • "Automation Anywhere could improve its integration with Python and other programming languages."

What is our primary use case?

We set up a bot that works on the billing system. It uses RPA and generative AI to analyze the contracts of our B2B customers and check information in the IT systems, CRM, billing, etc. We compare and correct an invoice before it's automated to avoid wrong entries for our customers.

How has it helped my organization?

We run 14 projects in parallel, generating revenue efficiency, improving customer experience, and saving millions of dollars. Automation Anywhere affects the center of the business.

In one case, we reduced the time spent on a task from 30 minutes to one minute. Before Automation Anywhere, we used to perform the tasks manually. These tasks account for 20 to 30 percent of the total. We can perform all these tasks in Automation Anywhere much faster than the old process. The tasks are fully automated. It's critical. We don't have more customer complaints about the wrong invoice in the B2B market.

Automation Anywhere's Pathfinder program has supported us to evaluate the maturity of our Center of Excellence.

What is most valuable?

It was easy to use Automation Anywhere's RPA through API connections, and it works well. It's easy for non-technical users to learn to use Automation Anywhere. We just finished teaching our telecom company last week with Automation Anywhere to democratize the solution. We made a bot for the company to give them the power of RPA and artificial intelligence. They love the tool. It's easy and low-code. I think it will be easy to do citizen development.

Our developers find Automation Anywhere's learning curve to be extremely short. We have good developers who can learn automation anywhere quickly. We have integrated AA with CRM, billing systems, external databases, and websites. It's easy to integrate because there are so many ready-made automations that you don't need to build. It's easy and fast.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere could improve its integration with Python and other programming languages.

For how long have I used the solution?

We started using Automation Anywhere last year and, from August to September, created a center of excellence in automation and AI.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate Automation Anywhere nine out of 10 for stability. It's highly stable compared to other automation platforms.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I work for a global enterprise, so they innovate fast. Automation and generative AI scales up incredibly quickly.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Automation Anywhere support nine out of 10. They respond quickly and know what they're doing. We have a close relationship with our account manager and technical support. This relationship makes the difference.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We tried UiPath and Blue Prism before deciding on Automation Anywhere. We chose Automation Aware because of its support, which was better than that of other enterprises.

How was the initial setup?

It's easy to deploy, install, and learn Automation Anywhere. We deployed it ourselves without the help of any integrators.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is comparable to other enterprise solutions in Brazil, such as UiPath and Blue Prism. The setup cost is nothing because we deploy it in the cloud. The licensing model isn't too difficult to understand like other solutions.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Automation Anywhere 10 out of 10. My favorite part of the Imagine Conference is the hands-on labs. They were impressive. Using generative AI and automation, I made a bot in three minutes. It's my first time here at Imagine, and it's a well-organized event with good information for automation customers.

I would encourage people to come to the conference to build good relationships and network with peers. The technology you acquire here is crucial.

Enables swift process automation and financial savings through straightforward development
Pros and Cons
  • "It is very self-explanatory, making it easy for non-technical users to develop."
  • "The platform has good capabilities, but it could improve by providing more development options."

What is our primary use case?

I currently work with both UiPath and Automation Anywhere. I mostly employ these tools for RPA automation use cases. For example, I can handle any kind of manual invoice processing, document automation, or any manual processes involving multiple business logic and applications.

What is most valuable?

I think the automation creation is very straightforward. It is drag and drop, with no need to write any code. It is very self-explanatory, making it easy for non-technical users to develop. Also, the overall platform is easy to navigate and learn, making it simple to adapt and use. As I automate manual processes, it helps reduce efforts, leading to financial savings because the speed at which I process has improved. Additionally, I have been able to redirect some headcounts to other work areas, such as research. This has yielded financial benefits by reducing the headcount on these processes. Normally, it takes three to six months post-development and moving to production to realize the benefits of each automation. Since implementing Appia, I have seen significant benefits within a couple of years.

What needs improvement?

