Strong performance supports network team effectively but guest access compatibility needs improvement
We connect the network using Aruba Wireless. We connect our office network, and we use it primarily within our network team Aruba Wireless has many features, especially their state-of-the-art controller, which can be connected to the cloud. They also have an unlimited lifetime warranty, which is…

AI-driven optimization enhances network management and reduces hardware needs
In my region, access to the product is very difficult and presents a logistical nightmare. Also, pricing is a big problem and a barrier to entry when selling Juniper against competitors. Furthermore, the knowledge of the product's capabilities is not understood properly by those selling it, leading to overselling and overquoting.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Ability for a student or teacher to be able to roam freely from classroom to classroom, no matter the floor, without dropping a signal."
"Although there are other solutions available and some with a lower initial cost, they don't offer the same level of integration with IoT as this solution without having to add additional hardware, which ends up costing more."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it can work with many devices. It supports everything that we need it to."
"Aruba Central is a valuable feature because I can monitor access points remotely, even if I'm not in the office."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Aruba Central, which offers centralized management. You can manage its switches, APs, and data access. It is easy to manage the entire switches and APs. The solution is the best in terms of security and manageability."
"The most valuable functions in Aruba Wireless are the AI-powered performance, which uses AI and machine learning to automatically detect any Wi-Fi issues and fix them, as well as managing all access points from a centralized single point, along with high speed and better performance."
"For my organization, the most critical feature of Aruba Wireless is guest management."
"It is easy to install and deploy."
"The installation process is very easy."
"The tool has given us more visibility, but I'm not very technical, so I can't comment on specific features. However, the diagnostic tools for identifying system issues have greatly improved, which we appreciate. We still use Cisco ICE for authentication on the Juniper network, as we did before. We've seen cost benefits with the Juniper WLC Series, which was a key factor in our decision-making during the proof of concept. Besides cost improvements, we've also noticed better resolution of issues and faults in our help desk, thanks to the enhanced features."
"Juniper WLC Series is a very high-performance device designed for indoor wireless deployment."
"It's easy to set up, and I feel it's very secure. I also prefer its reporting feature. The devices are quite good."
"There weren't any scalability issues, the product did what it had to do."
"The Artificial Intelligence on offer is very useful."
"The AI integration with Marvis is very valuable."
"It is a very stable solution."

Cons

"They should provide usage guides and solutions to frequent problems."
"The stability and management could be improved."
"Some additional reporting features about the clients would be nice when not combined with the AirWave management package."
"An area for improvement in Aruba Wireless is creating a DMZ. Without Aruba ClearPass, you need to allow guess access directly via the internet, which means you need to implement the security in between, so this is what I'd like Aruba to improve in the product."
"Every month Aruba has new firmware. I don't know if it's good or bad but it's not good in terms of production. We can't upgrade our firmware every month, especially an enterprise company, because if we upgrade our firmware based on the latest firmware that Aruba has, that firmware is not stable. They're not 100 percent sure about it."
"Most of the access points don't include the chargers."
"The logging is hard to read when troubleshooting issues."
"MAC authentication against an external Radius server while using 802.1X. This feature will help the L2 devices to authenticate via external Radius servers."
"In my region, access to the product is very difficult and presents a logistical nightmare. Also, pricing is a big problem and a barrier to entry when selling Juniper against competitors."
"We would prefer it if the solution could be less expensive."
"In my region, access to the product is very difficult and presents a logistical nightmare."
"The network coverage of Juniper WLC Series and Cisco is different. We need to add additional access points."
"The biggest issue was that Juniper stopped developing, so we had to look for another solution."
"The solution should create configuration documentation."
"Juniper WLC Series has certain shortcomings in traffic monitoring."
"There could be a high level of security."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing is a one time purchase (only the cloud license has to be renewed, which is worth trying out)."
"The price point is pretty high compared to Ubiquiti and other equipment."
"Aruba is less expensive than Cisco."
"Pricing is competitive. Licensing is needed to maintain access to the latest firmware, which wasn't made clear originally when we started with Arbua (or things changed, I'm not sure which). I would just say, make sure you budget for it."
"It offers a lower cost compared to other products, which is a significant advantage."
"The product is expensive."
"The pricing is fair and similar to other products."
"There is so much licensing, you literally pay for every solution, add-on, or cool feature. Compared to others, we were in the middle with pricing, but as you start to invest more into features it will get very pricey."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable."
"Juniper WLC Series is a bit pricey but worth its cost."
"The licensing cost is quite high, but considering it's an enterprise solution, the complexity justifies the price."
"There is a certain amount that needs to be paid towards the licensing charges associated with the product, but though I am not sure, I feel the licenses that we have in our company are for three years."
"The product is relatively affordable for enterprise companies."
