The support of this solution is great. The timeliness of their responses is crucial for me. When I raise an issue, I can count on receiving a prompt reply, eliminating the need for extensive online searches or phone calls. This efficiency is paramount in saving time. In the rare instances where problems arise, they are usually swiftly addressed.

Cisco Meraki Wireless is very powerful and very easy to manage. The solution is also integrating Cisco Catalyst Wireless products into their portfolio, and they are managing the Catalyst switches as well. The seamless roaming capabilities function well. I monitor network performance with Meraki's real-time analytics. The most useful metrics to my team are the internet performance metrics, as there is a lot of information in the dashboard that I can access. All auditing and event logs are centralized in the dashboard. When I need to apply to compliance requirements or other regulatory needs, I can have my auditing in one place, which is an advantage. I use Cisco Meraki Wireless's Layer 7 application traffic shaping with the MX and the Meraki MX Firewalls.

"We are very satisfied with the performance."
"One feature that differentiates Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar from some other vendors is the fact that on-premise OmniVista licenses are perpetual."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...The solution's initial setup process was straightforward."

"The solution's ease of use is great."
"The most valuable features are the multiple types of user groupings and access management."
"The most valuable feature of Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN is that it is fast and does the job."

Cons

"It is not possible to integrate Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar with third-party software like Opera, a property management system (PMS)."
"I’d rate this product as an eight out of 10 because it is not accessible to everyone to take 100% advantage of the product."
"The current implementation of our Guest Access network in isolation for Express mode is very complicated in comparison with leading market solutions."
"If the customers plan to go on the cloud side, they need encryption and daily communications from a security perspective."
"Sometimes, we're not able to meet the complex requirement with Stellar."

"It would be good to integrate with ISE in the future."
"It is super expensive for what you get. You also have to buy a license every year; otherwise, it stops working."
"We'd like to have better mapping to showcase low-coverage areas."
"The throughput of the switches for wireless could be improved."
"The solution cannot be looked upon for one year or short term because you will pay back all the discounts they offer the next time you pay for renewal."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's pricey, but better than similar solutions."
"The price is in the range of other brands like Cisco, maybe a little cheaper but you get the same features, facilities, and security. Licensing is something Alcatel is making changes to. A few years ago you would buy a WLAN solution from Alcatel for half the price of Cisco, but you would spend the same amount on licensing. Today this is different and the licensing is cheaper."
"At times, it appears that the solution's pricing is slightly higher. This makes it challenging to persuade customers who primarily focus on the price."
"The tool is cost-effective, according to our sales team's feedback."
"Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar is a mid-range solution with respect to pricing."
"We find the price comparable to other products on the market."
"The price of this product is average and it is a one-time, perpetual license."
"The platform is expensive."
"Its price is high and should be reduced."
"The price of Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN is per unit and it has annual maintenance costs."
"Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN's pricing is high."
"The solution is overpriced and more expensive than Hauwei."
"The solution is pretty expensive."
"The box itself is very cheap. The question here is about the subscription because this is what you will pay every year. In the initial year, for purchasing, Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN gives you an attractive price. While during renewal, we are not given much discount."
"This solution is quite costly and there are costs in addition to the licensing fees."