The platform has good capabilities, but it could improve by providing more development options. Currently, it is really restricted to whatever its own ecosystem provides. Aligning the product more closely with a framework, such as the .NET framework or the standard coding practices in other languages, would simplify adaptation for regular developers. It would be beneficial if the platform provided options for power developers to integrate seamlessly with languages like Java or C#, allowing them to write their own scripts and code.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for about five or six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

So far, the solution is good and stable, without much downtime experienced.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Organizations can onboard this platform and scale their automation journey because it is very easy to adapt and set up. They can seamlessly integrate with most business automation processes and use the platform to automate their processes on those applications.

How are customer service and support?

I believe the support is on par with industry standards. The SLAs are based on the criticality and compare well with other companies in the market. I would rate them around nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously using UiPath. The switch was mostly due to cost factors, specifically regarding licensing. Otherwise, in terms of capabilities and the platform, WebKit is also a great platform.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is somewhere in the middle, neither very complex nor very straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

I had a team for deployment, coordinated by our infrastructure team. The whole team, including five engineers, was involved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In terms of percentages, costs depend on the complexity and size of the processes. On average, I have managed to reduce spends by up to fifty or sixty percent relative to our budget.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Blue Prism and other tools like WorkFusion, among others. However, I found the Automation Anywhere to be more capable and easier to migrate than UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

My advice is to evaluate and compare with other products available in the market. If someone is looking for an automation platform that's easy to adapt, easy to set up, and competitively priced in terms of licensing, they can definitely choose this product. With courses available in Automation Anywhere University, it should not take more than a month to learn properly and try it out. I have Automation Copilot, similar to MS Copilot, to help developers build code based on prompts. I haven't fully utilized it yet. I would give the overall product a rating of nine out of ten.

Eliminates extensive coding and integrates well with enterprise applications
Pros and Cons
  • "Automation Anywhere has a drag-and-drop feature eliminating the need for extensive coding."
  • "They have an AI platform with GenAI implemented to help us generate anything that is necessary for automation."
  • "One area requiring improvement is the debugging process. When I use a multi-structure with conditions to switch from one bot to another, successful debugging of the entire process is not feasible. Each bot has to be debugged individually."
  • "One area requiring improvement is the debugging process. When I use a multi-structure with conditions to switch from one bot to another, successful debugging of the entire process is not feasible."

What is our primary use case?

I am working specifically in the finance sector of every single business. Currently, I am collaborating with the finance department of a company to automate their reconciliation and other processes. It works well with ERP automation and similar tasks.

How has it helped my organization?

Before Automation Anywhere, we had Python automation packages. The challenging part about that was it required a lot of coding and error handling. That becomes very complicated, whereas in Automation Anywhere, we already have the framework. We just need to put the logic and all the error handling is done by the Automation Anywhere framework. It is quite good. The availability of frameworks for error handling allowing users to insert logic without additional handling is valuable.

They have an AI platform with GenAI implemented to help us generate anything that is necessary for automation.

Co-Pilot is an interface between a human and a bot. It helps us to give basic instructions or human-related intelligence to a particular bot to complete certain processes. It is quite an important part of automation when we need a human to decide what to do.

It definitely increases productivity. If a human takes six to seven hours to complete a process, a bot can do it within two to three hours with the help of a human if we include Co-Pilot.

When it comes to integration, I have integrated Automation Anywhere with Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, SAP, and Salesforce. All business and enterprise applications are pretty compatible with Automation Anywhere.

The benefits of Automation Anywhere can be seen immediately.

What is most valuable?

Automation Anywhere has a drag-and-drop feature eliminating the need for extensive coding.

It has a large supportive community. They support you at every single step. Their Apeople community is similar to the GitHub community. They are immensely helpful in developing automation bots.

What needs improvement?

One area requiring improvement is the debugging process. When I use a multi-structure with conditions to switch from one bot to another, successful debugging of the entire process is not feasible. Each bot has to be debugged individually.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for almost four and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the automation depends on the applications being automated. For very old or legacy applications, there may be crashes. However, with the latest applications, there are no significant issues like freezing or crashing.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is quite flexible. For cloud-based applications, there is the option of APIs. For Windows-based applications, it provides UI interface automation, which enhances its scalability.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is quite good, offering silver, gold, and diamond levels depending on the license. I have had instances of contacting support for compatibility issues, and they provide solutions such as patches. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate the support as eight.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Microsoft's Power Automate, which is excellent for automation processes within Microsoft-related products. However, it lacks efficacy with other applications such as SAP, Salesforce, and others.

