Centralized asset tracking has transformed governance and now speeds incident response
I would add that currently, the tool supports some integrations, but we would expect it to support broader integration with other security tools, observability, or any other cloud integrations. One area Axonius can be improved is its integration process, as it is not straightforward; there is a lot involved in cloning the instance and other hard changes that I expect to be fully automated, suggesting an agentless method instead of utilizing agents, which feels somewhat legacy but could be improved. The user interface needs improvement because it is a bit laggy sometimes, making it not straightforward when we want to identify things quickly, leading us to go in different directions which could be better tied together in one place.

Continuous risk-based monitoring has strengthened incident response and vulnerability prioritization
I haven't explored Qualys VMDR's vulnerability lifecycle automation yet. One of my analysts mentioned that queries lack grouping operators in Qualys VMDR. From my experience, I would appreciate improvements in the query options in Qualys VMDR, specifically in the query-building process where I would need more features and operators. Additionally, we have been facing issues with Qualys on the cloud level. We cannot download the configuration profile from the cloud agent, and it is showing a pending action for download. During 2025, we noticed outages of Qualys a couple of times. I want to mention that there is an issue with receiving timely RCA deliveries. While this is not necessarily about the tool, it relates to support. The support has not been very responsive, and we are receiving RCAs a little delayed whenever we raise support cases or communicate with the TAMs. Additionally, the UI has a slight latency, which I and my team have experienced. They have also reported this latency issue when navigating through different pages.

"The solution's technical support was good...The product's initial setup phase is pretty straightforward."
"Axonius provides preconfigured dashboards that can be customized to your needs."
"he best feature I found in Axonius is that it shows us the duration of eCheck, and it shows us what device is down and in which part of the system life cycle or the checking part the system is down in."
"I like that the tool has a user-friendly interface. It helps organizations and big companies improve business requirements and control processes."
"The automation capabilities in Axonius have streamlined our security operations."
"The most valuable feature is the connection of threat intelligence information with identified vulnerabilities, which means you can prioritize vulnerabilities according to actual attacks."
"The reporting is fine."
"Qualys VM had a recent upgrade and the newer version is supporting the cloud."
"Qualys VMDR provides us with a quick response to threat findings through regular scheduled scanning, which improves our security operations."
"The solution is easy to use."
"It gives a very good overview of the inventory assessment process, and it can be accessed across our company because it's a global tool."

Cons

"Adding more detailed descriptions or YouTube videos about specific features would help improve the application."
"Axonius can improve on delivering compliance-related features."
"For us, the product's deployment phase was a little challenging because we had to deal with other departments and business units."
"Axonius could improve by increasing their integrations with more technology vendors."
"For Axonius, I would suggest supporting more ticketing platforms and enhancing API integration directly into the platform rather than just the connector. This would allow for better integration from different systems, possibly into workflows, which I think is currently lacking."
"One area Axonius can be improved is its integration process, as it is not straightforward; there is a lot involved in cloning the instance and other hard changes that I expect to be fully automated, suggesting an agentless method instead of utilizing agents, which feels somewhat legacy but could be improved."
"We can have fetch cycle issues."
"Regarding the improvement of Axonius, it goes halfway for both the tool and the user. If we set it up quickly from our end, and if the AD groups and all other groups assigned to tag the assets have been tagged correctly, Axonius could not show an error."
"What we have found is that the solution is not closely tied with the patch management. It is okay with newer ones, like Windows 10 machines; it gives the correct patch. But for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008, it does not give us the correct patch so we have to manually identify the patches. This is a major problem."
"They have integrated with other third parties, but it is still not viable."
"It would be nice to have an all-in-one solution that was automated and could handle the scanning and reports as well as the patching and updating."
"Qualys should improve their customer experience. They need to improve the tech support experience and the turnaround time."
"One area of the product that could be improved is the management of vulnerabilities detected on disabled applications."
"Improve the user interface."
"Qualys VM's vulnerability scan could be improved, especially the number of CVE numbers it can manage at a time."
"Sometimes the scanning can get overwhelmed and start to drag when a lot of users are trying to scan at once."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Axonius is quite a bit cheaper compared to other solutions."
"We are on a subscription model with them."
"Qualys is cheaper and more affordable than other solutions."
"The product is more expensive than that of any other vendor."
"It's very expensive, especially if you want to use multiple modules of Qualys."
"It is different for every company, but for us, it's every three years."
"In Nigerian Naira, we spend about roughly four to five million to use this solution and this is expensive compared to solutions like Nessus."
"We have an annual contract for Qualys VMDR. I believe it's for either two years or five years."
"The solution is expensive."
"When you want to cover yourself for scalability, you will be charged for the number you place on the scan itself."