How was the initial setup?

The setup varies with the deployment type. Cloud deployment is straightforward with only a few steps. Dealing with on-premises can be more complex due to customization for specific organizational needs.

The upgrades are quite easy. You just need to select the appropriate version suitable for your business. You need to contact Automation Anywhere, and they will do it for you. There are no hidden charges.

It requires maintenance. If you update your basic application, you also need to update Automation Anywhere to that level. If your application is old or not compatible with Automation Anywhere, they can create some sort of patch to link those applications together.

What about the implementation team?

A single person can manage the deployment if they are purchasing the correct license with support. Alternatively, without direct support, an organization might need at least one professional and one developer.

What other advice do I have?

For business users, there is a separate dashboard and UI to help automate their process. If you are very new to Automation Anywhere but have a basic knowledge of your processes, you can directly automate with Automation Anywhere. If you have basic knowledge of any programming language, it is easy. You can also go to Automation Anywhere University and go through some basic videos. A new person can get started with it within 15 days.

I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Frees up staff time and easy for non-technical users with drag-and-drop functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "We can do automation for some complex issues."
  • "We'd like to see more AI features."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily automate tasks in the financial area, including invoice processing. We can automate audits and do onboarding and offboarding as well, among other tasks.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation Anywhere is simplifying processes. It is helping us create better customer experiences.

What is most valuable?

The Co-Pilot feature is one of the features we really like. It's helped accelerate automation adoption more broadly across our organization. There are a lot of use cases for it. Co-Pilot has helped us increase productivity. Automation Anywhere in general makes tasks faster. We can do jobs in a couple of minutes versus hours or days.

We can do automation for some complex issues.

Before the processes were automated, there were a lot of gaps and places where human error could occur. Processes that took days and days of time are streamlined and reduced significantly.

Even for users who don't have technical knowledge, there are drag-and-drop features that help them create automation. They don't need to be technical.

It's helped us free up staff time to work on other tasks. All of the people who were initially part of the job processes can be moved off to other things. The automation handles the tasks.

We have other tools integrated into Automation Anywhere, including Microsft Programs.

The integration of automation into workflows and business applications has been good. It's been easy to adopt.

It's positively affected our business. We've been able to apply it to broader jobs and save time. It's enhanced user and customer experiences and ensures we have on-time interactions with customers.

We've been able to save on time and cost. We've witnessed a lot of savings. We're able to spend a few minutes on tasks instead of hours or days.

It can provide automation at scale. We've been able to develop programs that engage teams effectively.

We can go online and learn about what we learn about Automation Anywhere. There is AI training on the roadmap, and we're excited to see how much AI will enhance the solution in the future.

What needs improvement?

We'd like to see more AI features.

For how long have I used the solution?

10 years

How are customer service and support?

Technical support was okay. They have been able to supply patches to us for issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously use a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

The setup process was easy. We were able to leverage some time savings during the deployment. We didn't have too much downtime.

What about the implementation team?

We initially began the deployment with a reseller.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing and licensing are reasonable. We were able to get what we needed. The vendor understand what we wanted and offered certain pricing based on what we wanted. As we scale up, the pricing will change according to how we use it.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options and decided not to move forward.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution at nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Automation reduces personnel expenses and errors in back-office processes
Pros and Cons
  • "What Automation Anywhere is offering is amazing from a back-end office accounting standpoint."
  • "It is not as easy to implement as advertised. It is difficult across the board. It is difficult for technical and non-technical users."

What is our primary use case?

We attempted to implement this solution into the back-office business processes of various entities.

How has it helped my organization?

The program itself is phenomenal in terms of its design. It solves a lot of different issues. It cuts down on the need for large accounting personnel groups within organizations because it automates back-end office processes, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and just all those types of things. I am a CPA, so I see the potential benefit of Automation Anywhere being implemented within a business structure.

What Automation Anywhere is offering is amazing from a back-end office accounting standpoint. If implemented correctly, it is amazing.

I have not integrated it with any other solution. I have only been focused on backend office automation, but I know it has that capability because I have trained in it. I have built the bots. It is amazing if it works properly. I consider myself a fairly intelligent person who has been in the accounting field since the eighties, and it is truly revolutionary.

What is most valuable?

I like the holistic approach of the company to automation. Many automation software solutions focus on only one area. I am particularly talking about back-office processes such as accounting, AR, AP, treasury management, financial statement forecasting, presentation, budgeting, and similar areas. That's where my expertise lies. I appreciate that it automates all these processes.

What needs improvement?

The learning curve is an issue in terms of implementation and writing scripts, which is a challenge. Although it is advertised as easy to implement, it is not. It is not easy to learn or implement. However, if you have the IT staff and are willing to invest the time to learn it, then it is worth it. You need the planning and the capability to hire the appropriate people to implement Automation Anywhere. It is not as easy to implement as advertised. It is difficult across the board. It is difficult for technical and non-technical users.

I am still in the learning stages. I attempted to implement it with a client, but the client did not move forward with it because it was too costly and too difficult to implement without the significant assistance of Automation Anywhere. The issue with Automation Anywhere is that the majority of their help staff or technical staff seems to be offshore, not located in the United States. That is, in my opinion, an issue for companies. In addition to that, it is for companies that are very large. It is not for mid-level and below companies because it is too expensive. It is unfortunate. I could sell a bunch of it if it was affordable. So, the fact that the majority of their staff is offshore making it difficult to get technical support from them and the fact that it is unaffordable to anything other than the Nikes of the world is an issue in the United States.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere since June 2024.

How are customer service and support?

I've attempted to engage with customer service, but it is difficult and a drawback. For instance, my partner and I did extensive training on the university to get certifications so we could be approved as resellers. The process had many glitches, and verifying our passed certification exams took weeks, something that should be a simple button press. For an entity promoting automation, there was no automation involved in that process, which is a red flag.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What was our ROI?

In terms of return on investment, the benefit is realized economically because you may not need as many employees, reducing personnel expenses. For example, if you have seven people in accounts payable, you might reduce that number to three if Automation Anywhere is implemented and monitored properly, so the savings can be realized right away.

The software also minimizes errors, unlike humans, who may lose focus during routine tasks. The speed at which the automation bot operates compared to a human delivers significant cost savings and return on investment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I've also used Topalti, an accounts payable automated solution. Topalti has prewritten all the scripts and done everything needed, unlike Automation Anywhere, where I would have to do everything manually. However, Topalti only focuses on accounts payable for certain industries.

What other advice do I have?

A major issue is that a large percentage of their help staff is offshore, which is problematic for U.S.-based companies. It is also more suitable for very large companies, not mid-level or smaller companies, as it is too expensive.

I could sell more if it were affordable.

The two main issues are the difficulty in obtaining technical support and the fact that it's unaffordable for anything other than very large companies.

Overall, I rate the product ten out of ten, the sales channels four out of ten, and the support four out of ten.

Easy for non-technical users, great document automation, and has a low learning curve
Pros and Cons
  • "The integration is helpful. We have quite a few use cases where we've integrated with Microsoft tools and local record systems, such as SAP and Vertex AI."
  • "Automation Anywhere can be improved by offering more integration with many more applications."

What is our primary use case?

We mostly started using Automation Anywhere for RPA projects. Now, we have a lot of intelligent automation. A few of our cases are using document automation since we have a lot of technical documentation in our engineering enterprise.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation Anywhere brings a lot of value, not only via automation but with citizen developers. People who do not have the ability to create technical solutions are now able to do it. We are doing some things like hackathons with Automation Anywhere. It's another way of adding value to the business.

What is most valuable?

The document automation is the most valuable aspect of the solution. The new enhanced version is a game changer. We have gained lots of improvements by extracting data, including unstructured data from images to structured data. With the quality and accuracy, we are now able to bring lots of value. We've using generative AI with this data and making the automation more intelligent.

The processes and tasks automated by Automation Anywhere versus how they were done prior to implementation are much more streamlined. We get a lot of efficiency. We get precision. We're able to free up labor tasks and gain efficiency and productivity. There are some processes that need special attention or there are concerns about governance. In finance, an error can be an obstacle. It can be a pitfall also. Confidence is always a thing we are looking for. We must be confident there are no errors. With Automation Anywhere, we can remove mistakes.

It is easy for business users who don't have technical skills. When we communicate properly the opportunity or challenge to people, and when we can show the value of automation, they embrace it. It brings those even without technical skills a lot of opportunities. Even we are surprised with what people can do. People know best what they need to do with their tasks. If they can automate a solution by themselves, it brings a lot of value.

The learning curve is very short. We have started a few hackathons. We've noticed, in one week, that we were able to do 40 cases. We did it twice. So in two weeks, we have almost 80 cases from idea to construction. We did it in two different cities in Brazil, and it was an amazing opportunity to bring value to people who did not have technical skills in such a short time frame.

We are starting to use Automation Co-Pilot, and we are very enthusiastic. We are very happy with this new tool and expect many more use cases from it in the future.

Co-Pilot helped accelerate automation adoption. It's an easy way to do more with the automation. People feel free to focus on the problem and not on the technical skills. This is a big game changer when there's a person without technical skills.

Co-Pilot has also helped increase productivity. Even those without technical skills can automate tasks and develop things very quickly. They can have an idea and come up with a solution in a very short timeframe. It can free up staff time. They can automate tasks to free up time to work on other things. It helps speed up work significantly.

There are applications we can embed Automation Co-Pilot into a few websites. We have a lot in the enterprise. Things like Salesforce and Teams can be integrated. We can do a lot by activating Co-Pilot from Teams. We can use it as an assistant in Teams for our team. We've also integrated Google Cloud and AI to add in more AI solutions.

The integration is helpful. We have quite a few use cases where we've integrated with Microsoft tools and local record systems, such as SAP and Vertex AI.

The labor costs have been lowered. It's always a concern and the proper use of our staff, and their capacity and competency, is important. With automation, we can help them focus on more high-value tasks. Automation gives them the ability to move away from repetitive and boring tasks and move them to more important areas.

We've been able to save a lot of time and costs by replacing repetitive and boring labor tasks with more important ones.

We're leveraging other Automation Anywhere programs. There's a lot of value when using professional services. We can look at similar use cases and learn from those.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere can be improved by offering more integration with many more applications. While it is very integrated nowadays, the complexity is a key issue. Common users must have the opportunity to integrate it with many more environments.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very good. It is a robust solution. We haven't faced any issues within the four years or use. Stability, combined with innovation, has been invaluable. The product is never static. We always have access to more enhancements and products with updates within a very short timeframe.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere provides automation at scale. It's realized mostly when we combine many technologies and use them in the same process. When we use it in conjunction with other things, we can gain the most value out of each technology. The limits nowadays are almost zero as there is so much integration possible.

How are customer service and support?

We have Gold Service with Automation Anywhere. Support has been a big advantage for us. We have many assets and 8,000 employees. It's a big operation. That's why we need proper support that can help us with multiple automation. Any change or mistake can be rapidly managed with the level of support we are provided.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously use a different automation solution. We started from scratch with Automation Anywhere.

How was the initial setup?

We've been able to deploy the solution easily. We've been able to integrate it with our systems of record and other tools.

The experience has been good. It's important to do it with the proper partner and proper team. When we merge product and project teams, it helps make the deployment process seamless.

What about the implementation team?

We do have some partners that help us with the deployment.

What was our ROI?

We've witnessed an ROI not only on the automation but in the integration with Google, Microsoft, and other platforms. The net value we receive is across many aspects. Now, we have an average of more than 30,000 hours saved per year on labor costs. We've also seen more cost reductions related to automation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of the solution is okay. We've bought licensing via a big bid. It was hard to define as it was the first time we were using the solution. Of the second round, we were very focused on what we needed. We understood the process better. It's provided a lot of value these days.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options, including solutions from Microsft and SAP. The difference is that Automation Anywhere can integrate different platforms. That way, we are not limited to just one platform. We can combine many different technologies while having the liberty to scale across many different processes.

What other advice do I have?

The Imagine Conference by Automation Anywhere has been helpful. It's a good event for everyone - for both technical and business people, as well as students. It helps everyone realize the opportunities of automation and unlock value in the face of challenges. We're seeing automation become simpler and user-friendly, which is allowing us to be more productive.

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. It brings a lot of innovation to our company. It's great for technical and non-technical people.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Significantly improves productivity and delivery time
Pros and Cons
  • "Automation Anywhere is quite easy to use for users who are not technical, especially business users."
  • "Its licensing can become too expensive for a small startup company."

What is our primary use case?

I've been working in the IT department team, and my use cases are mainly about automating most of the repetitive tasks using bots.

What is most valuable?

At first, I was using tools such as Blue Prism and UiPath, and when I did the comparison between Automation Anywhere and the previous tools, I saw a great change and impact, especially in the user-friendly interface. The interaction with the tool is quite good.

Automation Anywhere is quite easy to use for users who are not technical, especially business users.

Automation Anywhere has helped with productivity, especially in the delivery time because while working in the IT department, interacting with the finance department and the HR data entry, it helped me deliver quick results. I was automating the roles from the HR data entry and the finance department.

By using Automation Anywhere, I have seen a great change in my time savings and in delivering my product.

What needs improvement?

Its licensing can become too expensive for a small startup company.

During deployment or initial development, more elaboration about particular features of Automation Anywhere would be helpful when knowledge is limited.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the Automation Anywhere tool for around two years and six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The performance of Automation Anywhere is quite fast and good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding scalability in Automation Anywhere, I was working on a small project initially, and I'm currently on a large project. If I compare the efficiency of handling both projects small and large, I can say that it fully accommodates the scalability of projects depending on their size.

How are customer service and support?

I have never contacted the technical support or customer support of Automation Anywhere because when I visit the FAQs and through the guides of the bots such as ChatGPT and Co-pilot, I've been getting my solution. I haven't encountered a significant problem that would require contacting support. In the future, I'm looking forward to having a conversation with support if I encounter any difficulties.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before I started using Automation Anywhere, I was using the Blue Prism software. Comparing the features I have interacted with most in Automation Anywhere, I would say that Automation Anywhere is the best option. When comparing the cost, user-friendly interaction, automation, and quick delivery of results, I've seen a huge impact compared to Blue Prism.

How was the initial setup?

It was easy. The full deployment of Automation Anywhere took approximately three to four weeks.

Updates are done automatically, so maintenance is not hard to handle.

What about the implementation team?

It required approximately five people for the deployment of Automation Anywhere.

What other advice do I have?

As a beginner, I would suggest starting with small workflows, as starting with a huge workflow can become overwhelming.

I would rate Automation Anywhere a ten out of ten.

It is excellent for documentation, web, and Excel automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the back-end process automation."
  • "Although the UI and elements are user-friendly, it is still difficult for business users without experience to understand how to use Automation Anywhere."

What is our primary use case?

Coming from a startup background, we lack a formal administrative structure. This means we operate without established procedures and often tackle daily tasks, such as Excel updates or attendance tracking, on an ad-hoc basis. To address these challenges, we develop internal proofs of concept and present them to clients. In my previous role, I automated approximately ten web- and Excel-based processes using Automation Anywhere.

We implemented Automation Anywhere to address the challenge of manually entering data, such as transferring thousands of rows from Excel to a web application. When performed manually at a rate of 200 records per day, this process typically takes five days. By utilizing RPA technology, we can drastically reduce this timeframe to a matter of hours. Our primary goal is to minimize labor hours and enhance efficiency, enabling employees to focus on higher-value tasks like logic and content development instead of repetitive data entry.

How has it helped my organization?

The generative AI is helpful for jobs that fail. It will try to redo the same operation by implementing different numbers, and if it succeeds, it will automatically continue the process.

The task process, before and after Automation Anywhere, requires a series of actions performed by either a human or a bot. Previously, without automation, the process was identical. Rather than having employees sit at computers inputting the same data daily, automation allows for their redeployment to other areas such as administration, cash flow management, or payments. The goal of RPA is not job elimination but to enhance efficiency. While automation platforms can handle many tasks, they are not infallible and require human oversight. Regular maintenance and monitoring are essential for any automated process.

The initial learning curve for Automation Anywhere will be challenging because the drag-and-drop interface differs significantly from traditional coding. While packages are used, the underlying logic is expressed visually rather than textually. This transition may take one to two months as users acclimate to the new terminology and approach. Once familiar with the platform, developers will find it easier to construct automation processes due to their existing programming knowledge, which includes concepts like string operations, conditions, loops, and other programming language constructs. Although the terminology will be unfamiliar, the underlying logic remains consistent, making the platform more accessible over time.

The training takes at least four months for technical employees to learn, understand, and implement what they learn.

Automation Copilot is a valuable tool for streamlining daily tasks, but human oversight is essential during execution. For instance, if a sales representative quotes a package requiring managerial approval in a tourism scenario, the process should automatically route to the manager for confirmation via email, message, or another preferred method. While Automation Copilot is beneficial, it's crucial to incorporate a mechanism within the process to handle this manual intervention.

Organizations can benefit from Automation Anywhere's document, web, and Excel automation capabilities.

Automation and AI used to be a frightening prospect for our clients, who feared job displacement. However, they have embraced the idea after experiencing how these technologies can free up their time for more critical tasks.

Our organization has integrated Automation Anywhere with Epicor, Aurora, Dynamic 365, SAP, and Power BI.

Due to the numerous internal teams and domains, Automation Anywhere has been implemented across various IT departments within our organization. Multiple processes within each team have been automated using Automation Anywhere, from account management to application maintenance. These automated processes often involve handling documents, APIs, Excel files, or web-based interactions.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the back-end process automation. I primarily encountered this issue in back-end operations. To illustrate, consider the medical industry where I previously worked. ICD codes, a critical component, must be mapped by the administrative department. Traditionally, reconciling a single report was a manual, ten-hour task. Automation Anywhere offers a clear advantage over other market solutions by streamlining these time-consuming back-end processes.

What needs improvement?

Although the UI and elements are user-friendly, it is still difficult for business users without experience to understand how to use Automation Anywhere.

Automation Copilot has generated a strong foundation, but its analytics capabilities lag behind competitors. While Automation Anywhere offers numerous built-in dashboards, its data visualization options are limited. In contrast, Microsoft Power Automate provides extensive data manipulation and visualization flexibility, allowing users to create various chart types and formats. To remain competitive, Automation Anywhere must significantly enhance its data visualization features.

Licensing fees could be a barrier to entry for many potential customers interested in using Automation Anywhere.

A major drawback of Automation Anywhere is the lack of notification for all customers when upgrades occur. Without any information about these upgrades, it is difficult to determine specific details.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for five years.

How are customer service and support?

I contacted technical support for problems related to the in-progress tab. In 2021 or 2022, numerous tasks appeared in the in-progress tab despite not running on the machines in real time. This led to the development of an API to address the issue. However, a new problem arose: when triggering the bot on runner machines, the bot was not actually triggered on those machines, yet it still appeared in the in-progress tab. This discrepancy persisted despite multiple reports, but the issue was resolved recently.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment is straightforward.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

BotCity is a newcomer to the RPA market, currently holding ninth place on the top ten list. They are rapidly expanding and offer a unique advantage: no additional software is needed as long as the system supports Python.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere seven out of ten.

Maintenance is required for server-based environments but not for cloud-based architectures since Automation Anywhere is self-hosted and managed by them.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud
